It appears that Donald Trump is a little pissy that CNN will not run his commercial congratulating himself on his first 100 days.

Courtesy of Raw Story:

President Donald Trump’s campaign apparatus on Tuesday lashed out at CNN for allegedly refusing to air a commercial touting accomplishments made in the president’s first 100 days.

A memo from the Trump-Pence campaign announced on Tuesday that CNN had refused to air the commercial.

“FAKE NEWS STATION REFUSES TO RUN AD HIGHLIGHTING THE PRESIDENT’S FIRST 100 DAYS,” the document’s headline shouted.

“It’s absolutely shameful to see the media blocking the positive message that President Trump is trying to share with the country,” an anonymous quote in the memo complained. “It’s clear that CNN is trying to silence our voice and censor our free speech because it doesn’t fit their narrative.”

You guys remember that commercial don't you?

Gee, I have no idea why CNN will not allow that bullshit propaganda to run on their network.

Well Trump/Pence is right about one thing, this does indeed have to do with fake news.

Only the source of that fake news is not where they are claiming it is.

Donald Trump actually buys ad time to convince you that his first 100 days were awesome. No, I am NOT kidding.

I actually woke up to this thing today and had to stop and wonder if it was not an SNL skit that I missed or something.

"America has rarely seen such success."

"America investing in American jobs again.,"

"America becoming more energy independent."

"The biggest tax cut plan in history."

None of that, not one word of that, is actually true.

It is all a complete fabrication.

And Trump covers for that by adding this:

"You wouldn't know it from watching the news ("Fake News" banner prominently placed at this point.), America is winning and president Trump is making America great again."

Yes it is now so great that it is completely invisible to the American people, unless they attend his rallies or watch his commercials.

If ever there were any doubt that Donald Trump suffered from a pathological narcissistic disorder this should put those doubts to rest.

This is insane.

Commercial for Fairbanks bus service.

Alaska is well known for having some of the worst commercials of all time. (Think I'm kidding? Get a load of this guy.)

So it is nice to see a fairly humorous commercial that pokes a little gentle fun at Alaskans, while also advertising an important service.

By the way not ALL Alaska men look like that. Some of us are much hairier.

(P.S. Just for the record I would not live in that city if you nailed my scrotum to the Welcome to Fairbanks sign and left me to freeze to it overnight. No offense.)

"Tide To Go" commercial mocks opposition to marriage equality.

You know I sometimes wonder how ignorant people feel when their prejudices are openly mocked on TV shows or commercials.

I don't care of course, I just wonder.

MTV broadcasts fake commercial about racial disparity during Video Music Awards. Seems to have really hit a nerve with racist white people.

This courtesy of Inverse:

Turns out that the fictional White Squad was produced by MTV’s “Look Different” campaign, which aims to expose very real “hidden” (ha!) biases and tackle racial inequality. Skeptics may find it disingenuous, coming from MTV itself, but the ad does a brilliant job of exposing uncomfortable truths and targeting the audience that’s most likely to respond. Even white kids, who might not be aware of the discrimination their peers face, can look at White Squad and think, perhaps with a moment of clarity, “That’s fucked up.”

On the Look Different website, the creators admit: “The truth is, we’re all a little biased — even MTV.” Challenging those biases, they say, is the first step to creating a more equal future. Maybe White Squad just leveraged its privilege to help out people of color after all.

Personally I thought the video was somewhat humorous, but also unfortunately quite accurate when it comes to how certain ethnicities are treated by the system in America.

You can kind of gauge that accuracy by how pissed off it makes white folks who are, of course, totally NOT racist.

Courtesy of Addicting Info:

As you can see these perfectly normal, every day, totally NOT racist Americans, have a point that there is no racism until MTV (And of course President Obama.) creates some by constantly bringing the topic up for discussion.

Could not be more clear.

Franklin Graham calls for boycott of Wells Fargo because their new ad featuring lesbian moms is "being crammed down our throats."

Aw, that is just all kinds of sweet and adorable don't you think?

Well if you do you are a lesbian loving heathen pagan scum. Well at least according to Franklin Graham who is outraged, outraged I say!

This from Graham's Facebook page:

Have you ever asked yourself–how can we fight the tide of moral decay that is being crammed down our throats by big business, the media, and the gay & lesbian community? Every day it is something else! Tiffany’s started advertising wedding rings for gay couples. Wells Fargo bank is using a same-sex couple in their advertising. And there are more. But it has dawned on me that we don’t have to do business with them. At the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, we are moving our accounts from Wells Fargo to another bank. And guess what—we don’t have to shop at Tiffany & Co., there are plenty of other jewelry stores. This is one way we as Christians can speak out—we have the power of choice. Let’s just stop doing business with those who promote sin and stand against Almighty God’s laws and His standards. Maybe if enough of us do this, it will get their attention. Share this if you agree.

First off anybody who sees this commercial about two loving people adopting a hearing impaired child, and sees it as sinful is a fucking POS.

And secondly why the hell are these fundamentalist Christians always referencing things being shoved down their throats?

Personally I thought it was a lovely advertisement.

But then again why wouldn't I?

After all I was not raised to hate people because of who they love, what they believe, or how they look.

Taco Bell flashing commercial gives one million prudes the vapors.

Okay did you watch that and laugh?

Did you think it was cute?

Did you perhaps think "Boy I sure hope I'm that feisty when I'm that age?"

Well if you did then clearly you are immoral heathens. Because Monica Cole of One Million Moms was horrified, horrified I say, at this vulgar advertisement.

From the OMM website:

Taco Bell is following a trend in crude commercials. While a few fast food restaurants are cleaning up their ads, Taco Bell decided to air a new ad named "Flash" to advertise Chickstars.

The ad shows an elderly couple eating Chickstars in their car when the woman lifts up her shirt, implying she is showing her bare chest to the man. Showing a female flashing a man during a television commercial is completely inappropriate. This act has nothing to do with the food product.

Even if the couple is supposed to be married, this ad is in poor taste. It would be something children would duplicate. Everyone knows children repeat what they see. This disgusting advertisement is airing during primetime when children are likely watching.

You know I used to pity this group back when they were going after Ellen Degeneres because they simply seem to high strung to successfully navigate through middle age without their hearts exploding.

But now I've change my mind. Now I pity their spouses.

Could you even imagine having to live with a woman who takes offense at virtually EVERYTHING?

Wonkette presents Sarah Palin using a McDonald's commercial to attack the President. Does she never let up?

Courtesy of Wonkette:

Here’s what Sarah Palin thinks the McDonald’s ad should have said. Please keep in mind that this is ostensibly a scripted video.

"The last screen of the McDonald’s ad says ‘Choose Lovin’.’ Maybe it should add, ‘Yeah, choose lovin’, but c’mon, be smart, choose leaders that don’t cripple the economy, won’t penalize businesses, they can trust you, the business owner, and the worker, that you won’t cause unemployment to keep skyrocketing to the degree that people can’t afford Chicken McNuggets off that 99-cent menu.’ "

Wonkette called that bit "glorious" which if you are attempting to demonstrate how moronic this woman is certainly seems accurate.

What I noticed is that Palin borrowed liberally from the ad, which considering her own frustration over people borrowing her content, seems a tad hypocritical.

I also noticed that she had on her Nancy Reagan costume, in an attempt to convince her three subscribers that she is a serious person. Hah, good luck with that!

It also never seems to dawn on Palin that the reason McDonald's is having problems with sales is due to pink slimeself inflicted controversy, and concerns over the nutritional value of their product.

Blaming it on the President is the kind of stretching of the facts that the conservatives are famous for, and that Palin relies on to keep her name in the limelight.

It would be like me blaming Sarah Palin for John McCain's skin cancer. (Wait....nah!)

I actually saved this post for this morning, since yesterday we focused on the Iowa speech, and the fallout that followed.

Which just goes to show that there will always be something stupid that Palin says that can be used to illustrate her ignorance.

Sometimes I'm not sure if that's a good thing because it means that she is continuing down the road of self destruction, or a bad thing becasue it indicates that she is not yet completely destroyed.

Anti-obesity advertisement should be shown to ALL parents of young children.

This commercial hit me really hard.

Just last week I was in a discussion about the terrible food habits of a client of mine, and how important it was for his health to intervene. Some looked at me with blank faces until I started listing off the increased number of type two diabetes cases in Alaska, especially within our native communities.

This is actually a very troubling problem in the mental health field, since many professionals will use the promise of treats to motivate their clients and do not recognize the long term negative effects of using food, especially jink food, as a reward for appropriate behaviors.

I have been fighting this bullshit for years, but there are still a lot of very intelligent people who are simply looking for a quick fix to inattentive children, and are introducing a potentially life altering problem as a side effect.

Obesity is the leading cause of preventable death in this country.

Perhaps it's just me, but I would rather have an inattentive kid on my hands then to contribute to the early death of a child.

RNC decides the best way to go after Hillary Clinton is to unleash the squirrel. That's right, the squirrel.

Courtesy of the Washington Post:

The Republican National Committee is pushing back against all the 2016 buzz Hillary Clinton is getting, courtesy of her book tour with their own campaign. It involves a giant squirrel costume. The squirrel was first spotted — like its friend the fox — near the National Mall, wandering around outside a Hillary Clinton event at George Washington University. It was handing out "Another Clinton in the White House is NUTS" bumper stickers.

Okay so to be clear, the RNC is suggesting that voting for Hillary is a nutty thing to do.

And to drive home the point as to which party is the most mentally stable, they hire a guy to dress up as a giant squirrel and hand out bumper stickers?

You know maybe just to save time the Republicans could just concede the 2016 presidential election now.

Georgia GOP candidate takes using firearms in campaign commercials to a whole new level.

Okay seriously how microscopic must your penis be to require this kind of compensation.

It's like the Republican party is turning into a parody of itself these days. Five years ago this would have been a fake ad from the Onion or SNL, today it's dead serious.

There were lots of good Superbowl commercials yesterday, but only one freaked out half of the country.

I know, sweet right?

Wrong Commie!

Even Sarah Palin's favorite fake news guy got in on the act.

But hey, remember, the Right Wing is NOT racist.

You know if I was a betting man I would have expected THIS commercial to upset more people.  But what do I know?

Extra gum wants to moisten your eyes this morning.

Just between you and I, and please don't spread this around, let me tell you that I am a pushover for this kind of advertising.

My eyes tear up at just about every commercial that features parents and kids in heartwarming settings, and during tear jerker movies I am a damp eyed, snot encrusted basket case.

For that reason I usually avoid watching this stuff, but ever so often I see one that is so touching and sweet that I put on my big boy pants long enough to share it.

Now if you will excuse me I have to go watch some sports while working on a car engine.

Russian Tampax commercial.

Okay be honest, is the fact that I laughed at this for almost five minutes make me a bad person?

It does right?

Sweet pro-gay marriage commercial from Google.

Courtesy of Business Insider:

Before gay marriage became legalized in France last month, the folks at Google found a way to allow same sex couples to legally exchange vows: via a Belgian mayor conducting ceremonies in Google Hangout. Gay marriage is legal in Belgium.

The Belgian mayor has married Chilean couples on the Google video meeting platform as well.

Google made a tear-jerking ad about two French men, Marc-Antoine and Sebastien, who met in 1976 and have at last — thanks to Google — found a way to make their relationship official.

Yes I know it was just a commercial, but it was a very effective commercial.

A pretty damning anti-Mitch McConnell ad that a progressive group is trying to get on the air in Kentucky.

Okay that one is going to leave a mark.

If you want to help with the funding to broadcast it, you can do so by clicking here.

You know speaking of Mitch McConnell it looks like the Right Wing is so worried about the possibility of Ashley Judd challenging him that they have already started to do opposition research in order to stop her from even seeking the nomination.

Check out the "scandalous" information that the folks over at the Daily Caller dug up about the lovely potential challenger:

Here is a sampling of some of Judd’s most stunning comments:

— On her decision not to have kids with her husband: “It’s unconscionable to breed, with the number of children who are starving to death in impoverished countries.”

- On her comparing mountaintop removal to the Rwandan genocide: “President Clinton has repeatedly said doing nothing during the genocide in Rwanda in 1994 is the single greatest regret of the Presidency. Yet here at home, there is full blown environmental genocide and collapse happening, and we are doing nothing. Naturally, I accept that I set myself up for ridicule for using such strong terms, or perhaps outrage from human victims of slaughter.”

- On fathers giving daughters away at weddings: “To this day, a common vestige of male dominion over a woman’s reproductive status is her father ‘giving’ away her away to her husband at their wedding, and the ongoing practice of women giving up their last names in order to assume the name of their husband’s families, into which they have effectively been traded.”

- On the coal industry, which employees thousands of Kentuckians: “The era of coal plant is over, unacceptable,” she tweeted in October.

- On how Christianity “legitimizes” male power over women: “Patriarchal religions, of which Christianity is one, gives us a God that is like a man, a God presented and discussed exclusively in male imagery, which legitimizes and seals male power. It is the intention to dominate, even if the intention to dominate is nowhere visible.”

- On men: “Throughout history, men have tried to control the means of reproduction, which means trying to control woman.

You know perhaps it is just me but I don't think that is going to turn off as many potential voters as this dipstick thinks it will. Especially female voters.

But perhaps my favorite miscalculation from this article was their original choice to use the picture below to make Judd appear to be just another airhead with a pretty face.

They have since changed the photo. Perhaps due to the realization they might be perceived as sexist, or perhaps because they realized that if the appearance of Sarah Palin could get the horny male Republicans to show up at the polls in droves, this picture of the gorgeous Ashley Judd might have them jumping over to the Democratic side in order to pull their levers in her honor.

Now for something completely different. Perhaps the most chilling safety advertisement I have ever seen.

It is not often that a movie, commercial or short film, gets to me very often. But this one certainly did.
