Verizon removes the Sportsman Channel and Outdoor Channel from their lineup. Ted Nugent goes on Mama Grizzly Radio to bitch about it.

Verizon removes Sportsman Chanel, once home to Sarah Palin, and the Outdoor channel, which hosts Ted Nugent.
Warning this links to Breitbart:

Verizon FIOS scrapped Sportsman Channel, home to Amazing America with Sarah Palin, and Outdoor Channel, which runs Ted Nugent’s show. Kroenke Sports & Entertainment, LLC (“KSE”) owns both networks.

While Verizon cries low viewership, Nugent isn’t buying it. While appearing on Mama Grizzly Radio, Nugent pulled no punches. “Political correctness is choking the life out of the freedom in this country,” said the legendary rocker. “You’ve got a bunch of punks on the other side of the world that think that somehow in between barbecues the animals have rights—which is so absurd that Alfred E. Newman wouldn’t include it in the next issue of Mad aagazine because he’d be too busy flying over the cuckoo’s nest.”

Nugent went on to speak about Verizon and why they’re really taking away these channels rich in American tradition. “Anybody that’s against hunting, fishing and trapping, the Second Amendment, and self defense—you really have to be from some planet other than Earth,” said Nugent.

The Motor City Madman points to the “soullessness of those on the Left that are against truth, nature, God’s creation, and the perfection of tooth, fang, and claw that produces back straps to feed America and the world. It really is Planet of the Apes stuff when you’re against this kind of perfection.”

Well first off the fact that Nugent went on Mama Grizzly Radio to vent his frustration is hysterical all on its own, but the fact that he believes one cannot be a good American without murdering every animal that comes within a hundred yards of them is laugh out loud funny as well.

Of course the reason that Verizon dropped the two channels, which are both part of the Outdoor Sportsman Group Networks, was due to low ratings.

However Ted "Poopy pants" Nugent isn't having it.

“It’s a lie,” Nugent said. “It’s a political correct escape mechanism. Verizon is infested with anti-hunters, animal rights freaks, anti-gunners, people that don’t believe in self defense.”

Wow, I see that Nugent continues to barely cling to his sanity.

As it turns out the NRA agrees with Nugent (Well of course they do.) and they have issued a call to action.

Which since these are NRA members we are talking about I assume means they will be shooting their TVs.

Newly released behind the scenes video shows Sarah Palin pimping "Amazing America" to NRA News and demonstrating why she really needs good writers and a teleprompter to help her make any sense.

Okay talk about disjointed speech patterns.

Currently Palin supporters, and her daughter's ghostwriter, are touting her CPAC speech as an indication of the REAL Sarah Palin. However this behind the scenes interview proves just the opposite.

Palin is all over the place in this interview and seems to be having significant trouble completing one thought before she gets distracted by something else.

You know, like usual.

And Palin's ridiculous argument against the FCC's net neutrality move is almost too stupid to comment on.

By the way the "average citizen" rarely knows what's right when it comes to complicated problems. That's why we go to the experts.

Arizona newspaper takes issue with Sarah Palin misrepresenting the state in her "Amazing America" promo.

You all remember this video right?

After all we mocked it like crazy when it first came out in December.

Well it turns out that the folks in Arizona have a bone to pick with the promo as well.

Courtesy of the Phoenix Times:

Sarah Palin's new video ad for the Sportsman Channel's Amazing America show shows the former vice presidential candidate hitchhiking in the middle of the desert.

Except as every Phoenician would know, the right-wing celeb is actually in Central Phoenix, at Papago Park.

Palin's standing on one of the park roads used most frequently by bicyclists and walkers. If you saw a woman with a suitcase and a sign reading "America" on that road, you'd think she must have escaped from the Arizona State Hospital four miles away.

The ruse reminds us of the scene in the movie Raising Arizona when viewers see a shot of miles of Sonoran Desert that's supposed to be Tempe.

For a TV show that has enough budget to travel across the USA, you'd think whoever made this promo could have found a real stretch of lonely highway. But they apparently figured most of their viewers wouldn't know the difference between the middle of the country's seventh-largest city and a random spot of austere wasteland.

Hmm, it looks like the people of Arizona are getting as annoyed about Sarah Palin misrepresenting their state as we Alaskans have been for the last seven years.

And while we are on the subject of Arizona Annie (That's right Arizona, she's yours now.), it appears that she is once again being used as a measuring tool for determining just how bad Scott Walker is at answering simple questions.

And that of course is how far Palin has now fallen. Once an often discussed contender for the White House, and now a measuring tool for stupid.

I have a new favorite graphic.

I know this is a fantasy that will never happen in reality, but since Sarah WAS first considered for 2008 in response to a possible Hillary Clinton candidacy, how awesome would it be if the Republicans threw up their hands in defeat and figured they would simply put their most famous female conservative up against her?

I mean the debates alone would be some of the best TV ever broadcast into our homes.

And the late night comics would walk around with hard nipples until the night of the election.

Speaking of Hillary her numbers continue to amaze.

As for Palin believe it or not there are still a handful of diehard paint chip eaters who are still avidly raising money for her PAC:

Celebrate Sarah Palin’s 51st Birthday — This Money Bomb is a grassroots effort to ensure SarahPAC has the funds it needs to fulfill its mandates, help elect more common-sense Bold Colors Reagan-Palin conservatives in 2015 and 2016, including candidates in critical state races, special elections, and run-offs. SarahPAC has neither reviewed nor authorized this US for Palin Money Bomb.

And fantasizing the impossible.

Wow you really can fool some of the people all of the time.

As for Palin herself she is still pimping her crappy reality show on the Sportsman Channel:

This week’s episode of “Amazing America” has gone to the dogs. We attend the Texas K-9 Olympics where we learn more about K9s4COPs who specialize in raising awareness and funding for police K-9 training. Then we will see the great work being done by The Puppy Jake Foundation who train and place service dogs with our wounded warriors.

A show all about service dogs?  I wonder where they got that idea?

Oh yeah.

Sure going to Las Vegas was a bust for Sarah Palin, but at least Bristol had a good time.

Bristol got to meet Dakota Meyer, Medal of Honor winner, and possibly an even bigger liar than Chris Kyle.

She met former Green Beret Grady Powell, who now also works as a reality star.

She once again got to meet old poopy pants pedophile Ted Nugent.

She got to hold one of the dumbest trophies ever given. (However it must be noted that it was a dumb trophy that her mother's show Amazing America was not good enough to receive.)

And of course she was instrumental in helping to promote an image that insures that her mother's political aspirations are finished forever.

Yep, all in all it was a big weekend for Bristol.

Made even better I'm sure by the fact that Tripp spent the weekend with his dad and his new baby sister, allowing Bristol to go on a hunt for Lumbersexuals unhindered.

Don't worry men of Las Vegas, they have shots for that.

The interview with Sarah Palin during the SHOT Show is kind of a must see. Oh and she is teasing about 2016 again. Update!

My first question is what the hell is she on?

According to my sources the family is fairly bursting at the seams with drug users, but she seems particularly amped up. And she keeps shaking her head as if the sound of the marbles rattling around is in some way inspirational.

Here are a few of the crazier things she said.

When asked about firearm manufacturers:

"I love our American made firearms! Love'em!"

"I love that they're pro-military! They're loving our guys and gals out there protecting that second amendment right. So firearm industry. American. (Holding a thumbs up.) Right on."

Asked whether she thinks gun rights are going to be a big issue in the 2016 presidential campaign:

"They're always going to be a big issue because of the idiots who disrespect our constitution will do whatever they can to fulfill a lifelong dream of theirs, these far leftists. And that's to prohibit us from being able to protect ourselves with firearms. Just absolutely ignoring what our Founders intended. And what that second amendment is all about. So it's always going to be a huge issue. And anybody who's against the second amendment should not have any true blue American support  never, never. (Said through clenched teeth.) Doesn't matter what party they're in. If they have a problem with guns. We've got a problem with them."

Palin also took time out from slopping chili and promoting her stupid show to tease about running for President again.

Courtesy of Yahoo News:

Just before she heads to Iowa for the first major conservative showcase of the 2016 election cycle, Sarah Palin said “of course” she’s interested in the 2016 presidential election.

“Yeah, I mean, of course, when you have a servant’s heart, when you know that there is opportunity to do all you can to put yourself forward in the name of offering service, anybody would be interested,” Palin told ABC News' Neal Karlinsky while serving wild boar chili to the homeless in Las Vegas Thursday.

Of course a few paragraphs down in the story Palin offers her typical cop out.

“It doesn't have to be myself, but yes ... happy to drive that competition, because competition will make everyone better and produce more and be more candid regarding their solutions they will offer this country. I am very interested in that competitive process and, again, not necessarily me.”

Of course she's not running, and the MSM needs to quit asking her.

And if she tried she would have a hell of a time explaining away the picture of the day.

Here's a closeup of her signature as well as her handwritten "Yeah, FU Michael Moore."

Now there were a few sad Palin supporters trying to convince us that this was photoshopped earlier today, but then how do we explain this?

Or the fact that Bristol was so proud of her mother that she shared the photo on her ghostwritten blog as well?

Yeah riddle me that Batman.

No she knew exactly what she was doing, and without handlers around she went with her instincts.

Which for Sarah Palin is NEVER a good idea.

Update: It looks like Bill Maher has seen that photo as well.

With any luck he will address it on his show tonight.

Presenting the Sarah Palin version of "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas." Update!

Palin's first stop was to shake her skinny ass at the SHOT show to launch her second season of the truly terrible Amazing America series.

And of course you know who else was there. Yep old poopy pants himself.

And did I mention that Bristol was there too?

Well somebody has to help cover up those age spots and wrinkles.

Palin claimed that she was not there to talk politics, but you know that's bullshit:

“I’m not going to talk politics except to say the GOP had better go on offense. Man, they are not going to win any game on defense,” she told TheBlaze. “Being in the majority there in D.C. — we’re blowing it if we just bend our back.”

She added, “That GOP leadership, that establishment, they’ve got to get their stuff together. I love what they believe in, I believe in it too. But they’ve got to get tough, man. You know what? It’s not just the New England Patriots who are dealing with deflated balls right now.

Classy.

But then what would you expect?

Palin's second stop yesterday was to the Salvation Army in Las Vegas.

Here is more from UT San Diego:

Former vice presidential candidate and Governor of Alaska Sarah Palin was cozy in her Cadillac Escalade as it wheeled through a segment of Las Vegas few tourists and certainly very few politicians ever see.

As she approached the Las Vegas Salvation Army on 35 West Owens Ave., hard by the railroad tracks and I-15 -- actually, on the other side of the tracks -- she couldn’t help but see the people, families even, camped in tents and whatever shelter they could build on the sidewalks of D Street.

.....

Outside, hundreds of homeless lined up for their one big meal of the day, and on this day it was chili made with wild boar pork that Leysath ordered from Sierra Meat in Reno. Palin was a bit late, so Leysath and the Salvation Army crew and volunteers from the Las Vegas Police Department and Nellis Air Force Base started serving the needy before she arrived from the SHOT Show at the Sands Expo Center.

Fortunately Palin had no hand in the actual chili preparation which was handled by the Salvation Army's culinary students.

Good call Salvation Army.

Of course she was far more concerned with promoting her show than in feeding any hungry people. You know much like she is at home in Wasilla.

Never in all the events Leysath put on for the Sportsman Channel did he or anyone associated with the show see anything like the stir surrounding Palin’s appearance at the Las Vegas Salvation Army. She arrived with two bodyguards who looked as though they could be UFC or MMA stars. Upon arrival, she was sped off to a “green” room to get outfitted for the show and then led to the kitchen area to serve food. Local and national TV shows were there to follow her every move.

What in the hell does she need bodyguards for? Is she afraid one of the homeless people might actually try to touch her?

This was clearly an ugly day in the history of Las Vegas. And that is saying something for a place founded by mobsters.

Update: And here I thought she could not get any classier.

Okay is there ANYBODY on the planet that thinks that this person still has a shot at being elected President of the United States? I mean come on!

Sarah Palin is going to bore chilly homeless people in Las Vegas tomorrow. At least I think I read that right.

Courtesy of the Las Vegas Sun:

Conservative pundit and former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin will be in Las Vegas on Thursday to promote a new television show and serve food at a local Salvation Army.

The former Alaska governor and reality TV star is partnering with the Sportsman Channel for the Hunt.Fish.Feed program — the channel’s outreach effort to help curb hunger in America.

With the help of police officers and military veterans, Palin will be dishing up wild boar chili from 4 to 6 pm. at the Salvation Army at 35 West Owens Ave. The channel says its program has served meals to 25,000 people in 40 cities.

The channel dubs Palin, who has entrenched herself in punditry and popular culture after her failed vice presidential bid, as the “First Lady of the Outdoors.” She is well known for her love of shooting and other outdoor activities. She has her own show on the Sportsman Channel: Amazing America with Sarah Palin.

Oh I get it now.

Sorry, just the idea of Sarah Palin doing anything for the less fortunate, even as a promotion for her crappy reality program, is just really hard for my brain to digest.

You just have to know that the idea of serving boar meat chili is a desperate attempt to lend credibility to Palin's faux pig slaying on Nugent's wildlife farm by the way.

And speaking of laughable this whole idea of Palin being the "First Lady of the Outdoors" is ROFL worthy.  This woman despises the outdoors and can only cope with it if she has certain creature comforts provided for her.

You know like staying in a camper, having fresh coffee brought to her around the clock, and having all of the menial tasks like fishing, cooking, and building a fire done by somebody else.

You all do remember this episode of "Sarah Palin's Alaska" where she could barely manage to scramble up some rocks without a climbing harness and constant encouragement from the crew, right?

The only thing rugged about Sarah Palin is the skin around her neck.

Sarah Palin and her hoohah REALLY want you to watch the premiere of the second season of her crappy reality show tonight.

Airing out the hoohah before filming starts.
Courtesy of Palin's ghostwritten Facebook page:

I promise you’ll feel great experiencing the inspiration that true American heroes provide! We’re privileged to showcase them on season two of “Amazing America” – it kicks off this Thursday, Jan. 15th on Sportsman Channel!

Seriously the only way this show could make me "feel great" is if it featured Palin being trampled to death by a herd of rednecks running to collect their welfare checks.

You’ll meet all kinds of intriguing, entertaining, amazing Americans starting Thursday night on Sportsman Channel. Let me know what you think about this choice we present you for positive, family friendly programming that refreshingly brings good news into your home!

Did you hear that folks? She wants to hear what you think of " this choice we present you for positive, family friendly programming that refreshingly brings good news into your home." Whatever in the hell THAT means.

So if you DO happen to watch it then make sure to head on over to her public Facebook page and give her your honest, personally requested by Palin herself, opinion.

Then sit back and wait to see how long it lasts before it is removed.

Palin also has another Amazing America promo out which leaves little doubt as to what she believes is the reason that people will tune in to see her tonight. (Here's a hint, it's not her intellect.)

So Palin's message to our female youth is clear. If you want to get ahead you need to tramp yourself up and get a man to take you where you want to go.

Such a wholesome role model, don't you think?

New promo for Amazing America featuring Sarah Palin. I understand that every episode now features one of her family members standing on a helpless animal.

"You're the bad ass American guy?" Ted Nugent?

I think she means poopy ass American guy.

Thankfully I will be unable to watch and offer my views on the show again this year because apparently my cable company is rewarding me for the piles of money I send them each month and excluding it from my cable package.

Of course the question is not IF this show will suck again this season, but rather HOW HARD this show will suck this season?

Thursday, December 18, 2014

The Sportsman Channel is proud to announce that not only is the "Quitter-in-Chief" coming back for a second season but she will be joined by "Captain Poopy-Pants."

Courtesy of Variety:

Former Alaska governor and GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin will return to the Sportsman Channel for the second season of her reality series, “Amazing America With Sarah Palinm” at 9 p.m. on Jan. 15.

The series documents Palin as she travels the country to share stories with outdoor enthusiasts, craftsmen and other notable Americans. The Jan. 29 episode will feature rocker and outspoken conservative activist Ted Nugent, host of the Outdoor Channel’s “Ted Nugent Spirit of the Wild.”

“Ted Nugent is not only a rock ‘n’ roll icon, but a true American outdoorsman who practices what he preaches,” said Palin. “His outspoken candor regarding America and our civil liberties is a breath of fresh air. I’m so excited he’s joining me for an episode this season.” (Erp! That almost made me throw up in my mouth a little.)

Added Nugent, “Sarah Palin is a great American and a great friend to freedom lovers everywhere. She will go down in history as a strong, courageous freedom fighter for ‘We the People’ in this diabolical culture war. I am proud to stand with her.” (And that finished the job. Yuck!)

You know that phrase "You are judged by the company you keep?" Well in this case it is hard to tell whose reputation suffers more.

That is not all the company that Palin is getting this season either.

Season one co-host Jerry Carroll returns to the show with Palin, and 2006 Miss USA Tara Conner joins as a field co-host for the second season.

Okay well we know that this Jerry Carroll guy supplies the personality that Palin is lacking, and Nugent provides the actual hunting knowledge. But what does this Tara Connor person bring to the table?

Oh, now I get it. She brings the sex appeal that Palin is too old and used up to provide anymore.

If they are smart they will just give the show to the comedian and the pageant winner.

After all what exactly does Palin really have to offer these days?

Well it certainly isn't the sexy.

Sarah Palin's new promo for the second season of Amazing America has to be seen to be believed.

Courtesy of the Hitchhiking Harpy's Facebook page:

All roads lead to this Amazing hot new promo. Amazing America returns Thursday, January 15th at 9pm. Hop in for the ride. Exclusively on Sportsman Channel.

That's it? After three days of silence, that's it?

Gosh I'm so disappointed.

No venom laced post about Obama renewing diplomatic relations with Cuba. No ripping out her hair over his protection of Bristol Bay from environmental rapists. Not even a passive aggressive smackdown of Sony for bowing to North Korean hackers.

Nope all we get is this pseudo sexual MILFy rendition of the start of every other slasher/porn movie ever made.

By the way did anybody else notice that the video was vaguely familiar?

Oh yeah, Sarah Palin and Shania Twain. Like that's an appropriate comparison.

Sarah Palin's interview on EXTRA pimping the return of Amazing America is just as ridiculous as you might imagine.

I am simply not in the mood to attempt a transcript today so you will have to go to the link to hear the whole thing, but here is some of what Palin said courtesy of EXTRA TV:

Palin explained, "2016 is a long time away… that's a big darn deal when it comes to family."

This was in response to the invariable question about whether Palin is running in 2016 or not. (Spoiler alert: She's not!)

Thompson asked, "Hillary Clinton's name has been floating out there for a long time as the Democratic nominee. Are we ready for that?" Sarah responded, "I would love to see a woman on both sides of the aisle shooting for that top spot."

"Shooting for that top spot?" Oh look more gun metaphors.

As for the second season of "Amazing America with Sarah Palin," Palin said, "There's so much to show… we're going to focus a lot on those who are reaching out and helping others. We're going to showcase a lot of these people who can inspire others to get out there and live vibrantly. It's about work ethic, but still keeping that connection between faith, family, and love of freedom. That's America!"

Some day, some reporter is going to have the balls to ask Palin just what in the hell she means by "living vibrantly." Because unless it means "living drunkenly" I don't think it relates to her family's way of life.

Palin also shared that her family is doing well. "My family is awesome. Perhaps they have some kind of target on their back because the liberal media types, they do not like constitutional conservatives who are going to call it like they see it and speak truth. So they'll do whatever they can to get you to sit down and shut up, but I'm not wired to sit down and shut up."

That may be but according to those police audio tapes from the brawl the family is programmed to fall down and drink up.

And just to be clear the family does not "have a target on their backs" because they are "constitutional conservatives," which by the way I don't think any of them really are.

They attract attention for doing crazy disruptive things, or because Palin herself draws attention to them in order to hide behind, make them promote one of her pet issues, or, in Bristol's case, use their blog to attack the President.

Essentially this interview was just the same old crap as usual.

I did however notice that the wind was making Palin's wig super obvious. At one point she reaches up to fix her hair, and then stops right above the bangs so as not to knock the wig loose.

If it had taken flight this might have been the most entertaining Palin video yet. Perhaps even better than the Thanksgiving turkey slaughter video.

Well, maybe.

Sarah Palin is nothing if not predictable. Update!

Yesterday when I posted that photo of Palin with a dead boar, with a link to Bristol's blog where she mentioned a "rock Star," a bunch of you put two and obvious together and determined that she must be visiting Ted Nugent's Spirit Wild game farm.

And you were right.

Here is the blurb under that picture from the Motor City Moron's Facebook page:

Had a wonderful day with Sarah & Todd Palin at our home on SpiritWild Ranch in TX today. Great Americans, great people, great patriots & great warriors on the side of good in this vile culture war against the America haters & subfleebs on the mongrel left. I presented the good Governor Palin with a phenomenal custom blackpowder rifle created by our Spirit BloodBrothers the LaCasse family at the Gun Room in Portland OR

Jesus, this guy makes me sick!

But hey who would you expect Palin to pal around with except a pants pooping pedophile with a gun fetish? I mean really?

So now we know who most likely killed this poor animal.

Update from Teddy's Facebook page:

It's never too early to get into the gungho Christmas Spirit, is it? I mean, Merry Merry Happy Happy Christmas Holidays to everyone everywhere. And tho Im certain you all celebrate these special Holidays with much gusto, Im afraid NO ONE celebrates it quite like the Nugent Tribe. Ho Ho Ho, BloodTrails in the snow, a merrily we all go! DoubleLive SantyClause is dead YOWZA!!

Oh yeah, Nugent is a real piece of work.

Saturday, December 06, 2014

Well it's official, Sarah Palin is finally back to work standing in front of a green screen and pretending to know about hunting and the outdoors.

Apparently Charissa Thompson, a reporter from EXTRA, is tweeting about going "hunting" with Sarah Palin as a promotion for the second season of Amazing America.
Welcome for what exactly?
Gee riding a horse just like her idol Ronald Reagan. I'm sure it's just a coincidence.

Ten bucks says there will be no footage of her horse running or galloping, and that in every scene it will only be walking slowly along with a pack of handlers nearby in case it gets spooked.

Personally I am dying to see how they film her fake hunting scenes.

Hmm, I wonder if they will use CGI this season?

Sarah Palin wishes the country a happy Veterans Day while pimping something called "The Sportsman Channel." Now why does that sound vaguely familiar?

Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue Vajazzled one's Facebook page:

Happy Veterans Day! Enjoy this short video honoring the sacrifices of America's finest.

We're gearing up to show the country a new season of "Amazing America" on the Sportsman Channel, so be prepared to get your Red, Wild & Blue on! - Sarah Palin

Wait, the Sportsman Channel is still a thing? Hell I almost forgot mocking the channel nobody watched before she gave us the "Sarah Palin Channel" to mock.

Well it will be nice to have it back now that the Sarah Palin Channel is all covered with a thin layer of dust and cobwebs from lack of use.

I also could not help but notice that in the video Palin makes sure to push that combat veteran mythology:

"You know you can see his spine stiffen, and you can see him stand a little taller when he gets that little bit of recognition for what it is that he has CHOSEN to do. He has volunteered to, in some respects, put the rest of his life on hold in order to fulfill a duty to protect America."

Yeah, nice story lady, but that is not the way that Joe McGinniss reported Track's enlistment in his book "The Rogue:" (Pg 113-114)

"Track was in pretty big trouble,” a friend of his tells me. “The school bus thing, theft issues, drugs, multiple stuff. Sarah was governor by then, and Track posed too much risk in terms of PR. So she and Todd sat him down and told him he was going to enlist. They said, ‘You’re gonna do this because you owe us. This is gonna look good for us and you’re gonna do it.'”

Sarah made it look even better by arranging the enlistment for September 11, the seventh anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon. On September 11, 2008, Track was deployed to Iraq, allowing Sarah to proclaim forever after that she was the proud mother of a combat vet. Some might see this as classic example of taking the lemon that life gives you and using it to make lemonade.

I talk to the state trooper who drove Sarah and Track to the enlistment office in Anchorage on September 11, 2007. “There was quite a bit of emotion in the back seat of that car,” he tells me, “but patriotism was not one of the emotions."

Yeah that certainly fits better with what people in Wasilla say about Track, and might help to explain why a little alcohol turns him into a drunken thug willing to take on all comers only to have his ass kicked in public. (You know once he gets that nice shirt of first of course.)

Nice try Sarah, but it would be nice if you could take a day off from shoveling the family mooseshit, on the day that we are supposed to be honoring out fighting men and women.

Have some class.

"Sarah Palin's America" to be replaced by "America Unplugged" starting June 5.

Courtesy of Multichannel News:

With Amazing America with Sarah Palin about to end its run, Sportsman Channel is getting “unplugged” with a new original series about people living off the grid.

Premiering June 5 at 8 p.m. (ET) America Unplugged, hosted by former U.S. Navy SEAL Cade Courtley, will look at the stories of eight Americans who have chosen to live off the land, including generating their own electricity. The network says about 400,000 Americans are living off the grid.

Marc Fein, executive vice president of programming and production for Sportsman Channel, says Amazing America, featuring Palin, the former vice presidential candidate, generated big increases in viewership in its timeslot from a year ago. It also generated buzz for the network. There have been renewal discussions, but no decision has been made at this juncture.

Now this does not mean for sure that Palin's show is off the air permanently.  However considering how hard the Sportsman Channel pushed this show in the beginning it is a little odd that they seem uncertain as to its fate.

I have to say that I would be surprised if it came back considering that it only started in April, to lukewarm reviews, and that it has garnered very little attention even though Sarah Palin herself has been in the news multiple times since its premiere.

By the way, what kind of a series only lasts two months?

I think the best answer to that question is, a terrible one.

Thursday, May 15, 2014

Surprisingly Sarah Palin's Amazing America show is still on. Wait, seriously?

I swear that I had heard so little about this show recently that I sort of thought perhaps it had simply stopped production and I just had not heard about it yet. (According to IMBD even the people who bothered to watch it only gave it a 4.9 out of 10.)

But nope, apparently it is still being churned out as if there is actually an audience for it.

This is how Palin described tonight's upcoming episode:

Innovation found only in the USA! You know, an AR-15 makes a great gift – what more says, “I love you”? Eh, you may disagree, but catch tonight's all new episode of Amazing America and see Stag Arms show their stuff (including introducing the world to the first commercially available AR-15 for left-handed folks) and you'll envy Benny as he stops in to play! Speaking of firearms, here's your quote for the day if asked why law-abiding Americans would own the means for protection against violent lawbreakers (and who'd take self-responsibility by supporting concealed carry) – fire away with this one: “I carry a gun... because a cop is too heavy to carry!”

Wow, left handed AR-15's. How......completely unnecessary.

On a day with posts about people getting killed testing bullet proof vests, a navy firearms instructor calling for increased gun control, and an ex-law enforcement officer and 2nd Amendment advocates demonstrating exactly why that is so desperately needed, Sarah Palin's contribution to the debate is a remark like, "I carry a gun...because a cop is too heavy to carry?"

Just helping to illustrate the mindset of the anti-gun control crowd I guess.

Speaking of mindset this was a post I noticed on her Facebook page today:

We are all sure of the fact that if Sarah were President: Ambassador Stevens would be enjoying dinner right about now, Iran would be saying "Yes, Ma'am", gas would be a buck lower due to an operational Keystone.

Boy it sure is a good thing that cognitive dissonance is not fatal!

Interestingly enough Palin never did congratulate Ben Sasse and Pete Ricketts on their primary victories the other day. Hmm, I wonder why.

Friday, May 02, 2014

Okay you can cancel that APB on Track Palin. Somebody dusted him off and had him pose for a picture.

As you all know recently on IM there has been some discussion of the fact that nobody had seen Sarah's oldest unplanned child lately.

There was even some talk that old warrior body had been dealing with some substance abuse problems. (You know actually I might have mentioned that, come to think of it.)

Well now all of a sudden, and surely simply due to coincidence that has NOTHING to do with things said on this blog, Track has emerged from the shadows.

Okay this is close enough now just take the damn picture!
And here is what Palin had her ghostwriter post about this photo, and few others that accompanied it:
Here's a peek into our spectacular day yesterday with Sportsman Channel as we enjoyed "Gettin' a Little Mud on the Tires!" The honorable Dakota Meyer joined us in Alaska to get our Red, Wild & Blue on! Dakota is our Medal of Honor Recipient who has never stopped serving our amazing America. It's a pleasure to highlight him in an upcoming “Amazing America” episode. He's one tough and talented hardcore outdoorsman, and you'll be inspired as you get to know this Marine even better, watching him behind the wheel on rugged ATV treks, swapping hunting stories with my dad, working with my son Track to put floats on Todd's plane (the lake ice went out early!) and getting his fill of snowmachine wrenching in the shop with Track and Todd – we're trying to talk him into becoming an Iron Dogger!  (Iron Dogger? I don't really think that's a word.) Another great sport joining us was Mario Lopez from Extra! Adorable, athletic, such a good sport bogging through some wilderness on ATVs; he’s patriotic and the most energetic reporter we've had the pleasure to work with! Really, it was a great spring day with exemplary Americans who love to get outside and live life vibrantly. Thank you, Dakota; thank you, Mario; and always a big thank you to Sportsman Channel for giving us uplifting family fun on that great network! “Amazing America” airs on Thursday nights at 8pm E/P on Sportsman Channel.

 - Sarah Palin

As you can see Todd and Track look totally comfortable in each others presence, as if they spend hours a day together simply discussing how blessed they are to be married/related to the effervescent Sarah Palin.

From everything I hear Track refuses to allow Palin to use him or his image, unless he gets compensated in some way. So I think it is a safe bet to assume that there was an exchange of money that took place before that picture was snapped.

Palin also posted this to prove that she still has it and that her "milkshake brings all the boys to the yard."

You know that and the opportunity to attract ratings.

I don't know, old sour milkshakes just don't do it for me. I'm guessing my gag reflex would kick in.

Much of the Wall Street Journal's piece on Sarah Palin's new show on the Sportsman Channel focuses on her fear of taking a bad picture.

What Sarah Palin apparently considers a "good" picture.
So today this article from the WSJ came out.

They ask her the usual questions about her views on the new show, her views on politics, hunting, the family, you know the drill.

However the first part of the article focuses on something that we know Palin REALLY cares about. Her appearance:

Sarah Palin is walking through a suite in the Peninsula New York Hotel in midtown Manhattan trying to find the great outdoors. The former GOP vice presidential candidate is being photographed before the launch of her new reality series, "Amazing America," which features human-interest tales about outdoor adventures, ranging from a blacksmith championship to a car race among pastors. But the suite doesn't even have a landscape painting. She finally finds a window to pose in front of, but it's facing a brick wall, not the wilderness.

Crammed into two tiny rooms with eight other people—including her husband and two handlers—Ms. Palin doesn't want to be "burned" by unflattering photographs, which has happened in the past, she says. Wearing a V-neck shirt, black skinny jeans and a glittering "Girls with Guns" belt and buckle, she also doesn't want to wear the camouflage jacket that the photographer has brought for her, nor will she succumb to his French charm. She certainly doesn't want to perch on any furniture.

As the photographer clicks away, Jason Recher, a former George W. Bush aide and her longtime aide, tries to move things along. "Next frame, next frame, next frame," he says, glancing over the photographer's shoulder. Ms. Palin has a busy schedule this day. She has had back-to-back meetings and appearances, and over the course of the hourlong interview and photo shoot, she drinks several glasses of Diet Coke.

Gee I wonder which photos she feels "burned" her?

Personally I can't think of a one.

The article does explore a few other areas of course.

Here is her answer as to why she did not run in 2012:

"Too busy," she says quickly. "Young family, busy family, lots going on, and today there's still a lot going on."

Oh yeah, that was the reason. It certainly couldn't have anything to do with the fact that she could not weather any serious media scrutiny or answer a simple question without notes, a teleprompter, or a hidden earpiece to provide her the answers, right?

On government surveillance:

"Snowden isn't the problem!" she says. "The American government spying on its own people is the problem!" She finishes her thought by saying, "The smaller the government, the bigger the people, and this show talks about big, bold, beautiful America."

Notice how she fails to mention that it was HER party that started the domestic surveillance  program, and that there was not a word against it from her, or any other Republican, until President Obama took office.

At the end of the interview they finally talk her into having her picture taken with the camouflage jacket:

Ms. Palin's own defenses have slightly weakened over the course of the hour, so she finally agrees to put on the camouflage jacket. Standing in front of a white screen next to the bathtub, she holds her lapels and alternates between a tough-lower-lip-jut and a nervous glance at her strategist. "I think it's too big," she says of the jacket, adding, "I wanted to wear black." Mr. Recher seconds this opinion. He wants to get her out of the marble bathroom so that he can whisk her down the hall to her next appointment.

So essentially what we learn from this interview is that Palin is still incredibly vain, continues to lie about why she has refused to run for office, and that Jason Recher is still able to speak with his lips firmly attached to Palin's wrinkled ass.
