Donald Trump is driving young Republicans away from the GOP.

Courtesy of McClatchy:

As the Trump presidency hits the one-year mark, the Republican Party confronts a yawning generational gap that has been exacerbated in recent months by Trump’s incendiary comments on race-related issues and the party’s official support for an accused child molester in Alabama’s Senate race.

Now, as few as a quarter of voters under the age of 30 approve of Trump’s job performance. And among young Republicans, Trump’s approval rating has plummeted 12 percentage points since the spring, according to Harvard’s Institute of Politics poll released last month, down to 66 percent. That’s certainly robust, but well below Trump’s overall GOP approval rating that hovers around 80 percent.

“In a sentence, they are certainly not doing well,” said John Della Volpe, the polling director at the Institute of Politics. “That would be an understatement.”

Gee, funny that a vulgar, racist, habitual sexual abuser would not connect with today's more enlightened youth now isn't it?

Going to have to start spraying this liberally around the ole IM comment section.

Russian bots, Trump trolls, Hillary haters, we have been getting them all lately.

But that's fine, that only means we are doing our job.

Indiana Republicans request "Obamacare Horror Stories." It does not go as expected.

After this appeared on the Indiana Republican's Facebook page the responses started pouring in:

  • My children with significant health issues were able to obtain coverage regardless of their pre-existing conditions. Oh, the horror.
  • I have several pre-existing conditions and was stranded in a job I hated because it provided good insurance. The ACA gave me the freedom to quit that job and try to do something with my days that made me much happier without worrying that I would lose.
  • My kids had health insurance until they were 26. Two of them had a hard time finding jobs that offered benefits, and since they could stay on my plan, they were able to take some jobs that did not offer insurance. This gave them experience for other, better jobs. Thanks ObamaCare!
  • Nothing changed for us and we kept our doctors.
  • Our good friend in his early 40's was diagnosed with kidney failure and thanks to the ACA was able to have transplant surgery and is living life again instead of stuck at home on dialysis multiple times a day.
  • Let's see ... had not had health coverage since getting cancer while on COBRA back in 1997, and finally got coverage again from ObamaRomneyHeritageCare in 2014. OH THE HORROR IN HAVING HEALTH COVERAGE!
  • The Horror story is that the IGNORANT TRUMPsters want to take away health care from people who are basically happy with it. Why can't we have the health care that these corrupt politicians have while we work harder than they do to pay for their healthcare.
  • My niece Karla had seizures, all her life. Obamacare let her be on her parents insurance until 26. The Dr. gave her a needed operation and paid for her child. That she would not have been able to have or live through. Thanks Obamacare for her and baby Zozie.
  • Wow. I came to this page to find out what Republicans voters in Indiana are finding about problems with Obama care. I couldn't find a single post unfavorable to Obamacare. What do the Republicans who want to repeal the ACA think about this? Are there any among those who vote Republican?

I actually went quite a way through the comments looking for some that support the repeal and replacement of Obamacare.

I'm sure they must be there someplace but I certainly did not see them.

You would think this might convince the Republicans that touching Obamacare is a bad move.

But if they realized that would they really be Republicans?

Literally.

Okay so I live in this amazing place surrounded by breathtaking wilderness, but I rarely actually take advantage of that fact.

I mean sure I like to go hiking in the Glenn Alps near my house quite often, and I have certainly spent a lot of quality time camping in years past, but lately I have not really done that many "Alaskan" things.

So when a friend offered to take me fishing my first thought was "Don't they sell those things already breaded and shaped like little sticks?"

But then this thought occurred to me: "Gryphen when was the last time you sat in a river getting eaten by mosquitoes and trying to catch one of your slimy evolutionary precursors so that you could bludgeon it to death on the floor of a leaky boat? Seriously how can you pass this up?"

And is turned out I could pass it up pretty easily actually, but then my friend kind of shamed me, and nobody shames me except my mother who apparently never forgets anything. So right now I am sitting on a river somewhere in the MatSu Valley uncomfortably close to the home of you know who hoping that crazy bitch never learned how to use that rifle scope.

"It looks like bloggers are back on the menu boys."
Seriously I am not really worried about "you-know-who." Especially when I can instead worry about the very real possibility of drowning, being eaten by a bear, or getting a fishhook through my eyeball.

Now since this is me, you can all rest assured that there is more to this story.

However it is something that I have to keep under wraps for a little bit longer.

But once I get to talk about it, holy shit!

I will try to check my comments as often as I can but since I am in the Valley, and I think they are still communicating with smoke signals and bird calls, it may be intermittent.

The post Bristol Palin's ghostwriter put up about her cancelled wedding goes viral.

Not to brag but I actually knew this whole thing was doomed when I first saw this picture.

So yesterday, as you all know, Nancy French typed out a completely flat and uninformative post about Bristol's cancelled wedding.

Today the various online news outlets took notice.

Those included the Huffington Post, US Magazine, Radar Online (Who insist on calling Levi a "deadbeat dad," which is not remotely true.),  Fox News, People Magazine, and the list goes on.

Most of the articles are fairly cut and paste, but the comments are a potpourri of Palin bashing and outright mockery.

For my part I have kept my ear to the ground since Bristol stumbled back into Wasilla, and from what I have heard Bristol seems to be mostly relieved, but also not at all certain about what comes next.

She is also treating herself to various extravagant purchases, and outings with friends, to take her mind off of all the online publicity.  And possibly to thumb her nose at her mother.

However if past is prologue that will mean that Bristol will soon focus all of her attention on her son, and that does not bode well for anybody who she feels keeps them apart.

You know like his dad, who of course now has court appointed time with him.

Levi and Sunny might want to batten down the hatches, because this could get nasty.

Alaska Dispatch tackles the Amy Demboski divorce story, but now I am left with more questions than answers.

As I begin this post I first must confess that I personally never went through the Dempsey/Hyatt divorce file myself down at the courthouse.

Instead, as I reported, I received a call from Bill Fulton about this case, who then sent me the documents that I shared on IM.

It was he and others who did the actual legwork (Except for some internet sleuthing that I did on my own later.), and it was they who decided that I should be the person to take point on the story.

Bill has been a very reliable and honest source of information for me going back a few years now, and I have come to trust him.

We of course realized that once the story was posted that other news sources would do more digging, and invariably come up with information that we did not know. And that's indeed what has happened.

Yesterday the Alaska Dispatch followed up on the story and found some interesting facts.

For instance they learned that Demboski, then Amy Lynn Hyatt, was also in the Air Force when she got married.

Now that is interesting because Demboski was described by her father as "The most military kid that he knew." However she never mentions her service to her country in the biography at her own website:

I graduated from Chugiak High School in 1994 and went on to attend UAA. While working full time, and raising a family, I earned Bachelor’s degrees in Justice and History. I subsequently obtained an MBA, with an emphasis in Finance, from Columbia Southern University. I have spent the majority of the past 20 years employed in the private sector right here in Alaska. My responsibilities included building and managing multi-million dollar businesses. Currently, In addition to representing the Eagle River area on the Anchorage Assembly, I am responsible for the overall management, business development and operations of a business with multiple locations in Alaska.

See? No mention of serving in the military. How odd.

She also of course fails to mention her previous marriage and subsequent dissolution.

The Dispatch also claims that in the beginning of the proceedings that Hyatt and Dempsey claimed there was no child:

Among the statements in the petition the couple swore was true was this: “There are no minor or dependent children born of or during this marriage or adopted during this marriage, and the wife is not now pregnant.”

And that later there was a forged document which admitted to a child, but claimed that Dempsey was not the father:

A document purportedly signed by Dempsey that sought to amend the initial filing with a reference to the pregnancy and an assertion it was not his child was a “forgery by someone else,” Shortell declared.

Dispatch has a statement from Dembosky insisting that it was not a forgery but in fact a notarized document from Dempsey. Which, as previously stated, declared that he was not the father.

That must refer to this document:

Which read in full:

"I, Christian M. Dempsey, being duly sworn do hereby depose and say: (And this next part is hand written.) that I am not the father of the child to be born to Ms. Amy L. Hyatt in July 1996."

Dembosky also told the Dispatch this:

Demboski said she joined the military when she was 18, and married Dempsey while she was in technical training. She said she and Dempsey were deployed to England, and she became pregnant with her daughter. She said she moved back to Alaska for health reasons. She said she received an honorable discharge from the military.

But see now all of that is confusing because the first of the documents I received was this one from April 2, 1996:

Which clearly states:

(resident 10/95 married, no child, 7/96 due) (resident never lived w/Mr., Mr. not the father.)

So they were both stationed in England after being married, and they did not live together?

And as you will notice there is already a statement that Mr. Dempsey is not the father.

Like I said confusing.

Also according to the Dispatch the first attempt at a dissolution did not take, so there was another more successful attempt filed on April 24, 1997, AFTER the child was born.

In this case apparently Dempsey did accept that the child was his, despite working so hard to disprove it in the initial case.

However he also stated that he was unaware of the child's birth until four months after the fact and, though he agreed to pay support, he did not ask for any visitation rights.

That seems more than a little odd. Almost as if in the end he gave in to pressure, but still knew the child was not really his.

Demboski also told the Dispatch that she did not lie under oath, did not remember anything about forged documents, and that she did not remember it took two tries to finally end her first marriage.

Uh huh.

Like I said this article raises more questions than it answers in my opinion, but the one thing that is made crystal clear is that we do NOT want to elect this person to be the mayor of my city.

No way, no how!

Which, if you take a moment to scroll through the comments under this Dispatch article, seems less and less likely.

You ever have one of those nights?

For those confused as to what happened with the simple little Happy Birthday Tripp post on Saturday night, let me explain.

Originally I had the Sea of Blue post scheduled for that last slot at the end of the night.

However when I visited Facebook to see what my family was up to I happened to see a post from Mercede wishing her nephew a happy birthday.

"Oh yeah it's Tripp's birthday" I thought so I quickly put up a simple post wishing him a happy birthday, which I have done several times in the past. No biggie.

After that I kind of turned away from my computer and started doing other work while watching Netflix in the background.

At around 8:04 I received a comment suggesting that Tripp's birthday is actually two days away.

Wait, what? So at this point I have also had a glass or two of wine and am exhausted and not thinking at all clearly.

So I Google Tripp's birth date and find this. In my somewhat bleary eyed state all I do is read the date, which is December 29th, and think "Oh crap I might be premature." (The article actually says that Tripp was born on Saturday which would have made it the 27th. But hey. who reads the articles?)

I then went to my post on the day that we all learned that Bristol gave birth, and once again only read the date it was posted, December 29th. (The actual ADN article listed the birth date on the 28th. More confusion.)

So at this point I have confused myself completley since I am literally running on fumes. In response I quickly write a post saying that I might be wrong, and how weird it is that Mercede would have Tripp's birthday wrong.

Then I post that and go back to Facebook to ask Sadie about it. When I get there I see that Sunny has also wished Tripp a happy birthday and talked about spending the day with him to celebrate.

After that I changed the post once again to what most of you saw Saturday night and Sunday morning.

When I woke up in the morning I went back to see where I had screwed up and was able to figure out where I had, if you pardon the term, tripped up.

Tripp's birthday is, and always has been, December 27th. Which is something I have known because I have wished him a happy birthday several times in the past.

So let me apologize for my rather confusing post, and remind all of you that drinking and posting never mix.

I would also like to mention that though I may have bungled my birthday post for Tripp, at least I took the time to make one.

As of right now neither Bristol nor Sarah have bothered to do the same.

P.S. For those of you who are curious about the next post coming from my source, I will let you know that I sent her a list of the questions that many of you left in the comments and she has responded. I am still working on followups and clarifications, but the post is planned for January 2nd which will place it outside of the holiday slow period when blog traffic is traditionally down.

Posted on Sarah Palin's Facebook page. Just in case you forgot she was a racist.

Source
I guess the message here is that the riots and looting that resulted from the verdict in Ferguson were carried out by undocumented immigrants? Is that it?

Or is it simply suggesting that any illegal activity that is carried out mainly by non-white people will soon be excused by executive order from our non-white President?

Well, either reason is pretty ugly. Which means I guess that Palin has finally completed her metamorphosis into every family's racist old aunt who is always using Facebook to send derogatory messages and racially insensitive memes to other family members.

Of course her fans certainly eat it up with a spoon:

Goes with his undocumented citizenship

I WOULD NOT PUT IT PAST HIM TO ISSUE AN INSANE ORDER SUCH AS THAT. THIS PRESIDENT SADLY IS NOT OPERATING WITH A FULL DECK. HE IS HARBORING A LIFETIME FULL OF HATE FOR THIS COUNTRY, THE VERY COUNTRY THAT HAS GAVE HIM THE OPPORTUNITY TO BE WHERE HE IS AT TODAY. SAD

Sounds like something he would do.

Impeachment this worthless president

Yep she knows her demographic alright.

Just to set the record straight on who attracts the ugliest comments, this blog or Right Wing blogs.

As everybody who visits here regularly already knows, one of the consistent charges leveled at commenters here and myself, is that we lie about conservatives and are hateful people who attack people "we don't even know."

The point is also made that liberals are the worst when it comes to saying hateful things on the internet.

Of course that is completely false.

I am not saying that liberals are always paragons of virtue who never say a cross word about anyone, because of course that would be a lie. However if you REALLY want to see some ugliness you have to go no further than any number of Right Wing news outlets and blogs all over the internet.

Which is exactly what a writer over at a site called Propaganda Check did.

They went to Breitbart.com. And this is what they found in the comments section:

Oh and did I mention the racism? Yeah, there is a LOT of racism.

Hmm, a certain Mama Grizzly seems a bit grumpy today.

So Palin posted this video of an ex-Army Sergeant throwing out the first pitch of a baseball game to her Facebook page, with the word "Hoohah!" (Which I think means vagina.)

Apparently this started some bickering among the paint chip eaters.

In response Palin then posted this:

UPDATE: Hey, knock it off. I posted a cool, inspiring video to brighten your day and to honor our vets. I didn't make the video nor did I title it. This honored vet is introduced as ARMY; that's why I captioned it "Hoohah!" Amazing how something fun and positive can be turned negative by either folks looking for something to be hatin' on or those just not paying attention. Now, don't make me pull a mama's chewing out on you! Enjoy the video! Hoohah!

Now for the life of me I cannot remember a time when Palin lashed out at her followers on Facebook.  And trust me they same some truly stupid shit.

Which kind of makes me wonder why Palin might be a little testier than usual today.

Anybody have any idea why?

Anybody?

In the least shocking news of the day, it turns out that internet trolls are sadists. I know, right?

Courtesy of Psychology Today:

In this month's issue of Personality and Individual Differences, a study was published that confirms what we all suspected: internet trolls are horrible people.

Let's start by getting our definitions straight. An internet troll is someone who comes into a discussion and posts comments designed to upset or disrupt the conversation. Often, it seems like there is no real purpose behind their comments except to upset everyone else involved. Trolls will lie, exaggerate, and offend to get a response. What kind of person would do this?

Canadian researchers decided to find out. They conducted two internet studies with over 1,200 people. They gave personality tests to each subject along with a survey about their internet commenting behavior.

Now there is more information in this article about how they conducted the study, and their specific finds, but it was this last part that caught my attention:

Trolls truly enjoy making you feel bad. To quote the authors once more (because this is a truly quotable article):

"Both trolls and sadists feel sadistic glee at the distress of others. Sadists just want to have fun ... and the Internet is their playground!"

So next time you encounter a troll online, remember a few things. (1) These trolls are some truly messed up people and (2) it is your suffering that brings them pleasure, so the best thing you can do is ignore them.

So keep all of that in mind my friends the next time some troll posts a poorly worded defense of the Palins, insults all IM visitors, or simply takes a shot at yours truly.

Always remember that THEIR lives are so pathetic and devoid of happiness, that the only way they can give their lives any meaning is by making you angry at them.

A little behind the scenes info for visitors to IM.

The other day somebody was asking if there was an alert to let people know when I am about to put up a new post.

Simply put, nuh uh.

However I am nothing if not a creature of habit. And if you have been paying attention you should have recognized a rather obvious pattern.

I almost always put up seven posts a day. (Occasionally that number drops by one or two, but that is the exception to the rule.)

Before I go to bed at night I write three robo-posts that will publish while I am in La La Land.  One at 2 AM, one at 4 AM, and one around 6 AM. (Though I am usually awake before this last one hits the internet.)

I also have my I-Pad on the bed next to me, like a totally non-cuddly teddy bear, so if you see that comments have been published in the middle of the night that is often because I had to get up and pee, or had that nightmare where a hairless, floppy breasted, Sarah Palin tries to seduce me again. ("Oh God, oh God, make it stop!")

When I finally do wake up, which is usually around five, I immediately stumble into my office and fire up the old computer and then continue upstairs to start my morning coffee. (It's a bitch when I get these two confused.)

After that I come back downstairs, where I sit at my desk and peer through my bleary bloodshot eyes at the monitor to start sorting through the comments that I did not get through the night before.

After I have finished that I stumble back upstairs, often tripping over my daughter's dog, and then get a cup of piping hot inspiration juice.

Back downstairs and the day officially begins.

I also have an actual job so that is often what I work on for the majority of the morning, but I do like to type another post before 9:00 AM my time. (I also fit in an hour and a half or two hour workout in there as well at least five days a week.)

My usual modus operandi is to put up a post every two, two and half, or three hours.

Usually that goes something like this:

2 AM Alaska time (6:00 AM EST)
4 AM Alaska time (8:00 AM EST)
6:15 AM Alaska time (10:15 EST)
9 AM Alaska time ( 1:00 PM EST)
12 PM Alaska time (4:00 PM EST)
2:30 PM Alaska time (6:30 PM EST)
4:30 PM Alaska time (8:30 PM EST)

If you go back several days you will see that I adhere to this schedule almost religiously.

Now what this does not take into account are stories that break during the day which require an immediate response, updates to posted stories as new information becomes available, and of course comments that arrive any damn time they want which add interesting details or clarification to a post.

So hopefully this will be of some use for those who are worried that they are going to miss anything earth shattering.

However this does NOT mean you should stop obsessively checking IM every five minutes. Because then I'll start to miss you, and that's not good.

The Drudge Report links to an article about the big opening of the newest "Planet of the Apes" movie this weekend. What happens next will disgust and anger you.

There you see the link at the bottom.

No biggie, right? I mean after all the Drudge Report covers all kinds of breaking news, not just news that undermines the President or attacks Democrats.

But check out what immediately shows up in the comments over at the Hollywood Reporter which have to be seen to be believed.

There's more but I am to disgusted to post them. You can find the rest here.

Of course there is no actual proof that these comments came from devotees of the Drudge Report, but it is dead certain they did not come from readers of any progressive blogs or news sites.

This is exactly the kind of racism that conservatives are always denying that they tolerate.

Yet when the internet offers them anonymity.......

Does Greta Van Susteren realize she works for Fox News? Update!

Who are these people?
So yesterday Greta posts this on Gretawire:

We are a big nation with different viewpoints. We won’t always agree…but a strong debate is helpful when we disagree. Sometimes if you are smart in your debate, you persuade someone who otherwise had disagreed with you.

And then there are the creeps who take cheap shots because they are too ignorant and small to engage in an important discussion. The best they can do is make themselves look really bad. No one should pay any attention to them – they are not persuasive, they are noise, and in some instances boorish and obnoxious. I suspect this guy feels that he makes himself relevant or even important if he says or tweets like this. I just roll my eyes and wonder what is going on in his head!

I don’t care how much you disagree or agree with Texas’ Wendy Davis, you have to agree that this guy, Erick Erickson, is a real jerk and is really lousy at being a spokesperson for his views:

She's not wrong.

In fact we tore into those making remarks like Erickson's on this blog our own darn selves.

The difference of course is that my audience is made up of highly intelligent compassionate critcial thinkers, and Greta's audience is made up of...well it's made up of these people:

Greta: A very disappointing and totally inappropriate response to Erickson. He has called out Davis for what she is and you instead want to tiptoe around that fact. Extraordinary and precipitous fall from your usual professional coverage of the news. Highly disappointing. Micro-Potemkin Davis continues to lie and camoflage herself with her victim story and you attack Erickson? Shame on you; in this case you have thrown in your lot with the Progressive herd-thinkers of the rest of the media. More of this kind of reporting and I turn off your program.

Greta! Abortion Barbie = Wendy Davis...she has been called that since her trick in TX, her claim to fame trying to murder 3rd trimester Texas babies. Why do you slam EE for slamming that murder princess? She DESERVES worse! You are defending her because she's a woman? That's just as bad as a Christian Black man voting for a communist obama because he's Black...and very stupid!

Greta, maybe you should take a timeout with L Ron Hubbard in his spaceship circling the Earth.

Greta, I think you and Megan Kelly on women's ' issues lately are really off the mark. First Huckabee on Sunday , now this. Your a big girl you have been in the world long enough to have thick skin as a women. I will no longer watch Kelly as I did t care for some of her comments 1 about Hannity and he is to blame for conservatives having a bad name, the other where you and she took your male colleagues to task over the bread winners comment. She is out in my book, I personally feel you and she have blown things up . And here we go again. Looks to me like we have 2 chatty cats. Showing their own insecurity. It is what it is greta. She is an abortion Barbie, so maybe this should be a wake up call to women instead of an insult, men say what they say and end it. Many women keep beating a dead horse to win their point. I see their point, and they are right. Personally greta , if I were Megan's boss or yours, I would have given both of you fare warning, any snide remarks about your co workers in the press or on Tv I would terminate your contact. If you can't play with the big dogs , stay on the porch!

Greta, you "stepped in it" on this one, and even demonstrated an apparent propensity for self-aggrandizement... you know, the ol', "I'm the 'Grand Poo-besse' who's so big, important and 'busy with other stuff', that I don't but vaguely even recall hearing this peon's name (E. Erickson) before. Oh, well.... off with his head."

Erickson is highly regarded, and most assuredly his opinions are read by a goodly number of our better "real" conservative leaders. You might have a fine and enlightening colleague in this fellow if you could step down from the self-perceived (only) throne from which you believe to rule.

You can almost feel the love can't you?

I have to imagine that when Greta wrote that post she expected that the majority of visitors to her blog would be on her side, instead about 95% of them were going for her jugular.

What she, and the rest of us, need to realize is that the Right Wing is made up of people just like Erik Erickson, and attempting to reason with them, or convince them to be more reasonable, is a complete waste of time.

Update: Erickson responds to Greta in a typically vile manner:

Erickson responded by posting “A Very Sincere Thank You” to Van Susteren Monday night.

“Wendy Davis believes it is perfectly acceptable to crack open a child’s skull, inject her cranium with saline, vacuum out her brains, then tear her limb from limb unstitching her from her mother’s womb even though a minute, an hour, a day, a week, or a month later she could survive outside the womb,” he insisted, engaging in a common anti-choice trope of equating any fertilized egg — even a ten-day-old blastocyst — to a fully viable fetus.

“Wendy Davis has staked her career on the right to chop a child to bits, no matter how viable the child is,” he wrote, referring to Davis’ 13-hour filibuster against a draconian Texas anti-choice law that would make abortion illegal de facto by closing the bulk of the state’s clinics.

“Wendy Davis is a one issue wonder heralded by the press because she is a high priestess of the secular religion’s sacred sacrament — slaughtering children on the altar of Moloch. That Greta Van Susteren is offended by me, thinks me creepy and a jerk, and thinks I should not be listened to is of no harm or consequence to me,” he wrote.

Erickson's description of abortion in this country is just about as dishonest as his characterization of Wendy Davis. A woman, by the way, that is so out of reach for a knuckle dragger like Erickson that her success must emasculate him to his very core.

The attacks against Davis indicate to me that she is absolutely terrifying these idiots. I think I will send her a check.

Wonkette has a little more fun with Bristol Palin's constant internet defender.

"OMGD, they're talking about me again. If only I had my very own batshit crazy troll to defend me."
Courtesy of Wonkette:

We don’t know what it is about Bristol Palin, but that girl has got herself some fans. Or one fan who won’t stop writing to us. Our short piece yesterday about the child custody lawsuit filed by Manly Alaskan Sperm-Thrower Levi Johnston only drew about 70 comments, which is about right for a one-paragraph story. But it also filled our comments queue with 20 attempted comments from would-be Levi-n-Bristol defender “Lovefirst21,” whom we’ll assume is a new incarnation of “Livefree601,” who previously defended Bristol as “literally the most amazing and strongest woman out there.” Once more, she (? — perhaps we should not assume?) wants us to know that some things are simply beyond the Palin, and should never be said:

"Nice slander. Tripp Palin is an amazing little boy with the maturity of a kid twice his age. Way to go Bristol. Top notch! I’ve never seen a 4 yr old who is always happy and so adaptable."

Yes. Tripp Palin, a child who is known to Lovefirst21 primarily through the teevee, is a wunderkind, and the only reason he’s not already in 3rd grade is that the government schools simply don’t recognize his brilliance. Why is he not yet on a ballot or a payroll somewhere?

Funny stuff but it pales in comparison to the troll's  (Or as we know her Kristy Patullo) actual comments.

Like these in reference to Levi:

Yet he’s the one who started the nasty battle :/

Levi did exploit BOTH kids while Bristol was actually working. Thankful for good mothers.

Actually, he was desperate to marry Bristol as he was obsessed with her. He did once say that.

I feel sorry that his father ever made this part of his life public. There’s a reason custody cases aren’t public domain. The inherent bitterness in all of them don’t deserve outsider opinion. But God bless Bristol Palin and her well-raised boy

Or these in reference to Tripp:

He’s the happiest of kids, living a normal life. School, activities. The only difficulty might come from a alienating stepmom who can’t see her husband as the loser he was not too long ago.

LOL All jokes aside, the reality is, Bristol’s son is a blessed, happy boy with a devoted mother and a father who’s finally matured.

Libel. Get a life. Bristol is a remarkable mother raising a lovely boy who beams with love

Tripp is literally the most blessed child. Never without smiles and nurturing. These comments are just wrong.

Libel? Oh yeah, that's our batshit crazy troll alright.

Gee it kind of makes me wish I has saved all of the comments and e-mails she has sent me over the years instead of deleting them, having holy water sprinkled on my hard drive, and hiring a Native American Shaman to wave burning sage over my computer while chanting.

Oh well, I am sure I will have many more opportunities to do so in the future.

(A trip down memory lane.)

Author of book about Rupert Murdoch reveals that Fox News used fake accounts to leave comments on blogs to counter bad press or plant pro-Fox propaganda. Gee, really?

Courtesy of Media Matters:

NPR media reporter David Folkenflik writes in his forthcoming book Murdoch's World that Fox News' public relations staffers used an elaborate series of dummy accounts to fill the comments sections of critical blog posts with pro-Fox arguments.

In a chapter focusing on how Fox utilized its notoriously ruthless public relations department in the mid-to-late 00's, Folkenflik reports that Fox's PR staffers would "post pro-Fox rants" in the comments sections of "negative and even neutral" blog posts written about the network. According to Folkenflik, the staffers used various tactics to cover their tracks, including setting up wireless broadband connections that "could not be traced back" to the network.

A former staffer told Folkenflik that they had personally used "one hundred" fake accounts to plant Fox-friendly commentary:

"On the blogs, the fight was particularly fierce. Fox PR staffers were expected to counter not just negative and even neutral blog postings but the anti-Fox comments beneath them. One former staffer recalled using twenty different aliases to post pro-Fox rants. Another had one hundred. Several employees had to acquire a cell phone thumb drive to provide a wireless broadband connection that could not be traced back to a Fox News or News Corp account. Another used an AOL dial-up connection, even in the age of widespread broadband access, on the rationale it would be harder to pinpoint its origins. Old laptops were distributed for these cyber operations. Even blogs with minor followings were reviewed to ensure no claim went unchecked." [Murdoch's World, pg. 67]

In the book's endnotes, Folkenflik explains that "four former Fox News employees told me of these practices." It's unclear whether these tactics are ongoing.

As the owner of a liberal blog let me help with that question. Yes they are still using those tactics.

So for all of you who wondered if you were being paranoid in thinking that there were people paid to come here and defend Sarah Palin, nope you weren't.

Hey, who let the Bristol Palin troll out of her cage?

I don't know how it happened, but it looks like somebody left the gate open and look who showed up over at Wonkette:

There are some days when Yr Wonkette is very glad that we do not allow comments. Because if we did, we might find ourselves with bucketloads of comments like these, from “Livefree601″ on the topic of Bristol Palin, teen mom and Planned-Parenthood Dismantler:

"She’s literally the most amazing and strongest woman out there. Who else could remain that strong in the face of haters and slanderers? AND she’s still the fully devoted mommy to the most blessed little boy"

And this:

"She’s literally the strongest person out there and the most loving mommy. Such a lucky little boy. Motherhood suits her. And at the end of the day, she’s not fake and doesn’t act like life is perfect".

And nine or ten more. Literally. They aren’t all like that, but it’s just hard to get past how sad it is that somebody out there has decided that their hero is Bristol Palin. Most of Livefree601′s comments appear to be replies to other comments, so we can only guess at the context; apparently, they do NOT appreciate the idea that Bristol Palin, literally the most amazing strongest woman out there, went and got knocked up through unprotected sex. That is a dirty lie, says Livefree601, because you see, “she planned her pregnancy with her friends.” Livefree601 says this three times, which frankly is a new one for us — we knew that her then-boyfriend, wossname, Wrangler or whatever, claimed in his bad remaindered book that Bristol anger-humped him to get with child after she learned that her mom was preggers, but we’d never heard anything about her being in one of those ‘pregnancy pact” things — which were an urban legend anyway.

The real question, of course, is why would that make any difference? If Bristol Palin planned to get pregnant at 17, as part of a 4-H project with the Wasilla Meth Club, that somehow makes her a brave paragon of intentional teen pregnancy? And that makes her crusade to close women’s clinics a good thing? We do not understand the logic here.

Actually for anybody who has been reading here, or over at Sadie's blog, for the past few years the idea that Bristol got pregnant on purpose is old news. However apparently Wonkette did not get the memo even though Sadie said as much in her Playboy interview.

My question however is what possessed Kristy to leave the homey atmosphere here at IM to wade into the serpent's den of Wonkettte? I mean THOSE people don't fuck around!

And boy did she spread the crazy! Just take a look:

Actually, her 1 pregnancy was planned, as her friends’ were. You may want to actually know what you’re talking about before you speak.

Notice that her 1 pregnancy in her life was planned. So go home you ignoramus.

Get a life. Notice THEY are all employed and living their solid lives, NOT attacking strangers as you are.

Nice hateful comment. Why don’t you shut your mouth or get to know someone. BTW, Bristol’s a perfect example of the double standard in teen boys and teen girls. Bristol was FAR from being “easy,” yet because she was pregnant, people attacked her. Her ex was a pretty typical playboy who didn’t deny cheating, even admitted to it. Yet he’s cool, even when he failed to get a job until his son was 3. Bristol matured FAR faster and had a job long before.

Yep that's her alright. You can almost smell the scent of whack-a-doodle from here.

Well at least now people won't think we are exaggerating when we talk about the Crazy Palin stalker that roams the halls of IM.

"Waiting to Exhale" author tweets that she would like to "smack Sarah Palin." Man is there a long line of people who feel that way!

That tweet is from Terry McMillan, author of "Waiting to Exhale" as well as several other well received books.

As you know I do not condone violence against Sarah Palin on this blog, but having said that I certainly DO understand how people can get VERY angry at her constant attacks against he President and inflaming of racial tensions in this country.

To make that point perhaps I should share a few of the Right Wing responses to this tweet courtesy of of Breitbart's asylum for the criminally stupid:

I bet she would slap her, if she has about 5 of her homies with her. That's the way it's done in the hood. She should try to control her genetically impulsive behavior. The same advice I would have given a member of the Martin family.

Sit down and shut up blackie

Sarah Palin hunts, kills and carries moose. My money's on her.

I hope she smacks the taste out of this idiot's mouth.

Looks like someone left the primate cage open again

I look forward to seeing this on Pay-per-View. This idiot racist will be gutted, dressed, and her skin hung on the barn wall to dry. Without Palin messing up her nails.

American Blacks act like thugs then wonder why White people do not want them around. This female slug should be given a dirt nap like her hero Trayvon if she even reaches toward Palin!

Okay that's enough, my vomit bag is overflowing.

There are quite a number of responses which accuse this McMillan of being a racist, though I see nothing racist about wanting to slap somebody who infuriates you. And of course those accusations are undermined by the incredible racism demonstrated by these comments.

The other thing that I noted was how completely these idiots bought into the Palin mythology that she is a "frontier woman" who churns her own butter, hunts her own meat, and chops her own wood. In fact NOTHING could be further from the truth which anybody who watched her lame ass reality show could determine for themselves.

Once again I do not condone violence against the Tundra Turd, but if I were a black person watching how she has attacked and ginned up hatred toward the first black president, I am not sure I would feel much different. However I probably would keep those feelings to myself.

Mercede Johnston unfiltered.

Borrowed with permission from Sadie's Facebook page.
Okay so the other day I wrote this post where I retrieved some of Sadie's comments from an earlier post and put them up for everybody to see.

Well last night Sadie got the chance to see the responses to that post and has a little more to add. Including a smackdown for a certain troll.

Here is how she starts out:

I did not get to read all the comments on the last post and I am just beginning to read comments on this post. I will answer as many questions as I can.

Why hasn't Levi taken Bristol to court yet? There has been many times court has been mentioned/pursued and then Bristol changes her tune, plays nice, and allows Levi to see his son. While promising that they don't 'need' to go to court.

The other reason, like Anonymous10:49 AM said, MONEY. My brother is a young man trying to support his family and he doesn't have millions of dollars like the Palins do. If we did have unlimited resource's like they do, we would have had this settled four years ago.

I have read comments from this blog and other blogs/outlets coming from wonderful people who have offered to help Levi with his legal fees/fight for Tripp. However, when I proposed the idea of setting up an account for my Brother to receive help from all you generous people, and even offered to set it up for them, Sunny declined.

Sunny said "no..." and that she was "going to do it"..

It has been a very long time since that conversation and she has yet to do anything other than post pictures on his "facebook page".

I have done everything I can do to help and get my Nephew back to his other home, but there is only so much I can do...unfortunately. I wish my Brother would have allowed me to set that up for the benefit of him as a father, and most importantly, for the benefit of Tripp.

Tripp needs his father in his life and he needs us in his life as well.. but unfortunately his wife got in the way of that opportunity.

I still want to thank each and every one of you who has supported us and graciously offered to help my Brother, Tripp, and ultimately my whole family.

I don't understand why she doesn't want me to set an account up to help her husband, herself, her daughter, and Tripp...And if I ever get the chance/Sunny's permission to set an account up, I will in a heart beat.

Sadie's next response was directly to a troll. As you know I tend to ignore the trolls and encourage others to do likewise, but this is Sadie's idea so here you go.

I will post the trollish comment first.

Whatever. I want her to "weigh in" on rudfles, Truggybear, cutest baby brother ever. Sarah as mon in law. You know, all the things i believe the Johnstons have not "weighed in" on truthfully.

What was so dambing on their comouters that needed to go down the memory hole so quickly? Forgive typos- on small phone.

When others tried to explain things, this was the response:

Exactly. Her brother lied.

Must have been for good reason.

Is she going to go against Levis wishes?

She would lose half her family.

No. Way.

Sorry, sadie. So much more to say.

Finally Sadie had had enough.
