Michigan toddler finds gun in child care center, immediately exercises his 2nd Amendment rights.

Courtesy of the AP:

Police say a toddler accidentally shot and wounded two other children at a home day care facility in suburban Detroit.

Dearborn Police Chief Ronald Haddad says a preliminary investigation has determined that the toddler “accessed a handgun and the weapon discharged” at around 10:20 a.m. Wednesday.

Police said Thursday that the wounded 3 years olds are in serious but stable condition at a hospital.

Haddad says the gun was kept in the Dearborn home. Several other children were in the home at the time of the shooting. They were taken to the police station to be reunited with their parents.

No one has been charged. Police say investigators plan to meet with prosecutors to determine whether charges will be brought.

I guess I can kind of understand why somebody would want a gun in the house for protection.

Kind of.

But a gun in a home that also serves as a child care center?

And to leave it accessible to the children in your care?

No, that I will NEVER understand.

So now Dakota Meyer is claiming he is Sailor Grace Palin's dad and wants child support! Update!

Courtesy of TMZ:

Bristol Palin's new baby daddy may no longer be a mystery ... her ex-fiance says he's the daddy, and he's gunning for some serious custody.

Dakota Meyer flied legal docs, obtained by TMZ, in which he claims he's the biological father of 3-week-old Sailor.

Dakota wants a judge to award him joint legal and physical custody.

Bristol has never publicly revealed the identity of the father. She and Dakota broke up 3 months after conception.

Bristol's baby daddy wants one more thing ... child support.

Holy shit!

I will have to assume that Dakota got a DNA test and based on that wants to get his parental rights established and a little cash on the side as well.

Man you KNOW that Dakota is in for the fight of his life, but the great thing is that ALL of the sympathy will be with him, and if the Palins attack him they will be smearing an honest to goodness war hero.

I literally could not have made up a more satisfying scenario if I tried.

Update: So yes I visited Court View and Dakota did indeed file for custody with the Alaska courts.

I'm going to start popping the popcorn now.

More than two weeks after the fact Bristol Palin attacks President Obama by misrepresenting what he said. Drunk, tardy, and stupid is no way to go through life young lady.

Hey let's take a trip in the way back machine shall we?

Remember back around Halloween when the President said this:

"Too often parents have no choice but to put their kids in cheaper daycare, that maybe doesn't have the kinds of programming that makes a big difference in a child's development. And sometime there may just not be any slots, or the best programs may be too far away. And sometimes someone, usually mom, leaves the workplace to stay home with the kids, which then leaves her earning a lower wage for the rest of her life as a result. And that's not a choice want Americans to make."

And then afterwards the conservatives edited the remarks to make it sound like the President was  dissing stay at home moms, and oh did they have themselves a fine little freakout over that.

Well apparently somebody forgot to rouse Bristol from her alcohol induced slumber and she missed the entire thing. Oh the humanity.

But fear not, on Friday Bristol, with the help of the ever punctual Nancy French, penned a much too late, and completely unnecessary response.

It is essentially full of the same kind of stupid as those other conservative responses (Including one from her mother twelve days earlier.) were.

However it also adds this to give it that oh so personal touch:

As a single mom, I have to work. In fact, I drive to Anchorage every day and clock in and out — just to make sure I have a steady income to put bread on the table for my son. However, I don’t think that we should look down on moms who have the option of staying home!

Yeah, no she doesn't.  This job, which I assume is the same dermatologist office job that she has been bragging about for the last five years, is not a real job in the sense that she ever even has to show up for work.

How else to explain her ablity to take huge leaves of absence to do DWTS?

Not once..

but twice?

Or have her own reality show?

Or make that appearance on Celebrity Wife Swap?

No this is not the lifestyle of either a stay at home mom OR a working mother.

This is the lifestyle of a person whose family has millions of dollars to spend, and who has personally made over a million dollars herself by trading in on her mother's famous name.

The President was speaking of real workign families who have to scrimp and save in order to meet their monthly payments, and who sometimes have difficulty affording good childcare.

He was NOT speaking about a spoiled little brat, who convinced her boyfriend to impregnate her and then told the world he raped her, who drunkenly picks fights a parties and then claims to have been assaulted, and who flies all over the country appearing on various television shows while claiming to work a 9 to 5 job in an office in Anchorage, Alaska.

This would have been an ignorant post if it had happened two weeks ago, but now it is simply a pathetic cry for attention.

Really? Does anybody REALLY buy this line of BS? Update!

From People magazine:

"[My parents] are there for support when I need it emotionally, but I'm on my own financially. I work an 8-to-5 job, five days a week," Palin, 19, who's raising 16-month-old Tripp, tells PEOPLE. "My parents help out, but they're not at my disposal. I think that's a huge misconception."

Bristol's mother, Sarah Palin, the former Alaska governor and vice-presidential candidate, has earned millions since leaving office last July. But not a lot of that money is apparently going to buy diapers for Tripp.

"I'm doing it by myself," Bristol says. "I live by myself, I'm working to provide for [my son]. It is difficult. Financially, it's very difficult. I'd say the majority of any paycheck I ever receive is going to Tripp. Child care is very expensive, formula is expensive, diapers are expensive – and you don't think about that as a kid, at all."

Sherry Johnston in her own words.

Here is a brief clip of Sherry talking about how Bristol and Sarah keep them from seeing Tripp.

Sherry Johnston on not being allowed to see her grandson Tripp Palin from Dennis Zaki on Vimeo.

As of right now. today's date, the Johnston's have not seen Tripp in over a month.

THIS is the family that has been vilified by the Palins and their supporters.  I have talked to both Sherry and Mercede numerous times and have found them to be a very loving family.  And one that wants nothing more than to spend time with their grandson/nephew and are kept from doing so by Sarah and Bristol for no good reasons except vindictiveness and the desire to prove to the courts that Bristol is a
"single mother struggling to raise her child all on her own". And that is bullshit!

Both Sherry and Sadie have said they would watch Tripp ANYTIME Bristol needed them to.

Sherry told me "Bristol does not need to pay for childcare.  I would gladly watch my grandson for free every day if she would just allow it."
