Anonymous Republican Congressman goes on angry rant against Donald Trump.

This was apparently a conversation that Red State's Erick Erickson had with a GOP politician still serving in the Congress, but completely fed up with his party's president.

“If we’re going to lose because of him, we might as well impeach the motherf**ker,” the unnamed Republican Congressman we’ll call “Rep. X,” supposedly said to Erickson. 

Erickson says Rep. X continued his rant, saying, “dammit he’s taking us all down with him. We are well and truly f**ked in November. Kevin [McCarthy] is already circling like a green fly circling sh*t trying to take Paul’s [Ryan] job because nobody thinks he’s sticking around for Nancy [Pelosi]. She’s going to f**k up the cafeteria again too. [Lord’s name in vain], at least I’ll probably lose too and won’t have to put up with that sh*t.”

“It’s like Forrest Gump won the presidency, but an evil, really f*cking stupid Forrest Gump. He can’t help himself. He’s just a f**king idiot who thinks he’s winning when people are b*tching about him. He really does see the world as ratings and attention. I hate Forrest Gump.” 

The House Judiciary Committee “just might pull the trigger if the President fires Mueller,” Rep. X supposedly said. “The sh*t will hit the fan if that happens and I’d vote to impeach him myself. Most of us would, I think. Hell, all the Democrats would and you only need a majority in the House. If we’re going to lose because of him, we might as well impeach the motherf**ker. Take him out with us and let Mike [Pence] take over. At least then we could sleep well at night.” 

Rep. X calls Vice President Pence “competent.” 

“I say a lot of shit on TV defending him, even over this,” Rep. X tells Erickson. Erickson describes the Congressman as someone who defends Trump on Fox News and in public but obviously has a different personal opinion. The media and Democrats on Capitol Hill often say many Republican lawmakers oppose Trump in private, but won’t in public. (There are several words for that.) 

“But honestly, I wish the motherf*cker would just go away. We’re going to lose the House, lose the Senate, and lose a bunch of states because of him. All his supporters will blame us for what we have or have not done, but he hasn’t led. He wakes up in the morning, sh*ts all over Twitter, sh*ts all over us, sh*ts all over his staff, then hits golf balls. F*ck him. Of course, I can’t say that in public or I’d get run out of town.”

I believe this could be almost ANY current GOP member of Congress.

In fact I think you would be hard pressed to find any Republican politician who would support Trump off the record.

I don't typically post an entire article from another website as it is bad form.

However I did not know which parts to leave out of this one, and the entire thing is just too awesome not to share.

I could not bring myself to link directly to RedState as I despise them, and think Erickson is a cockroach.

However I would really appreciate it if you would give Raw Story a visit, and perhaps even click on an ad or two.

They do good work over there and deserve the clicks.

An American blogger has taken a shot at the New York Times in protest of its call for tighter gun controls in the aftermath of the San Bernardino shootings. 

Erick Erickson, founder of blog RedState, shared on Twitter an image of the newspaper – complete with seven bullet holes. 

Protesting an editorial piece called ‘The Gun Epidemic’, the first to appear on the NYT’s front page since 1920, Erickson said: “The United States suffered its worst terrorist attacks since September 11 and the New York Times' response is that all law-abiding citizens need their guns taken away. Screw them.” 

Erickson also attempted to start a social media campaign: “I hope everyone will join me in posting pictures of bullet holes in the New York Times editorial.” 

He urged those against stricter gun laws to use the hashtag #EERS. At the time of publication, there were no submissions.

Of course after this Erickson made the rounds of Right Wing news outlets, including Fox News, because those are places where stupidity is revered and celebrated.

Talk about a circular right-wing firing squad: Donald Trump; the marginalia at Breitbart Snooze; RedState's Erick Erikson & Co.; Sarah Palin; and her eldest daughter (aka Palin-Lite), are all going after each other in the ultra-rightwing blogosphere, and it's tempting to just sit back and watch the fur fly. Talk about some truly WWE material suitable for drive-in viewing. Where in the hell is Joe Bob Briggs when you need him? 

Let us see if it's possible to set the stage, which is a theatrical euphemism, because this conflagration is taking place in the middle of a cesspool of grand dimensions. If hypocrisy and deceit were bullshit, you could float the proverbial battleship in the muck. And the stench would spread all the way to Alaska's Matanuska-Susitna Valley and back again. 

In the wake of what was clearly a sexist and misogynistic attack by Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump on Fox News' Megyn Kelly -- is there really anyone who can argue otherwise? Really? -- Erikson courageously barred Trump from attending his annual RedState Gathering in Atlanta. Erickson was then unceremoniously attacked by that paragon of integrity and political insight, Palin-Liteweight, who charged Erickson with running a "demeaning fake photo" of her mother.

 Damn this picture is certainly getting a lot of attention lately.

I bet Palin wishes somebody would pay this much attention to her ACTUAL chesticles.

This entire article is awesome, start to finish, and Geoffrey has a great deal of fun pointing out how ridiculous this whole thing really is. And oh yes he also accurately identifies the fact that Bristol Palin's words, are not in fact Bristol Palin's words: 

The Real Palin, who, as I noted here in HuffPost with rather perfect prognostication, was avoiding the Kelly-Trump scuffle, sent out one her pups -- or more accurately one of her pups' ghost writers -- to enter the fray, so that there was no serious blowback on her. And as I accurately noted -- because the person I cited in Alaska had actually identified Palin-Lite as his source (I spared Lite that little embarassment the first time around), absolutely confirmed my speculation that there was no longer any love lost between Mama Grizzled and Faux News. How do we now know with certainty? Because Palin-Lite's ghost writer went after Fox's Chris Wallace and the Big Bad Wolf himself, Roger Ailes. 

Hell -- and Wasilla -- hath no fury like a Palin scorned.

So this post by Erick Erickson is really all about this photo on the right, and his reasons for not taking it down from his site sooner back in 2013.

But the picture was a scam and it was inappropriate and I should have acted immediately. So I’ve been kicking myself to figure out why I did not act sooner. (Really? Kicking yourself?)


Unfortunately, going back into my calendar, I know why I was slow to respond. I was in the hospital on July 1, 2013, with my wife. I had to rush her to the emergency room that day and was out of pocket that day and the next, though even while attending to my wife made sure to mount a defense of Governor Palin.1 I was the only paid employee at RedState at the time and one of the only Palin supporters on the front page of RedState by 2013. The contributors were telling me the picture was real, I was in the hospital, and I went with trusting the guys I’m surrounded with every day and who I’d empowered to decide these things while I was tied up. 

I am sorry the Palin family has held on to this for so long. (Oh they hang on to EVERYTHING, believe me.)


I certainly meant no offense and tried to respond as quickly as I could to it, but was limited at the time due to my own family circumstances. I certainly do not fault them. They have come under attacks from all sides and I can only imagine they must have, then and now, had concerns about who were fully with them and who are just using them and who hate them. (I think I'm in that last category.)


I mounted Operation Leper after the 2008 defeat to drive from politics those from the McCain campaign who engaged in character assassination on Sarah Palin. A few years ago, Nichole Wallace credited me with turning her into an author because of Operation Leper. 

I have not always agreed with Governor Palin, but have always tried to defend her and her family, including when the creepy author moved next door and the CNN anchor found an assault on Bristol Palin to be comedy and including the day after that questionable post went up when I was trying to get Christy back on her feet. (So a long time Palin ass kisser huh?)


I really am sorry that they did not know the reason it took so long to respond and I am really am sorry that hurt feelings have lingered on for more than two years. I understand, given what the Palin family has gone through, and am sorry there are those who want to continue to drag them through the mud. I have certainly never wanted that for them. They are good people. (Hah!) I wish I had known about this before now so I could have told them why it took so long. 

Hang on I have to sit with my head between my knees for a bit to fight the nausea.

Well it looks like even though Palin has virtually no supporters left, and has now become an international joke, she was still able to turn Erick Erickson into her little bitch.

I mean seriously how does this tragic little man even look at himself in the mirror without being disgusted with himself?

Well I imagine that over at the Palin compound Sarah is on the phone with Nancy French exchanging war whoops and celebrating the fact that they can still emasculate a sad little excuse for a man if they put their minds to it.

Personally I never had any respect for Erick Erickson in the first place. But now?

Now I'm ashamed that we even share the same gender.

The Palins and their ghostwriter gleefully double down on their attack on RedState.

I actually stumbled across the fact that this petty feud was not over because Palin had a link to it on her Facebook page, with this additional blurb:

A mama grizzly warns Erick at RedState: "Don't take on a Palin kid; when family's had enough don't expect the kids to retreat either." 

Look she's writing for herself again.

She then linked to Brancy's blog where Nancy French was going to town on Erick Erickson and RedState: 

Don’t act dumb and put your hands up in the air now, Mr. Erickson. I called you out for the hypocrisy you have shown Mr. Trump, by suddenly acting like you are the standard bearer of decency toward women. 

What, do you ask, is the “good deed” that Wolf is talking about? He helpfully linked to an article in which RedState denounced David Letterman making a joke about raping one of us underage Palin daughters. (Aha! So they admit that Letterman was talking about Bristol, and not Willow!)


Gee, that was a tough ethical call there, RedState. 

To paraphrase The Princess Bride, when it comes to good deed, “You keep using that phrase,” RedState, “But I do not think it means what you think it means.”

I hate to admit it but I kind of agree with Nancy French/Bristol Palin/Sarah Palin here.

I know, frightening isn't it?

She is dead right that Erickson's statements about Trump's misogyny were hypocritical. And that was pointed out by various news outlets.

However what is also true is that Palin herself is guilty of similar hypocrisy, in that she has complained about sexualized comments directed at her while calling Lena Dunham a pedophile, attacking Miley Cyrus for using profanity (Glass house Palin.), and insinuated that Joe McGinniss moved next door to peer into Piper's bedroom while she was changing knowing full well that was false. (He received death threats over that.)

I will give Brancy credit for one observation in this post however, and that is this one:

The picture of my mom sitting on Santa’s lap, with her apparently perky boobs hanging out, is CLEARLY photo shopped. Anyone can point that out from a mile away. 

Yes, because Bristol knows what her mother's breasts REALLY look like.

And of course so do we.

Does Greta Van Susteren realize she works for Fox News? Update!

Who are these people?

So yesterday Greta posts this on Gretawire:  

We are a big nation with different viewpoints. We won’t always agree…but a strong debate is helpful when we disagree. Sometimes if you are smart in your debate, you persuade someone who otherwise had disagreed with you. 

And then there are the creeps who take cheap shots because they are too ignorant and small to engage in an important discussion. The best they can do is make themselves look really bad. No one should pay any attention to them – they are not persuasive, they are noise, and in some instances boorish and obnoxious. I suspect this guy feels that he makes himself relevant or even important if he says or tweets like this. I just roll my eyes and wonder what is going on in his head! 

I don’t care how much you disagree or agree with Texas’ Wendy Davis, you have to agree that this guy, Erick Erickson, is a real jerk and is really lousy at being a spokesperson for his views:

She's not wrong.

In fact we tore into those making remarks like Erickson's on this blog our own darn selves. 

The difference of course is that my audience is made up of highly intelligent compassionate critcial thinkers, and Greta's audience is made up of...well it's made up of these people:  

Greta: A very disappointing and totally inappropriate response to Erickson. He has called out Davis for what she is and you instead want to tiptoe around that fact. Extraordinary and precipitous fall from your usual professional coverage of the news. Highly disappointing. Micro-Potemkin Davis continues to lie and camoflage herself with her victim story and you attack Erickson? Shame on you; in this case you have thrown in your lot with the Progressive herd-thinkers of the rest of the media. More of this kind of reporting and I turn off your program. 

Greta! Abortion Barbie = Wendy Davis...she has been called that since her trick in TX, her claim to fame trying to murder 3rd trimester Texas babies. Why do you slam EE for slamming that murder princess? She DESERVES worse! You are defending her because she's a woman? That's just as bad as a Christian Black man voting for a communist obama because he's Black...and very stupid! 

Greta, maybe you should take a timeout with L Ron Hubbard in his spaceship circling the Earth. 

Greta, I think you and Megan Kelly on women's ' issues lately are really off the mark. First Huckabee on Sunday , now this. Your a big girl you have been in the world long enough to have thick skin as a women. I will no longer watch Kelly as I did t care for some of her comments 1 about Hannity and he is to blame for conservatives having a bad name, the other where you and she took your male colleagues to task over the bread winners comment. She is out in my book, I personally feel you and she have blown things up . And here we go again. Looks to me like we have 2 chatty cats. Showing their own insecurity. It is what it is greta. She is an abortion Barbie, so maybe this should be a wake up call to women instead of an insult, men say what they say and end it. Many women keep beating a dead horse to win their point. I see their point, and they are right. Personally greta , if I were Megan's boss or yours, I would have given both of you fare warning, any snide remarks about your co workers in the press or on Tv I would terminate your contact. If you can't play with the big dogs , stay on the porch! 

Greta, you "stepped in it" on this one, and even demonstrated an apparent propensity for self-aggrandizement... you know, the ol', "I'm the 'Grand Poo-besse' who's so big, important and 'busy with other stuff', that I don't but vaguely even recall hearing this peon's name (E. Erickson) before. Oh, well.... off with his head." 

Erickson is highly regarded, and most assuredly his opinions are read by a goodly number of our better "real" conservative leaders. You might have a fine and enlightening colleague in this fellow if you could step down from the self-perceived (only) throne from which you believe to rule.

You can almost feel the love can't you?

I have to imagine that when Greta wrote that post she expected that the majority of visitors to her blog would be on her side, instead about 95% of them were going for her jugular.

What she, and the rest of us, need to realize is that the Right Wing is made up of people just like Erik Erickson, and attempting to reason with them, or convince them to be more reasonable, is a complete waste of time.

Update: Erickson responds to Greta in a typically vile manner:

Erickson responded by posting “A Very Sincere Thank You” to Van Susteren Monday night. 

“Wendy Davis believes it is perfectly acceptable to crack open a child’s skull, inject her cranium with saline, vacuum out her brains, then tear her limb from limb unstitching her from her mother’s womb even though a minute, an hour, a day, a week, or a month later she could survive outside the womb,” he insisted, engaging in a common anti-choice trope of equating any fertilized egg — even a ten-day-old blastocyst — to a fully viable fetus. 

“Wendy Davis has staked her career on the right to chop a child to bits, no matter how viable the child is,” he wrote, referring to Davis’ 13-hour filibuster against a draconian Texas anti-choice law that would make abortion illegal de facto by closing the bulk of the state’s clinics. 

“Wendy Davis is a one issue wonder heralded by the press because she is a high priestess of the secular religion’s sacred sacrament — slaughtering children on the altar of Moloch. That Greta Van Susteren is offended by me, thinks me creepy and a jerk, and thinks I should not be listened to is of no harm or consequence to me,” he wrote.

Erickson's description of abortion in this country is just about as dishonest as his characterization of Wendy Davis. A woman, by the way, that is so out of reach for a knuckle dragger like Erickson that her success must emasculate him to his very core.

The attacks against Davis indicate to me that she is absolutely terrifying these idiots. I think I will send her a check.
