Sarah Palin is uploading videos from the Sarah Palin Channel to You Tube. Shall we?

Okay so as you know I am not commenting on things on the channel unless somebody else goes there and reports on it first, or it gets uploaded to YouTube.

As it turns out Palin is now doing that very thing. The bitch!

This is the video that Bob Cesca sampled last Saturday, and which is still rocketing around the internet resulting in stunned looks and belly laughs all over the world.

The whole thing is just as bad, if not worse.

Palin you know a few weeks ago the Massachusetts Senator, Elizabeth Warren, she gave a speech outlining the eleven rules to be a progressive. Well I'd love to answer her with a common sense conservative's take (Where is she going to find one of those?) on her eleven tenants. (Pretty sure that's supposed to be "tenets" not "tenants.")


Warren: We believe that Wall Street needs stronger rules and tougher enforcement, and we're willing to fight for it.

Palin: We believe that Washington DC needs to take less of our money, it need more scrutiny, fewer bureaucrats... and it needs a reminder of the principles laid down in the constitution that our leaders swear to defend. Furthermore we believe crony capitalism is infecting both sides of the aisle in DC, so we're working really hard to root it out of our party. Uh senator Warren, what are you doing to root it out of yours? (Is she really asking Elisabeth freaking warren what she is doing to fight corruption?)

Warren: We believe in science. and that means that we have a responsibility to protect this earth.

Palin: Uh hum, we believe in science, and God's magnificent creation overflowing with natural resources. That means, we have a responsibility to honor him by protecting the earth as we develop our resources in an environmentally sound way for mankind's use. (In other words she believes in sciences that does nothing to disprove her favorite deity, and wishes to preserve the planet so that people can continue to exploit its resources and pollute its air and water. Makes perfect sense, if you are Sarah Palin.)


Warren: We believe that the internet shouldn't be rigged to benefit big corporations, and that means real net neutrality.

Palin: We believe the internet shouldn't be censored by the world's tyrants, that means President Obama should reverse his disastrous decision to hand over control of internet domain names to the UN, where it will come under the thumb of authoritarian regimes like Russia  and China. (So in other words, the United states should tyrannically control the internet in order to keep it out of the hands of tyrants?)

Warren: We believe that no one should have to work full time and still live in poverty. That means raising the minimum wage.

Palin: We believe in lifting Americans out of poverty and into sustainable jobs. Now that means government needs to butt out, butt out of employee pay issues and quit over regulating businesses and increasing taxes it drives up operating costs, that's what effects wages. (Yeah, no not so much.)


Warren: We believe that fast food workers deserve a liveable wage. And that means when they take to the picket line we are proud to fight alongside them.

(And this is where Palin REALLY went off the rails!)

Palin:“We believe”? Wait, I thought fast food joints, hurh. Don’t you guys think that they’re like of the Devil or somethin’ . Liberals, you want to send those evil employees who would dare work at a fast food joint then ya just don’t believe in, thought you wanted to, I dunno, send them to Purgatory or somethin’ so they all go vegan and, uh, wages and picket lines I dunno they’re not often discussed in Purgatory, are they? I dunno why are you even worried about fast food wages because.... Well we believe an America, where minimum wage jobs, they're not like life time gigs, they're stepping stones to a good job with sustainable wages, hm, teaches work ethic, we believe in helping Americans climb the economic ladder, not get stuck on that first rung. A strong economy with good paying jobs it comes from free enterprise, not from a top down bloated big government command and control economy” (Wow! Talk about out of touch with the reality of making a living in this country. You know if her family were not living off of her name and had to get real jobs based on their work ethic, talent base, and educational background, Palin would know first hand how hard it is to make a living working in jobs that pay minimum wage.)


Warren: We believe that students are entitled to get an education without being crushed by debt.

Palin: We believe that students learn not to make decisions that result in a lot of debt (You know like attending college in the first place.) and we believe that schools need to be more accountable for the insane increase in tuition, hey and their insane curriculum, many of 'em. (Does she mean a curriculum that teaches something besides hair design and skin care?) It is no accident Elizabeth that the rise in tuition corresponds with a rise in government intervention! More government isn't the answer. (What?)

Warren: We believe that after a lifetime of work people are entitled to retire with dignity. And that means protecting Social Security, Medicare, and pensions.


Palin: We believe a pension is a promise. It must be honored. OK we do that by using common sense and prioritizing budgets that once and for all will end waste and fraud and the crony capitalism and the stupid political decisions that are bankrupting our nation! (You mean like starting unnecessary wars?) We believe that in order to keep faith with future generations and fulfill our current commitments to our seniors...well we must enact sensible entitlement reform. (Sadly the Republican party has never offered anything that looked like "sensible entitlement reform.")

Warren: We believe..only I can't believe I have to say this in 2014. We believe in equal pay for equal work.

Palin: We believe, I cant believe I have to say this in 2014. We believe in equal pay for equal work  and President Obama should abandon his hypocritical practice of paying women less than men, in his campaign, in his administration, and in the white house. Uhh, the leader of your party Elizabeth could set an example for the rest of the country. (Okay as much as it grieves me to admit this, Palin has a point here.)

Warren: We believe that equal means equal. And that's true in marriage, it's true in the workplace, and it's true in all of America.

Palin: We believe that all men and women are created equal.  They claim we are not tolerant, well, we believe that tolerance goes both ways. You know, uh, that means respecting people's rights to disagree with you. Instead of trying to intimidate or silence us. We believe the answer to free speech you find offensive, is more free speech not less. (Okay I am going to assume she is talking about the recent actions to limit proselytizing in the military. If you can think of another example let me know.)


Warren: We believe that immigration has made this country strong and vibrant and that means reform....

Palin: We believe that legal immigration the help make this country strong and vibrant and that means welcoming law abiding, hard working immigrants who wish to come here legally and pledge their allegiance to the United States of America! Furthermore we believe, as none other than Cesar Chavez believed, that if illegal immigration hurts the country it unfairly hurts working class Americans of all races, all backgrounds, who are seeking good paying  jobs, security for their families. (I'm assuming that she does not realize, nor care, that the wait time to become a US citizen can be up to 20 years. That is what Warren is talking about, and it is what President Obama has wanted to address since taking office, but he is dealing with a Congress that simply has no interest in solving problems, especially if they can blame those problems on the President.)

Warren: And we believe that corporations are not people, that women have a right to their bodies, we will overturn Hobby Lobby and we will fight for it. We will fight for it!

Palin:We believe women have a right to their bodies, just as babies have a right to their living breathing bodies nestled in a mother's womb. (That's a fetus, NOT a baby. That's why science is so important.) Hey, and anyone who wants contraception, more power to ya, can continue to freely buy any kind you want, no one is stopping you. We'll fight for the right of private businesses, including Hobby Lobby, to work with you... figure out health care coverage themselves. Any way, the owners of those businesses that they built themselves, anyway they want to. Knowing that, eh, come on government intervention it just always screws everything up. Furthermore  we believe that religious liberty is enshrined in our Constitution. Remember? The government has no right to cause people to violate their religious beliefs (Sure we do. That's why we do not allow honor killings, or still allow slavery, and why we prosecute parents who allow their children to die without seeking medical attention because they believe in faith healing.), and if try to take any of our constitutional rights away we will fight for them. One final thought for Senator Warren and her would be progressive populous, we conservatives believe, as Ronald Reagan said (Wow, I cannot believe it took this long for her to call upon the ghost of Ronald Reagan. She must be slipping.), that you can't be for big taxes, big government, big bureaucracy and still be for the little guy. Well, we stand with the little guy. The little guy today who is  being bullied and beaten down by the progressive left's failed policies of yours Elizabeth Warren. (Wait, who's beating them up? The people fighting for equality and a higher minimum wage?) We stand for free men and free markets. The twin ideals that made this nation strong, peaceful, and prosperous. We say, god bless America, uh, we hope you say the same, Senator Warren.

Oh yeah that is a LOT of crazy for only $9.95 a month.

Okay now I have another one of THOSE headaches.

Sarah Palin apologizes concerning her remarks about the pope, blames the media. Update!

Here is what she said yesterday on her ghostwritten Facebook page:

 Just to clarify my comment to Jake Tapper about Pope Francis, it was not my intention to be critical of Pope Francis. I was reminding viewers that we need to do our own homework on news subjects, and I hadn't done mine yet on the Pope's recent comments as reported by the media. Knowing full well how often the media mischaracterizes a person’s comments (especially a religious leader’s), I don’t trust them to get it right when it comes to reporting on the Vatican. I do, however, trust my many Catholic friends and family, including some excellent Catholic writers, who have since assured me that Pope Francis is as sincere and faithful a shepherd of his church as his two predecessors whom I admired. I apologize for not being clearer in my response, thus opening the door to critical media that does what it does best in ginning up controversy.

So let me get this straight. Is it the media's fault for reporting what Pope Francis said, Palin's fault for not reading what the media reported, or the media's fault again for reporting accurately what SHE said to Tapper?

Well strike that middle one, because it is NEVER Palin's fault.

So let's see what the media reported about the Pope's remarks.

In September this is what the  Pope said:

In remarkably blunt language, Francis sought to set a new tone for the church, saying it should be a “home for all” and not a “small chapel” focused on doctrine, orthodoxy and a limited agenda of moral teachings. “It is not necessary to talk about these issues all the time,” the pope told the Rev. Antonio Spadaro, a fellow Jesuit and editor in chief of La Civiltà Cattolica, the Italian Jesuit journal whose content is routinely approved by the Vatican. “The dogmatic and moral teachings of the church are not all equivalent. The church’s pastoral ministry cannot be obsessed with the transmission of a disjointed multitude of doctrines to be imposed insistently. 

“We have to find a new balance,” the pope continued, “otherwise even the moral edifice of the church is likely to fall like a house of cards, losing the freshness and fragrance of the Gospel.” 

Okay now the Catholic church did try to soften that language a little, and even reinterpreted it to some degree, but NOBODY claimed that the media lied or misrepresented his words to my knowledge.

Then in October, it was reported that the Pope said this:  

“The faith passes, so to speak, through a distiller and becomes ideology,” he said, according to Radio Vatican. “And ideology does not beckon [people]. In ideologies there is not Jesus: in his tenderness, his love, his meekness. And ideologies are rigid, always. Of every sign: rigid. 

“And when a Christian becomes a disciple of the ideology, he has lost the faith: he is no longer a disciple of Jesus, he is a disciple of this attitude of thought… For this reason Jesus said to them: ‘You have taken away the key of knowledge.’ The knowledge of Jesus is transformed into an ideological and also moralistic knowledge, because these close the door with many requirements.” 

“The faith becomes ideology and ideology frightens, ideology chases away the people, distances, distances the people and distances of the Church of the people,” Francis added. “But it is a serious illness, this of ideological Christians. It is an illness, but it is not new, eh?” 

And again nobody claimed the media got the words wrong.

You know until Sarah Palin of course.

And this was what Palin said to Tapper that she now seems to believe was taken out of context: 

"He's had some statements that to me sound kind of liberal, has taken me aback, has kind of surprised me," said Palin. But "unless I really dig deep into what his messaging is, and do my own homework, I’m not going to just trust what I hear in the media." (By the way the entire interview can be heard at the link, for the purposes of verification.)

You know, and I am sure this will shock all of you, it appears that when Palin suggests that the media has misrepresented something, what she actually means is that they reported it accurately.

Which means I assume that Jake Tapper, a man whose reporting she once singled out as accurate, now joins Katie Couric as a journalist who resorts to "gotcha questions."

How "lamestream" of him.

Update:  By the way it should be noted that the reason that authors (In this case rich people who pay ghostwriters to write their books.) go on book tours and give interviews, is to stimulate book sales, but in Palin's case her book has been dropping like a stone, seeming to accelerate with every interview that she gives. When all of this first started I believe she was in the mid fifties of Amazon book sales. As of this post she is 135.

George Zimmerman's wife says he has "beaten down her self esteem." ABC report provides new insight into his frame of mind the night he killed Trayvon Martin.

The Florida investigative journalist who is the first reporter to sit down with George Zimmerman’s wife, Shellie, said that during their “stunning” hourlong interview, the acquitted killer’s wife said that her husband has “beaten down her self-esteem,” but she is “looking forward to getting her life back.” 

Christi O’Connor spoke with ABCNews.com today about her experience locking down an interview with Shellie Zimmerman as the media focused its attention on her husband, who was acquitted of second-degree murder charges in the death of Trayvon Martin, an unarmed 17-year-old, in Sanford, Fla., in February 2012. 

“When I asked her why she was doing [the interview], Shellie said, ‘I want to start my life back.’ George Zimmerman has beaten down her self-esteem,” O’Connor told ABCNews.com, adding that 

Shellie is using this opportunity for a new start. “She has a moment in the spotlight. She wants everyone to know that she changed her life.” Shellie also told O’Connor that the aftermath of the shooting and months until the trial put a major strain on the couple’s relationship. 

“It put great stress on their marriage,” she said. “Constantly having to move. She got threats. A lot of threats. She doesn’t want to reveal from who…. They are constantly living under fear of being attacked.” 

O’Connor, who is working on a book about the George Zimmerman trial, also hinted that there was evidence that was mishandled, saying that during the sensational trial, “there were so many untruths told.” 

“What the jury never heard could have led to a different verdict,” she said.

I don't now about all of you but that last line sent a chill down my spine.

So Zimmerman and his wife had domestic problems, and she had removed herself from the home on the night that he killed the unarmed teenager. Isn't THAT interesting.

My friend Sarah Jones over at Politicususa certainly thinks so: 

The sure thing that will set an abuser off is when the victim leaves. Domestic violence stats reveal that this is the most dangerous time for a woman living with an abuser. It can be lethal. 

So Shellie leaves George and the next night, he’s out on the streets looking for someone else to control and abuse, as a substitute for his wife, whom he can’t control at that moment. Nothing irks an abuser more than having control taken away, even for a moment.

She's certainly NOT wrong there. 

Just about any police officer you could speak to would tell you that the worst thing to introduce into a domestic argument is a hand gun. Zimmerman had one, and no target on which to take out his frustrations.

That is until young Trayvon Martin happened  across his path that rainy night.

He wouldn't give Sarah Palin a dime, but John McCain has no problem donating to Mark "Hiking the Appalachian trail" Sanford's campaign.

The Sanford for Congress committee reported this afternoon it received $2,500 on 4/18 from Sen. John McCain’s leadership PAC, Country First PAC. Mark Sanford (R-S.C.) is running against Elizabeth Colbert Busch (D-S.C.) in the SC-01 May 7 Special General Election to fill the seat vacated by Rep. Tim Scott (R-S.C.), who was appointed a U.S. Senator. 

The McCain contribution was received one day after a spokesperson for the National Republican Congressional Committee confirmed that they would not be spending any money on behalf of Sanford. See Roll Call article. 

Well that's interesting. While the NRCC is pulling away because they find Sanford to be a candidate that they do not want to be associated with, John McCain has no problem handing over money to a man who used public funds to pay for his affair and then was caught lying about it.

And yet when McCain received 1.3 million in leftover funds from his 2008 campaign, he did not give a DIME of it to his running mate and perennial presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

I guess some liars are just a little less palatable to John McCain than others.

By the way somehow I don't think that McCain's $2,500.00 is going to do Sanford much good in this race.

The Elizabeth Colbert Busch for Congress committee reported it had received $48,700 in last-minute contributions on 4/18. 

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee reported it had made $218,404 in independent expenditures on 4/18 opposing Mark Sanford (R-S.C.). The DCCC paid $207,884 to Great American Media (DC) for media buys, and paid $10,520 to Adelstein/Liston LLC (IL) for media production.

And that is BEFORE her brother Stephen Colbert REALLY starts to campaign on her behalf.

And the hits just keep on coming. McCain leaves Palin out of leftover campaign money.

Over $1.3 million in left funds from the 2008 presidential campaign were given to Sen. John McCain in February and March and none to former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin. The McCain-Palin Compliance Funds Inc. reported today it transferred $1,374,536 to the Friends of John McCain, the Senate campaign committee for Sen. John McCain. The McCain-Palin Compliance Fund had previously transferred $8,647,905 to McCain’s Senate committee in 2010.

$8,647,905! Whew! Just imagine how much "postage" Palin could have bought with half of THAT!

Hmm perhaps the McCain/Palin relationship after the 2008 campaign is not as lovey-dovey as both camps have tried to convince us that it is?

Personally I think he hates her bony ass, and blames her for their loss in 2008.

Five year old Alabama hostage rescued unharmed, hostage taker not so lucky.

A week-long Alabama standoff in which a retired trucker held a 5-year-old boy hostage in an underground bunker has ended with the kidnapper dead and the child safe, according to law enforcement. 

"FBI Agents safely recovered the child who's been held hostage for nearly a week," FBI Special Agent Steve Richardson said at a news conference. 

The agent said negotiations with the suspect Richard Lee Dykes "deteriorated" in the past 24 hours. 

"Mr. Dykes was observed holding a gun. At this point the FBI agents fearing the child was in imminent danger, entered the bunker and rescued the child," Richardson said. 

The boy identified only as Ethan "appears physically unharmed" and is being treated at a hospital, authorities said. 

Dykes, 65, is dead, but officials have not yet provided details on how he died.

Is it wrong to hope that he died while suffering significant pain? This man also murdered the school bus driver who tried desperately to protect his passengers from this man, before he took little Ethan off of the bus and down into his bunker with him.

I am sure that all of you, like me, have been following this story and wondering what could make a man do something so horrendous to a small child. Would you believe conservative radio?

Michael Creel said Dykes kept to himself and listened to a lot of conservative talk radio. 

“He was very into what’s going on with the nation and the politics and all the laws being made. The things he didn’t agree with, he would ventilate,” he said. 

James Arrington, police chief of the neighboring town of Pinckard, put it differently. 

“He’s against the government, starting with Obama on down,” he said. 

Dykes also has been arrested for possession of marijuana and neighbors say he once killed a dog with a lead pipe. According to neighbors, he patrols his yard with a flashlight and a firearm, threatening to shoot children who step foot on his property. 

Ironically, given his hatred of government, Dykes lives in a FEMA trailer on his rural property. 

“I think he’s just a really angry and bitter guy with some anger management issues,” Morris Dees of Southern Poverty Law Center in Montgomery told the AP. “He is just against everything – the government and his neighbors.” 

Against everything. That pretty much sums up the anti-government, Obama hating, conservative mantra.

I am not sure how this man's anti-Obama, anti-government, hatred spilled over onto this little boy's life but the source for it seems relatively easy to ascertain.

Yet another example of the constant Right Wing hatred laced pollination directed to the mentally ill, undereducated low hanging fruit of this country.

Well at least that boy will be going home safely to his parents. It could have been so much worse.

Perhaps the best review of "The Rogue" so far. And a little additional information from me.

And never mind the insider accounts of the almost Biblical vengeance Sarah and Todd Palin visited upon enemies, real or perceived, during the march from Wasilla, Alaska, to where they reside today, at the astronomically high-paying intersection of Washington and Hollywood. 

The Sarah Palin portrayed in The Rogue is nothing short of a born-again hypocrite — and one so self-obsessed, yet so utterly unaware of herself, as to not even know it.

I quite literally JUST finished reading my copy, and will have a comprehensive review for you on Monday.

What I will say is that Joe McGinnis did NOT shy away from "babygate" as so many have claimed.

In fact he did a remarkable job of sticking his neck out to make sure that the widest possible audience would hear Palin's ridiculous story of the "pregnancy." As well as her version of the Wild Ride to her fake delivery at Mat-Su Regional hospital. Not to mention how few people living up here in Alaska believe her version of events.

Joe did a great service to ALL of us, as well as to Fred whose book will essentially take up where "The Rogue" leaves off.

In other words, to borrow a phrase that I first heard used somewhere else, GAME ON!

What exactly is the message Sarah Palin is sending America with her Newsweek photo shoot? And is it the one she THINKS she is sending?



Finally what this country needs! A Presidential candidate they can masturbate to!

Or perhaps this pose will make you want to pull your lever and vote for me. If you get my drift. 

Or how about a saucy, windblown look? I believe this is just how Ronald Reagan pushed his breasts out to save America.

Come and get some boys...uh  I mean get some conservative common sense principles to run this country. 

Or perhaps the small town mom/ public servant is more to your liking? I can fake that too!

See? I am just like any Alaskan gal. I even just finished peeing in the fireweed.

I cannot believe that this woman believes that posing like a sex kitten is going to truly improve her political standing.  Look I am a man, and believe me I know we can be idiots sometimes, but you would have to be a complete imbecile (who was just released from prison) for this to work on you.

Personally  I am insulted. And if I were a woman, I would be doubly insulted.

The women's rights movement in this country worked for decades to FINALLY be taken seriously, and to receive equal treatment at their jobs along with their male co-workers. And this Playboy Playmate wannabe is destroying that hard work every time she portrays the female politician as a publicity seeking, dimwitted, bimbo.

The National Examiner tackles Babygate. Finally!

The reporters from the National Examiner are only the latest to finally get fed up enough with this obvious fraud to finally decide to put it out there in print so that Americans can see for themselves how stupid Sarah Palin considers all of them to be. 

Interestingly enough NE is somewhat late in boarding this particular bandwagon, on which Andrew Sullivan is the senior member, though he is now somewhat less lonely having recently been joined by the likes of Laura Novak, Sarah Jones of Politicususa, Henry Blodget of the Business Insider, and even author Joe McGinniss.

And let's not forget the soon to be completed book dedicated to babygate which I have learned is right on schedule, and which, after some tidying up of loose ends and a careful vetting by the lawyers, will soon be delivered to the publishers.

Personally I am just glad that the bloggers are not the only ones doing the heavy lifting these days. After all of these years of ridicule and ostracizing from the so-called "mainstream media," it certainly feels good to blog about the research and discoveries being made on this topic by ACTUAL journalists.

Because I don't know about all of you, but I could use a nap!

What makes you think that Michele Bachmann is trying to steal Sarah Palin's mojo? I mean besides everything?

The idea that Michele Bachmann is ACTIVELY trying to supplant the Grizzled Mama in Teabagger hearts is simply ridiculous.  Bachmann even said so herself a  few days ago.

"They want to see two girls come together and have a mud wrestling fight, and I am not going to give that to them," Bachmann told a voter Wednesday who asked about her relationship with the former Alaska governor.

See media? No mud wrestling! (Even though from a purely male perspective that would be pretty AWESOME! Sorry, had a little testosterone surge there.)

So get over it media.  Just because they sound alike, screw up historical facts alike, and dress alike,

sometimes exactly alike, it does NOT mean that Michele is trying to rip Sarah Palin off.

So just relax and enjoy watching Bachmann launch her Presidential campaign with her bus tour, and....

what?

Oh come on!  ALL candidates have a bus that they ride around on to meet the voters.  Why must we compare Bachmann's bus to....

Wow, they are similar aren't they? Are those even different buses, or did she actually steal Palin's bus and repaint it?

Well forget about the buses, because beyond that they have very little in common. And I am sure that most political observers would agree with me on that.

I'm sorry Sarah Jones, of Politicususa, what is that you are saying?

Both Bachmann and Palin are GOP puppets; religious extremists dressed up, puffed up and pushed out, sold to the highest bidder to put a pretty face on ugly ideas. Both women seem nice enough from afar, both are ostensibly good mothers from afar, both are absolutely hypocritical on almost every issue they purport to stand for and too ignorant to know it. Both are wildly over-confident, in the way that can only come from a small mind that cannot conceive of larger issues beyond the self-aggrandizing, unregulated id that drives them.

Both women bring out the worst in our culture. Both appeal to the lurking sexism, hooking it with a wink and bringing all women down into the mud with them if we dare call them out on it. It’s as if we are back in Junior High, only I never knew anyone so shameless and tawdry as either of these two women in Junior High. It offends me to even address their vulgar cries for attention via their sexuality.

Oookay, well perhaps I misspoke. 

Fine, I guess Bristol IS right for once and Bachmann is copying her mother (And doing it better by the way), but SURELY Sarah Palin is a big enough person to let it slide and simply enjoy what she has going for her. 

You know like Bristol's very successful book tour.  Oh that's right.

Well how about her new film?  It's not like her supporters have to fake attendance numbers in order to make it seem more pop...oooh that's going to leave a mark.

Okay well Sarah Palin has "tough skin" so I imagine like any Mama Grizzly whose life is in the shitter she is taking all of this in stride, right?

The story raises the possibility of a get-together with Margaret Thatcher, which would be noteworthy on a few levels - including her recent reported refusal to take a meeting with Sarah Palin. (Thatcher's office reportedly denied two British papers' stories that there was an intended snub by the elderly former politician) .

Sarah Jones: Can you define “Quiverfull movement” and what you’ve identified as the patriarchal beliefs behind it?

Vyckie Garrison: I like to define Quiverfull as a very powerful head trip. It’s an all-encompassing vision of a big, happy family which infects the mind and affects every aspect of a Believer’s life. The term “Quiverfull” comes from a reference in Psalm 127 which likens children to “arrows” in the hands of a mighty man, “blessed is the man who has his quiver full of them.”

Quiverfull Believers eschew all forms of birth control in favor of “trusting the Lord” with their family planning. The Quiverfull ideal embraces a “biblical” model (read, fundamentalist) of the traditional family which insists that the husband is the head of the household and the wife is the submissive “helpmeet.”

Sarah Jones: How do those beliefs manifest for wives and female children? Can you give us some examples of expectations of wives and daughters that might surprise our readers?

Vyckie Garrison: In practice, the Quiverfull ideals often result in larger-than-average families (think, Jim Bob & Michelle Duggar of TLCs “19 & Counting” fame) in which the woman stays at home having babies, homeschooling, homesteading, dressing “modestly,” and most importantly, serving and submitting to her “lord,” i.e., her patriarchal husband.

The Quiverfull lifestyle is extremely demanding and the only way a woman can hope to succeed is to rely heavily on her older daughters. It is expected that a Quiverfull daughter will be fully capable of running the household, including all meal-preparation, laundry duties, child care and homeschooling of younger siblings by the age of twelve. Many girls are doing all this by the time they’re eight or ten because their mothers are so consumed with birthing more and more “arrows” to fill the quivers of their husbands.

A Quiverfull daughter is taught from a young age that her purpose in life is to serve the man whom God has placed in authority over her. She serves her father while she lives at home (she does this primarily by assisting her mother in domestic duties and child care). She absolutely must remain a virgin and is taught to expect to meet and marry her future husband through a father-led match-making process called “courtship.” Her education is geared toward developing domestic skills ~ college is generally considered unnecessary and even dangerous for her spiritual well-being.

Sarah Jones: Do Sarah Palin and Michele Bachmann (both of whom share a belief in the bible replacing the constitution; i.e., a theocratic takeover of the American government) represent the beliefs you were taught and if so, how? If not, why?

Vyckie Garrison: When I was a fully-convinced Quiverfull believer, I did question how Sarah Palin could justify her political activities so long as she had children still living at home. I also thought it ironic that, according to the ideals she espouses, women should not hold authority over men, or even be allowed to vote for that matter.

Still, I supported Palin because she understands and promotes conservative Christian “family values.” I was especially impressed by her convictions with regard to “taking back America for God” — in my Quiverfull-colored opinion, Sarah Palin “got it.” Meaning, of course, that she has a decent understanding of Dominionist principles and she has a plan to lead America toward a “truly Biblical” (read, theocratic) society.

This philosophy of breeding for God is as old as religion itself. Older even.

It dates back to a time when the only hope that a community had of survival was to have more warriors, and more people working to support those warriors, than their enemies had at their disposal.

One of the main fears that Christians, even today, have is that the Muslims are out breeding them, and that ultimately they will lose their religious dominance and power structure. By the way that is the same fear that the White Power people have concerning Hispanics, Asians, and African Americans. And yes, the two ARE tied together.

I am still constantly amazed how Sarah Palin is able to gain the support from these hyper Fundamentalists when her entire lifestyle is an affront to the tenets of their belief system. It seems that essentially these people are bred to accept the lies told to them by their leaders, and therefore give her a free pass.

Republicans hire Obama impersonator to belittle the President, only to escort him off stage when he turns on them.

Video surfaced today of the Republicans kicking Reggie Brown, their Obama impersonator, off the stage at the Republican Leadership Conference after he made fun of their candidates. I confess that I’ve been struggling to understand what passes for Republican humor ever since we found out that they think Colbert is a conservative and tried to claim “Obama Waffles” “Barack the Magic Negro” and “Watermelon White House” were “satire”.

I’m still befuddled after watching this video, because they were gettin’ a good laugh on as Reggie mocked Obama’s race and birthplace but they got all button down upset when Reggie went for the Obamneycare.

See, it’s rip roarin’ funny when the impersonator goes after Obama, talks about race endlessly, and equates Obama with the Kardashians. I’d grade this sort of low level base humor on par with what I expected from my nephew when he was in Junior High, but I’ll note that even my small town nephew with a big heart got the cruelty of such jokes by the time he reached the ripe age of 13. Happiest laughter at Anthony Weiner jokes — this coming from a party chock full of elected officials who have committed actual sex crimes and remain in office, self-awareness clearly not in evidence in New Orleans this night.

When do they get offended? When the humor is directed at their candidates, of course.

At has been pointed out repeatedly that the Republicans just don't get humor.  So they hire a rather juvenile comedian because he sounds like Obama and often mocks him in his act, but have no idea that this guy makes jokes that also target their own candidates. 

When they realize that his jokes have more than just a grain of truth in them about the GOP field they quickly have him escorted offstage by an old white guy.

Of course having Obama pushed off stage by an old white guy is EXACTLY the kind of wet dream that most of the GOP have every night anyway.

Just another example of how Sarah Palin's ridiculous birth story hurts working mothers. Even those working for Fox News.

Currently Megyn Kelly, another of Fox's blond bimbo-ish talk show hosts, is on maternity leave.

You would imagine that those who espouse the "conservative family values" point of view would find that admirable.  But apparently you would be wrong.

Here is Fox News contributor Mike Gallagher and Fox News Sunday anchor Chris Wallace acting like neanderthals on the subject.



Yeah, how proud am I of MY gender right about now?

Thankfully I am a REAL pro-family progressive, and not one of these knuckle draggers who only give lip service to the idea of sacrificing for their families.

However leave it up to the brilliant Sarah Jones, of Politicususa, to quickly recognize just who it is that reinforces this type of antiquated thinking from conservative males:

A side note while I point out just one more reason women have problems with women like “conservative” Sarah Palin; Palin told the media that she gave a speech after going into labor (or breaking water) and then flew home ten hours before driving another two to her preferred hospital. Three days later, she arrived at work with her new baby and men all over the country said, “Atta gal!”

They praise her now as the “ideal wife”, as if she had no help with her child, as if taking a 3 day old infant with health problems to work is a viable idea, as if motherhood weren’t really, actually, very time consuming and physically draining. All of this leaves women like Megyn Kelly even more vulnerable to criticism for taking some time off before and after giving birth. This is “Mama Grizzly” feminism: Selling the unrealistic notion that women can and should do it all at the same time, no less, and look great while they’re doing it.

So you see it is not JUST that the pregnancy hoax gave Sarah Palin pro-life credibility that she did not deserve, and put her on the short list of possible John McCain VP candidates, it ALSO reinforces a negative stereotype that working women use their children as an excuse to get out of work whereas men do not.

(And we all know that if MEN had to give birth, they would demand SIX months off from work, as well as a trophy for their accomplishment, and probably a holiday named after them just to top it off.)

In truth Sarah Palin has done more to set back the Women's Movement in this country, than Hooters, Baywatch, and Hustler magazine combined.

And I would also like to point out that is REAL women like Sarah Jones and Laura Novak, female journalists who are willing to address the Palin faked pregnancy head on, that should make feminists and working women proud of their gender.  NOT the phony, hypocrisy ridden, Sarah Palin.

Sarah Jones of Politicususa finds that government officials in Alaska may STILL be covering for their Worst Governor Ever.

Yesterday I wrote a story about what I saw as the real issue with Sarah Palin’s availing herself personally of at least a hundred thousand dollars in film tax incentives for her reality TV show (the show got 1.2 million in taxpayer funds), a subject which had made the rounds of conservative media and so irked Palin that she took to her Facebook Page to correct it on March 30, 2011.

Naturally, in order to write the article I wanted to view the exact legislation that was passed by Palin. But when I went to the Alaska Film Office tax incentive and credit page, via a Google search, it took me to a dead 404 page. I tried multiple searches and multiple links to find the files to no avail. In order to find the date the legislation was passed, for example, I ended up having to search news articles from that time period. Luckily, I had the two PDFs from their film office from which to work, as I had previously written about this topic.

At any rate, my article focused on the specific types of projects that were ineligible for a tax credit, as Sarah Palin’s Alaska was noted to be political in nature and was certainly received that way by many, with Ms Palin herself noting in a TV interview that she got in her political statements. Political ads were specifically prohibited from receiving benefit of tax credits, as would make sense when using taxpayer funds. Furthermore, Ms Palin appeared to deny that this legislation benefited her personally, insinuating that if it benefited anyone it was the producer. However, I have been in the TV business for a long time and have worked with state tax film credits and incentives, I am aware that her statement was perhaps disingenuous, given the money paid to her as talent and the probability that a production company would be more inclined to work with her and pay her a higher amount knowing that they would ultimately get 44% (or 1.2 million dollars) back in tax credits.

Sarah Jones so got under the skin of those who are trying to protect Palin from scrutiny and potential bad press that Dave Worrell from the Alaska Film Office e-mailed her to tell her that she was wrong in her assertions.

As it turned out she was not.

Well outside the top 25, Sarah Palin’s Alaska averaged 2.49 million viewers, down from the previous week’s 2.56 million.

I would love to see a breakdown of the demographics of viewers for this program.

My instincts tell me that a large number of them are probably people who simply cannot stand Sarah Palin and are watching her reality show/political advertisement in order to prove to themselves that she is a fraud and a ridiculous person. 

Then there are the middle aged conservative males who are watching it with their hand in their pants, the teabaggers who believe she is  the second coming of Jesus, a handful of nature buffs who are waiting for Sister Sarah to get the hell out of the way so they can see the beautiful scenery, and of course the fans of snuff films who are waiting to see what the Grizzled Mama will kill THIS week.

Next week is the two hour finale.  Typically finale's get a larger audience share than other episodes, but at 120 minutes I am not sure how many viewers will be able to make it to the end.

However one thing is clear, despite what her ego initially told her Palin did NOT manage to attract more viewers by allowing America to see more of her as she undoubtedly believed would be the case. As many predicted, the MORE people saw of her, the less they found her interesting or engaging enough to waste an hour of their Sunday watching on their televisions.

I mean let's face facts, only about half as many people thought her program was as interesting to watch as the Pawn Stars.



THAT is what is kicking Sarah Palin's show's ass. And they say America does not have good taste.

Now if Sarah Palin opened a pawn shop in Wasilla, she might actually have a shot.

Busted! Sarah Palin is caught using dreaded teleprompter in her home studio!

So anyway, last week while watching “Sarah Palin’s Alaska”, I could have sworn I saw a teleprompter on her home studio camera, but I didn’t care enough to do a screen grab. After all, there are so many lies to deconstruct and so little time. But then last night, as I was watching the latest episode (which I must confess is now a fun distraction from her tweets), she was showing us her studio in the house she built next door to her home on Lake Lucille. Sarah and Todd were making a show of how it was just the two of them putting on her little show. And while she made cute and Todd told her her hair was above his pay grade, I saw the evil socialist machine staring me down, clear as day. So clear that I could read the logo. Yes, a teleprompter.

Who makes Ms Palin’s teleprompter? Autoscript. The number one selling teleprompter. The gold standard in teleprompters. The elite, if you will, of teleprompters. The farthest cry from the “poor man’s teleprompter” as you can get.

Oh am I loving this!
