And what is with the bizarre, jerky tics that this Miller guy keeps demonstrating? Is that what he does when he lies?

One of Trump's all time favorite defenses is to claim that the individual telling the truth about him could not possibly know it because he was only a low level operative. Remember George Papadopoulos?

However in this case Bannon was heavily involved in a number of key decisions made by Trump, as Tapper points out.

By the end of the interview Tapper has had enough.

Not always the biggest fan of CNN, but that was certainly worth the price of admission.

Well, THAT'S a confirmation if ever I heard one.

By the way "unconventional" is code for "dysfunctional."

The Trump White House is now an official outlet for Russian propaganda.

So in case you were a little confused by the Mooch's double speak, this is the new White House Communications Director outing Donald Trump as the source for his secret information that the Russian hackers are way too awesome to be caught by American Intelligence agencies.

So at this point you may be asking, "But where did Trump get an idea like that?"

Well funny you should ask.

First off I think that Caitlin Jenner should stop getting work done because she is starting to lose mobility around the mouth area.

Secondly no. despite what several media outlets are hinting at, Sarah Palin was not sexually harassed at Fox News.

Nor does it appear that she has any empathy for those women who were.

When asked about the cases of sexual harassment at Fox News, Palin said that she “use to be with Fox News” and emphasized, “I used to be with Fox.” She revealed that the “corporate culture needs to change” at the network. But also took a shot at former female anchors who have complained after the fact. 

“Women don’t deserve — they should not ever have to put up with any kind of intimidating workspace,” Palin said. “At the same time if a woman believes that she is being intimidated and harassed, she needs to stand up and do something about it, not stick around for a paycheck for years and years and years, and then after the fact complain about what she went through.” 

Tapper asked Palin if she ever experienced any harassment while working at Fox News and she wouldn’t answer, saying only that he can ask Fox News why her contract wasn’t renewed. Palin did say that she wouldn’t accept any form of harassment and would absolutely speak up if it occurred. 

“It sounds like you experienced something,” Tapper said. 

“I just — you know, it was just time to part ways and, and, you know, get — get out there in, I guess, a more diverse arena to express views,” Palin concluded.

Sarah Palin, and her entire family actually, are the quintessential victims. 

For years now she has been creating false narratives about how she and her hillbilly family have been harassed and abused, so does ANYBODY really think that if she had actually suffered any REAL abuse at Fox News that she would have kept it to herself?

Hell no.

Simply put Palin sees a way of getting a little media attention and so she is hinting at this just like she hinted at a presidential run for all of those years to keep the dipshits on the hook.

So what does this mean, if anything?

I would not even try to venture a guess.

This Trump presidency is batshit crazy, so Palin could be there to interview for some job with the Trump cabinet, to pee on one of the beds that the Obamas slept in, or to simply get her picture taken in the room that the American voters kept her from accessing on her own.

Who knows? 

All I know is that the White House staff should waste no time in getting the place fumigated.

“Neither the president or I have anything to fear from a full and fair investigation of these bogus charges of Russian collusion,” Stone insists. “But now Adam Schiff, having slimed me in public session seems to be backing away from the confrontation. I demand a right to face my accusers. I will deconstruct their lies and spank them like children.” 

The letter goes on to blast Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA), who he calls a “pretty boy” and a “first term mannequin”, for suggesting that Stone’s Twitter communications with Russian hacker Guccifer 2.0 were evidence of collusion. 

“I am specifically accused of colluding with Guccifer 2.0 in the hacking and release of the DNC documents yet my only communications with him come over a month after Wikileaks had released said documents,” Stone says. “Thus collusion would have been impossible unless I owned a time machine.” 

According to Stone, a Jan. 20 New York Times story about intercepted Russia communications is proof that he has been “unfairly monitored by the deep state.” 

“Quite clearly my telephone conversations with president candidate Trump was bugged and recorded,” Stone charges. “My e-mails and phone conversations with my wife, children, grandchildren, business associates, friends, and hundreds of reporters had been monitored and recorded yet no real meaningful evidence of collusion with the Russian state had been found.”

Oh yeah, this is definitely a Trump supporter alright. 

SNL is killing it. Killing it I say!

I swear that Melissa McCarthy is a shoo-in for an Emmy nomination.

Her Sean Spicer is one of the funnest things I have ever seen.

Don't get me wrong the rest of the show was damn good as well.

There was a segment with Alec Baldwin appearing as Trump in People's Court.

And a great Weekend Update segment with Kate McKinnon as Elizabeth Warren.

But then there was this bit with Kate once again reprising her role as Kellyanne Conway stalking CNN's Jake Tapper after he refused to allow her on his show because....well because she lies.

Okay that was both creepy as hell and amazing.

We already reported that SNL is getting the highest ratings in 22 years, and it is pretty clear they deserve it.

Like I said, they are KILLING it!

SNL takes on Donald Trump's crazy cabinet picks.

My favorite line: 

“Kellyanne, it’s almost like Mr. Trump appoints these people specifically to undermine the very agencies they head.” 

So the writers on SNL noticed that too. 

I will give old George W. credit for one thing at least.

He waited to take office BEFORE he started working to destroy the country.

Bernie Sanders claims that his supporters can do math, admits that Hillary Clinton can beat Donald Trump, and says if he is elected Debbie Wasserman Schultz would be out of a job.

CNN host Jake Tapper asked the candidate over the weekend if he was misleading his supporters by downplaying the fact that Clinton has “roughly 54 percent” of the pledged delegates. 

“It seems unlikely that you’ll actually achieve the majority of the pledged delegates,” Tapper noted. 

“I assume that most of the people who come to my rallies can do arithmetic,” the candidate quipped. “If I have 46 percent, she has 54 percent. The point that I was making is there’s something absurd when I get 46 percent of the delegates that come from real contests — real elections, and 7 percent of the super delegates.” 

“I am the stronger candidate because we appeal to independents, people who are not in love with either the Democratic or the Republican Party,” Sanders insisted.

That argument about independent voters is a strong one, assuming of course that they would also be willing to vote for Democrats down ticket to give a President Sanders the support in the House and Senate that he would need to pass ANY of his very progressive policies.

Which by the way would have to be vast. Overwhelming even.

However independents are exactly that, independent. So if they are voting all up and down the ballot based on their own criteria for who they like, that does not build the kind of coalition that Sanders would need.

Hillary Clinton on the other hand has strong support from the Democrats, and is strongly identified as a Democrat, so a vote for her on a ballot is an almost certain vote for other Democrats on that voting form as well.

And if Hillary feels she really needs those independents, well I'm sure she knows who to call.

Later in the interview Sanders makes the case that he thinks super delegates who signed on with Hillary before he jumped into the race should reevaluate and consider supporting him.

But this is after weeks, and weeks where Sanders attacked Democratic leaders, suggested that the Democratic party was owned by Wall Street, and after his supporters disrupted the Nevada convention causing many in the party to express concern over what might happen in Philadelphia in July.

The idea that many super delegates would ignore all of that and abandon Hillary Clinton in favor of the self described Democratic Socialist seems fantastical at best.

Which brings us back to the question at the top of the page, CAN Bernie Sanders supporters actually do arithmetic?

Not entirely convinced.

Sarah Palin thinks that Paul Ryan is soon to be "Cantor'd," will support his challenger, and believes she is already vetted to be Trump's VP choice.

Palin was interviewed on CNN’s State of the Union, where she said she would support Ryan’s primary opponent. 

“I think Paul Ryan is soon to be ‘Cantored’, as in Eric Cantor,” she said, alluding to the former Republican House leader who was knocked out of his seat in 2014 by a more conservative candidate. 

“His political career is over but for a miracle because he has so disrespected the will of the people,” she said. “And yeah, as the leader of the GOP, the convention, certainly he is to remain neutral. And for him to already come out and say who he will not support is not a wise decision of his. 

“If the GOP were to win [the general election] now, that wouldn’t bode well for his chances in 2020, and that’s what he’s shooting for,” she said, adding that Ryan’s decision “kinda screws his chances for the 2020 bid”.

I found it interesting that Palin was unwilling to pile on asked about Trump's attacks on Hillary Clinton as being an "enabler" who supporter her husband's infidelities.  It seemed as if she was finally becoming aware that her own marital issues might be raised if she went after Hillary and Bill.

If true that shows some actual growth.

As does this next part possibly.

“I think there are so many other great people out there in American that could serve in this position.” “I think if somebody wanted to choose me, they already know who I am, what I stand for,” she added. “They wouldn’t be in for any surprises.” 

But Palin acknowledged that she also came with baggage. 

“I want to help and not hurt, and I am such a realist that I realize there are a whole lot of people out there who say, ‘Anybody but Palin,'” the former VP nominee admitted. “I wouldn’t want to be a burden on the ticket and I recognize that in many, many eyes, I would be that burden.” 

“So, you know, I just want the guy to win. I want America to win.”

I think that Palin's statement "I want to help and not hurt" is also an indication that she realizes she is done in politics, and that she has to be careful what she says because her life, and her family's life, is so rich with potential tabloid fodder.

I don't want to give Palin TOO much credit here but it does appear that she is finally noticing that her life is essentially a burned out crater and that she has little to offer any candidate or political organization at this point.

Of course she is also addicted to the limelight so if somebody like Jake Tapper offers her a spot on a Sunday morning show she is certainly not going to say no.

And I imagine the same is true if Donald Trump really was ignorant enough to choose her as his VP.

Palin has been hiding out on Facebook essentially since that whole Climate Hustle fiasco.

But now it looks as if she is ready once again to come out of the shadows and shake her water filled pom poms for her pudgy orange boyfriend.

Perhaps that's because some third rate Fox News wannabe just identified her as the number one Influential Female Republicans.

Of course this is the same group of pinheads who once determined that Bristol Palin was among the 30 most influential Republicans under 30.

Well I for one welcome Sarah Palin back to the Sunday shows.

After all we can use as much help damaging Donald Trump's candidacy and keeping him out of the White House that we can get.

Donald Trump just can't quite bring himself to denounce the White Supremacists supporting him. Update!

CNN anchor Jake Tapper repeatedly asked Donald Trump on Sunday to denounce David Duke's support for his candidacy, but Trump insisted he didn't know anything about the former KKK grand wizard. 

"Will you unequivocally condemn David Duke and say that you don't want his vote and that of other white supremacists in this election?" Tapper asked Trump on "State of the Union." 

But Trump, the Republican presidential frontrunner, said he didn't have enough information to answer the question: 

"I don't know anything about David Duke, OK? I don't know anything about what you're even talking about with white supremacy or white supremacists. So I don't know. I mean, I don't know — did he endorse me or what's going on? Because I know nothing about David Duke. I know nothing about white supremacists. And so you're asking me a question that I'm supposed to be talking about people that I know nothing about."

Oddly enough David Duke himself claims that Trump certainly knows him:“I think he knows who I am,” Duke said. “But he doesn’t know what I actually stand for today.”

Which is backed up by the fact that Trump referred to him by name back in 2000:

In 2000, when he ended his presidential campaign, Trump cited Duke's participation in the Reform Party as one reason he no longer wanted the party's nomination. 

"The Reform Party now includes a Klansman, Mr. Duke, a neo-Nazi, Mr. [Pat][ Buchanan, and a communist, Ms. [Lenora] Fulani. This is not company I wish to keep," he wrote in his statement.

"Hey look I don't know anything about this Hitler fellow that you say I remind you of. You say he's a bad guy, killed a bunch of Jews, but I didn't see it so I don't know. Don't want to condemn the guy until I get all of the facts, and by "facts" I mean input from Right Wing talk radio."

And THIS guy is leading in the race for the presidential nomination in the Republican party.

They must be so proud.

Update: So yeah now Trump is blaming an earpiece.

Yet another reporter almost gets a brain aneurysm when interviewing Sarah Palin.

So Jake Tapper attempts to get Palin to explain why she, who is considered such an aggressive "pro-life" supporter, can accept Donald Trump's past statements in support of pro-choice.

Seems like a simple straightforward question, but to Sarah Palin it is an opportunity to open her mouth and let the crazy fly:

““I am so glad that Mr. Trump has seen the light and understands the sanctity of innocent life and how a baby in the womb should be most protected,” she began. 

“What has been kind of sad about this situation though, politically speaking, are there are groups that are pro-life and they say they want to bring more people into the fold.” 

“They’re giving Trump a hard time for his past views on abortion where they’re celebrating others, like, I was going through a list,” Palin said. “Like Justin Bieber and — ” 

“Justin Bieber?” Tapper replied. 

“Yeah, he’s made statements, understanding the sanctity of life, but in the past said it was no big deal to him. He’s just one example.”

So at this point the best tactic is to simply close your eyes and rub your temples until the pain subsides. Trust me, I've been doing this awhile now.

Of course there is no real way to logically explain what Palin is trying to say here, but I think it has something to do with a Rolling Stone article in which Bieber said the following: 

"I really don't believe in abortion," Bieber says. "It's like killing a baby." How about in cases of rape? "Um. Well, I think that's really sad, but everything happens for a reason. I don't know how that would be a reason. I guess I haven't been in that position, so I wouldn't be able to judge that." 

So I'm not sure if Palin is suggesting that Donald Trump would also deny access to abortions for women who had been raped, or if that is simply her point of view.

Either way she certainly made Jake Tapper regret sitting down for this interview.

For some unknown reason CNN had Sarah Palin on to give her opinions of the GOP candidates. I have no idea why.

Up above Palin does a bizarre word association with the names of the various candidates.

Of course we know this is all phony chest thumping from Palin who is totally full of shit, after all she is a well known coward.

And besides that I don't think even Daesh wants anything to do with her. Even though the desert nights are long and lonely, they are not that long and lonely.

Not only that but the story concerning Daesh killing children with Down syndrome is based on some questionable sources, and may in fact be false.

The woman of course is an idiot, and you would think a news gathering organization like CNN might have figured that out by now. 

Donald Trump says the world was "100%" better with dictators Saddam Hussein and Moammar Gadhafi still in power.

Donald Trump believes the world would be much better off if ruthless dictators like Saddam Hussein and Moammar Gadhafi were still in power. 

"100%," Trump replied when asked that question in an interview with CNN's Jake Tapper that aired Sunday on "State of the Union." 

Trump said he believes Iraq and Libya, the respective countries of the since-deceased dictators, would be less fractured and promote a more stable Middle East if the two had not been forcefully pushed out of power. Hussein fell from power following the U.S. invasion of Iraq in 2003 and Gadhafi was ousted following violent civil strife in 2011 that ultimately drew a NATO-led military intervention. 

"I mean, look at Libya. Look at Iraq. Iraq used to be no terrorists. He (Hussein) would kill the terrorists immediately, which is like now it's the Harvard of terrorism," Trump said. "If you look at Iraq from years ago, I'm not saying he was a nice guy, he was a horrible guy, but it was a lot better than it is right now. Right now, Iraq is a training ground for terrorists. Right now Libya, nobody even knows Libya, frankly there is no Iraq and there is no Libya. It's all broken up. They have no control. Nobody knows what's going on."

"People are getting their heads chopped off, they're being drowned. Right now, they are far worse than they were, ever, under Saddam Hussein or Gadhafi," he said.

Okay well you know how much it pains me to say this, but I kind of agree with Trump here.

I mean in the case of Iraq I am in almost total agreement, and on Libya I am in partial agreement because I think that situation is still evolving.

I also agree that when the United States intervenes in the affairs of other countries it seems to rarely work out in our favor, or even for that matter in theirs.

In some ways this is kind of what worries me about Hillary. Not that she is quite the war hawk embraced by the Right, but many of her votes while in the Senate put right quite comfortably among them.

Now if you will excuse me I have to go into my closet and scream until I no longer feel shame over agreeing with Donald Trump on something. This may take awhile.

Sarah Palin serving up mounds of word salad this morning on CNN. Update!

Sarah Palin knows the position she wants in a Donald Trump administration: Energy secretary. 

"I think a lot about the Department of Energy, because energy is my baby: oil and gas and minerals, those things that God has dumped on this part of the Earth for mankind's use instead of us relying on unfriendly foreign nations," she told CNN's Jake Tapper in an interview that aired Sunday on "State of the Union." 

But Palin, the GOP's 2008 vice presidential nominee, might be the first potential cabinet member to openly speak about dissolving their office. 

"I'd get rid of (the Energy Department). And I'd let the states start having more control over the lands that are within their boundaries and the people who are affected by the developments within their states. If I were in charge of that, it would be a short-term job, but it would be ... really great to have someone who knows energy and is pro-responsible development to be in charge."

Get rid of the energy department, what a moron.

But that was not the dumbest thing that Palin said by any measure.

She actually defended the idea that Mt. Denali should continue to be called Mt. McKinley, the park being called Denali was good enough she said, and attacked the President for wasting the resources and time to come up here to "rename a mountain."

Palin also attacked Obama over his attention to climate change, and claimed that his data was flawed.

Palin also weighed in on the Bush/Trump Spanish language kerfuffle:

"Let's speak American."

Almost immediately afterward she claimed that the GOP was not racist: 

" No because I can't think of any Republican I know who would have that in their heart. I think Republicans, and Independents, that is the party of tolerance. It certainly doesn't matter the color of your skin"

Yep, she actually said that.

Another part that really caught my attention was when Palin addressed the fact that Ohio was going to introduce legislation that would forbid women from ending a pregnancy due to their baby being diagnosed with Down syndrome.

"Hmm, do I think it should be legal for a mom to snuff out the life of her baby just because the child has one extra chromosome?"

Obviously Palin answered no to that, and then later Palin trotted out her Trig mythology:

"When I was pregnant and very early on, at twelve weeks, got the diagnosis that Trig would be born with Down syndrome, I know what moms go through when they are given that, at the time, to be honest with you, kind of devastating news. You know what, it makes your world stop spinning for a bit there, and there is some fear there in the unknown. Certainly there was some fear in my heart about..um...you know how in the world are we going to be able to handle the challenges up ahead?" 

Well of course the answer to that last question is that she pawned the care of Trig off onto others, as she went ahead and lived her life as if he did not exist.

And as we all know this entire last statement is pure mooseshit, as we have already proven beyond any shadow of a doubt.

Well at least in my opinion.

By the way this might have been Palin's unofficial audition because according to NewsCorpse she is supposedly joining CNN for their election coverage.

Which if true finally answers that question as to who was impressed by her week long appearance on OANN?

Donald Trump refuses to apologize for "blood" comments directed at Fox host Megyn Kelly, instead attacks GOP opponents for misrepresenting them.

Presidential candidate Donald Trump defended himself Sunday from the fierce backlash he's received for criticizing Fox News debate moderator Megyn Kelly, insisting he said nothing wrong and that he values women. 

"I cherish women," the real estate mogul told CNN's Jake Tapper on "State of the Union," adding that he did not mean to imply that Kelly asked him sharp questions during the debate because she was menstruating. 

"Who would say that?" Trump said Sunday. "Do you think I'd make a statement like that? Who would make a statement like that? Only a sick person would even think about that." (And only an even sicker person would actually say it.)

Trump handled the moment in characteristic fashion -- refusing to give an inch to his detractors and telling Tapper he did "nothing wrong whatsoever." He blamed his Republican presidential opponents for fanning the flames of controversy, and claimed he meant to refer to her "nose and/or ears" -- not a woman's period. 

Trump attacked several of the Republicans who have criticized his remarks about Kelly. 

He pointed to former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush's gaffe over women's health funding last week, saying he "came out horribly" and that the comment about overfunding -- which Bush said was meant to reference Planned Parenthood -- "will go down to haunt him and be the same as Romney's '47%.'" 

Trump dismissed South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham and former Hewlett-Packard chief executive officer Carly Fiorina.

Trump also went on to dismiss criticism from Erick Erickson, and pointed out that he himself has said worse things in the past. (That's actually true.)

Trump also suggested that he was much more popular that Fox News darling Megyn Kelly, "On social media I'm the one that's beloved.)

Later on Meet the Press Trump said this:

“When I was attacked viciously by those women, of course, it’s very hard for them to attack me on looks, because I’m so good-looking,” he said. 

Holy shit! That is some industrial strength denial this guy is working with there.

Trump's arrogance has now turned him into a parody of himself, where there is literally nobody that can say anything as harmful about him that he has not already said himself.

Kind of reminds you of somebody, doesn't it?

Thank you, Jake Tapper (Oooh, SOMEBODY has a crush.), for covering this shocking story about anti-Semitic propaganda distributed by pro-Russian militants in Ukraine demanding Jews “register” their religion and property. Our U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine confirmed the story.  (Yes he did.) The rest of the media must pursue this story and demand answers from the Obama administration as to what our President’s intention now is in light of this atrocious development that harkens back to frightening times for Jews. (Yes Obama must protect the Jews, so that Palin can meet Jesus during the End Times.)

Our government’s priorities are so skewed. The Middle East is a tinderbox; Russia flagrantly invades a sovereign nation, and we just draw more invisible red lines daring bad guys not to cross; we’re fed dishonest domestic denials as we discover our own government is spying on and harassing innocent U.S. citizens; our porous national borders are ignored (Actually illegal border crossings are at their lowest in 40 years.) while clueless politicians excitedly plan welcoming parties and more rewards for illegal foreigners to simply step right on over those borders; Democrats boast about our fake and jobless economic recovery (Actually the economy is poised for its best performance since the recession of 2008. You know, the one caused by the REPUBLICAN President.), etc., etc. Yet the top priority of the President (he who is the face of the Democrat Party) and his bureaucrats seems to focus on heavy handedly lassoing Nevada cows to stick it to an American rancher. (Did you all see those pictures of President Obama roping cattle in Nevada? It was awesome! Also imaginary.) Meanwhile, the President’s minion, the most powerful man in the U.S. Senate who hails from the great state of Nevada, calls patriotic Americans “terrorists” as we try to get facts on the Bundy ranch cows and controversy in his state. (Yeah how crazy is it to call men who bring semi-automatic weapons to a stand off and then threaten federal officers with violence domestic terrorists?) Really? Prioritize much, Democrats?

There is zero, and I mean zero, evidence that President Obama has had any input into the situation down in Nevada, and it is insane to suggest that every action by the government is personally directed by the White House.

As for the situation in the Ukraine, Joe Biden is headed there later this month, the President is working with NATO to formulate a solution, and together they are increasing the severity of the sanctions against Russia.

The President has resisted calls to provide weapons to the Ukrainians because he feels that would increase the possibility of violence and provide Putin with an excuse to send in more military. 

Not an unreasonable assumption.

But hey how could Palin possibly understand any of this?

After all she gets all of her information from Fox News, Twitter, and Right Wing talk radio.

However perhaps it would be best if Palin stuck to things that she knows.

For instance of President Obama ever needs information on how to increase his bust size using a bicycle pump, beat a mammal into submission and prop it on his head, or raise a family of dipshits and substance abusers, then she should be the first person he calls.

On everything else, not so much.

Sarah Palin apologizes concerning her remarks about the pope, blames the media. Update!

Here is what she said yesterday on her ghostwritten Facebook page:

 Just to clarify my comment to Jake Tapper about Pope Francis, it was not my intention to be critical of Pope Francis. I was reminding viewers that we need to do our own homework on news subjects, and I hadn't done mine yet on the Pope's recent comments as reported by the media. Knowing full well how often the media mischaracterizes a person’s comments (especially a religious leader’s), I don’t trust them to get it right when it comes to reporting on the Vatican. I do, however, trust my many Catholic friends and family, including some excellent Catholic writers, who have since assured me that Pope Francis is as sincere and faithful a shepherd of his church as his two predecessors whom I admired. I apologize for not being clearer in my response, thus opening the door to critical media that does what it does best in ginning up controversy.

So let me get this straight. Is it the media's fault for reporting what Pope Francis said, Palin's fault for not reading what the media reported, or the media's fault again for reporting accurately what SHE said to Tapper?

Well strike that middle one, because it is NEVER Palin's fault.

So let's see what the media reported about the Pope's remarks.

In September this is what the  Pope said:

In remarkably blunt language, Francis sought to set a new tone for the church, saying it should be a “home for all” and not a “small chapel” focused on doctrine, orthodoxy and a limited agenda of moral teachings. “It is not necessary to talk about these issues all the time,” the pope told the Rev. Antonio Spadaro, a fellow Jesuit and editor in chief of La Civiltà Cattolica, the Italian Jesuit journal whose content is routinely approved by the Vatican. “The dogmatic and moral teachings of the church are not all equivalent. The church’s pastoral ministry cannot be obsessed with the transmission of a disjointed multitude of doctrines to be imposed insistently. 

“We have to find a new balance,” the pope continued, “otherwise even the moral edifice of the church is likely to fall like a house of cards, losing the freshness and fragrance of the Gospel.” 

Okay now the Catholic church did try to soften that language a little, and even reinterpreted it to some degree, but NOBODY claimed that the media lied or misrepresented his words to my knowledge.

Then in October, it was reported that the Pope said this:  

“The faith passes, so to speak, through a distiller and becomes ideology,” he said, according to Radio Vatican. “And ideology does not beckon [people]. In ideologies there is not Jesus: in his tenderness, his love, his meekness. And ideologies are rigid, always. Of every sign: rigid. 

“And when a Christian becomes a disciple of the ideology, he has lost the faith: he is no longer a disciple of Jesus, he is a disciple of this attitude of thought… For this reason Jesus said to them: ‘You have taken away the key of knowledge.’ The knowledge of Jesus is transformed into an ideological and also moralistic knowledge, because these close the door with many requirements.” 

“The faith becomes ideology and ideology frightens, ideology chases away the people, distances, distances the people and distances of the Church of the people,” Francis added. “But it is a serious illness, this of ideological Christians. It is an illness, but it is not new, eh?” 

And again nobody claimed the media got the words wrong.

You know until Sarah Palin of course.

And this was what Palin said to Tapper that she now seems to believe was taken out of context: 

"He's had some statements that to me sound kind of liberal, has taken me aback, has kind of surprised me," said Palin. But "unless I really dig deep into what his messaging is, and do my own homework, I’m not going to just trust what I hear in the media." (By the way the entire interview can be heard at the link, for the purposes of verification.)

You know, and I am sure this will shock all of you, it appears that when Palin suggests that the media has misrepresented something, what she actually means is that they reported it accurately.

Which means I assume that Jake Tapper, a man whose reporting she once singled out as accurate, now joins Katie Couric as a journalist who resorts to "gotcha questions."

How "lamestream" of him.

Update:  By the way it should be noted that the reason that authors (In this case rich people who pay ghostwriters to write their books.) go on book tours and give interviews, is to stimulate book sales, but in Palin's case her book has been dropping like a stone, seeming to accelerate with every interview that she gives. When all of this first started I believe she was in the mid fifties of Amazon book sales. As of this post she is 135.

Sarah Palin on her faith, the Pope's liberal views, and Chris Christie's weight.

Palin starts off the interview by kissing up to Hillary in response to a question from Tapper about female politicians:

"She can expect that sexism, but you overcome it, You know you thicken your skin and you march forth with your message, your priorities, your agenda that you believe is right for America, Yeah Hillary Clinton was mistreated when it came to appearances, when it came to wardrobe. You know, petty superficial things that the men don’t ever seem to hear much about, but a woman candidate will.”

“Governor Christie hears about his appearance,” Tapper countered.

“That’s because it’s been extreme, okay,” Palin replied. “It’s hard for some people not to comment on it.” 

Well she might as well forget getting any brownie points for kissing up to Hillary, and as for Christie, well she just poked the most likely future leader of the Republican party in the eye. So those are two more bridges that she has carelessly burned out of existence.

Sarah Palin said she is trying to follow Pope Francis, but is wary of what she called the media's interpretation of his message. 

"He's had some statements that to me sound kind of liberal, has taken me aback, has kind of surprised me," said Palin. But "unless I really dig deep into what his messaging is, and do my own homework, I’m not going to just trust what I hear in the media."

And where would Palin get the information to "dig deep in his messaging?"  The media of course.

Let's face it in Palin's world Christian means conservative, and just the possibility that the Pope might not agree with that, is  too much for her little brain to process.

Tapper tries to get Palin at one point to say something negative about John McCain who has been in vocal opposition to the government shutdown, and other Tea Party backed maneuvers, but Palin  reuses to take the bait and responds with, "I will never bad mouth Senator McCain. I have no desire to, I have no, there's no need for me to." Which kind of speaks to the fact that it is pretty clear that Palin and McCain made a pact at some point to never attack each other in the press. (That must be getting harder and harder for McCain everyday.)

But then she immediately gives her full throated endorsement of the very things done by Ted Cruz and Mike Lee that have so pissed off the establishment Republicans like McCain.

Palin also defends her comparison of the national debt to slavery, and claims that all people have to do is look up the word to realize that she used it properly.

I loved that Tapper asked her what church she attends, a question which I believe should be asked of her more often since she is constantly promoting herself as some sort of "super Christian."

And of course her answer of "Go to a bible believing church up there in Wasilla, that's nondenominational." Is pure mooseshit.

I will literally give a thousand dollars to anybody that can prove Palin has attended ANY church on a regular basis in the last five years. Trust me my money's safe.

He then asks if she is "born again:

"Yeah, yeah. I remember when I was a young girl I was looking around (Here she pauses as if trying to remember how the story went in her book.) the beauty of Alaska. I remember one summer, at a summer camp, looking around at our mountain ranges, and the beautiful lakes, and this creation, and knowing, even as a kid, wow there is something greater than the self. And whomever it is that created this certainly must know better than I, how to direct my life. I put my life in God's hands at that time."

Well it has been well documented that Palin was a fervent fundamentalist pain in the ass as a teenager so there may be a kernel of truth in this statement.

I actually managed to watch the entire interview with Tapper (Even though I am suffering from Palin fatigue.) and she managed to hit the same talking points about Bristol's pregnancy, her own "pregnancy," and how her faith in God helped her through both.

I now have a working theory that the impetus for this book was based solely on a, if you will pardon the term, brain storming session in whihc Palin and her advisers tried to think of a type of book that would get her onto various talk shows and that would tap into some of the conservative's deepest fears.

Defending Christmas fit the bill perfectly.

By the way you can see Palin's Fox and Friends appearance here, but I warn you it is pretty much the same pathetic pablum as all of the others. Palin only has a handful of talking points and she is already long past wearing them out.
