MSNBC's Joy Reid apologizes for insensitive blog posts from the past, while also not taking full responsibility.

Calling her comments “despicable and wrong,” Reid copped to writing some of the offense comments, but said she truly believed she did not write them all. 

“A community I support and deeply care about is hurting because of despicable and truly offensive posts being attributed to me,” the somber Reid began. “Many of you have seen the blog posts circulating online and social media. Many of them are homophobic and discriminatory and hateful. When a friend found them and sent them to me, I was stunned. Frankly I couldn’t imagine where they came from and whose voice that was.” 

“I spent a lot of time trying to make sense of the posts,” she continued. “I hired cyber security experts to see if somebody manipulated my words or former blog and the reality is they have not been able to prove it. But here’s what I do know: I generally do not believe I wrote those hateful things because they are completely alien to me, but I can definitely understand, based on things I have tweeted and I have written in the past, why some people don’t believe me. I’ve not been exempt from being dumb or cruel or hurtful to the very people I want to advocate for. I own that. I get it. And for that I am truly, truly story.”

I held off writing about this situation because to be honest I was not sure what to make of it.

The posts showing up on the internet, and being attributed to Reid, did not really fit my perception of her at all.

I am still not completely convinced that it was her.

Besides that I also went through something similar myself, after this blog gained a little infamy.

After the Splitsville story the Right Wing trolls went through my old posts forensically and found some that, taken out of context, did not paint a very flattering picture.

In my case most of the content was misrepresented, but there were a few things that I wrote, back when virtually NOBODY visited IM, that were truly impossible to completely defend.

They were the type of musings that one might jot down in a diary with the expectation that nobody would ever see them, but that is certainly not a mindset which translates well to the internet, where everything lives forever.

So that should serve as a lesson to us all, that we need to consider that the things we write on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and even the comment section of a blog, might one day be dredged up and used against us when we least expect it.

I think that Joy Reid is very admirable person, but there is a journey to arrive at the best version of ourselves, and sometimes those missteps along they way can trip us up even after we think we have already arrived. 

Steve Bannon's sad little semi-apology did not impress the Donald.

Steve Bannon, like his onetime brother-in-arms President Donald Trump, is known as someone whose instinct is to double down, not kiss up. 

That made his belated attempt on Sunday to de-escalate mounting tension with the commander-in-chief — who has been publicly and privately raging about his former chief strategist all week — notable to many of his allies, one of whom called it a “huge step for Steve, one of the most stubborn people on Earth.” 

But inside the White House, Bannon's 297-word statement of contrition about comments he made in Michael Wolff's "Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House" was seen as too little, too late for an operative unaware of the self-inflicted damage his hubris could cause. 

It did nothing to quell Trump’s rage at his former chief strategist or the anger of Bannon’s former West Wing colleagues, according to multiple administration officials, who said the vibe in the president’s circle was that people were unmoved by the statement. Asked whether there is anything Bannon can do at this point to get back in the president's good graces, one White House official said curtly, "Unlikely." 

That posture has left Bannon supporters wondering whether the three-shirt-wearing bomb-thrower can switch the layers out for a hair shirt long enough to stop Trump from siding permanently with House Speaker Paul Ryan and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell — or whether Bannon’s populist wing of the Republican Party has already run out of time to maintain influence in this year’s midterm elections.

I think the only thing more satisfying than watching Steve Bannon publicly suck up to Trump in order to get back into his good graces, is to watch that attempt fail miserably and then for him to disappear into the icy depths of  public indifference.

Keep in mind that just a week ago Bannon was riding high as a political operative who could topple the likes of Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan, and now he is persona non grata.

I think the last person to suffer such a stunning fall from grace was the angel Lucifer.

Of course we know that Trump will never apologize for anything.

That would require the kind of honesty and self reflection that megalomaniacs are simply unequipped to handle.

I'm sorry, there is an insane person in the White House, that your social media platform helped get elected, spending his days golfing while people are dying in Puerto Rico and being massacred in Las Vegas, there is no forgiving that. 

Facebook needs to completely revamp how it sells advertising, and it needs to reject any attempts by foreign entities to manipulate citizens of sovereign nations.

Or it could just shut down, which would be okay with me as well.

Alaska Congressman Don Young forced to apologize after saying something sexist and mean to a female colleague.

Rep. Don Young (R-Alaska) was forced to apologize on Thursday after he lashed out at Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.) in unusually personal terms during House floor debate late in the evening. 

During consideration of a government spending package for 2018, Young was offering an amendment regarding wildlife management on national preserves in his state of Alaska. 

After Jayapal, a liberal freshman representing Seattle, spoke in opposition to his amendment, Young snapped that she "doesn't know a damn thing what she's talking about." 

He then questioned Jayapal's motives by accusing her of parroting talking points from a special interest group, rather than expressing her true opinion. 

"What you said was really nonsense. It was written by an interest group, not yourself. Maybe your staff is affiliated with the Humane Society or some other group. And I'm disappointed," Young said. 

Young, 84, proceeded to address his 51-year-old colleague as a "young lady." 

"You may not know me, young lady. But I'm deeply disturbed," Young said.

As it turned out Young picked on the wrong "young lady" and Jaypal demanded that he withdraw his remarks, which after some consideration he did.

And that is quite a victory for Rep. Jaypal, because Don Young NEVER apologizes or takes back an insult, no matter how ignorant.

I guess Jaypal should consider herself lucky that at least Young did not twist her arm.

I keep hoping that at 84 Don Young will finally do Alaska a favor and retire, but I think he actually plans to die in office.

Boy Scouts apologize for inappropriate speech by Donald Trump.

An official with the Boy Scouts of America apologized to the scouting community on Thursday for the political content of President Donald Trump's speech at the National Scout Jamboree. "I want to extend my sincere apologies to those in our Scouting family who were offended by the political rhetoric that was inserted into the jamboree," said Chief Scout Executive Michael Surbaugh. "That was never our intent." 

Speaking Monday before about 40,0000 scouts, Trump delivered a speech that would not have been out of place on his campaign or in his tweets.

He slammed the "fake news" media, promoted the repeal of the Affordable Care Act, boasted about his electoral night victory and called out the Washington "cesspool." 

"Who the Hell wants to speak about politics when I'm in front of the Boy Scouts," he said, continuing to speak about politics.

In his letter, Surbaugh said Trump's speech had "overshadowed" the rest of the jamboree and its focus on scouting. 

"These character-building experiences have not diminished in recent days at the jamboree -- Scouts have continued to trade patches, climb rock walls, and share stories about the day's adventures," he said. "But for our Scouting family at home not able to see these real moments of Scouting, we know the past few days have been overshadowed by the remarks offered by the President of the United States."

I have pretty much given up on the Boy Scouts since it started focusing more on evangelizing to a captive audience and less on identifying animal footprints and learning how to tie cool knots.

When I was a Scout in the early seventies my big complaint was that it was too militaristic for this budding peacenik,  but now we have to worry about kids being indoctrinated into a weird religious cult of being exposed to serial sexual deviant.

I think these t-shirts will soon start selling like hotcakes.

As an American I don't think I would leave the country without one.

Melania Trump victorious in lawsuit against the Daily Mail, receives damages and an apology.

The UK's Daily Mail newspaper has agreed to pay damages and costs to the first lady of the United States over an article about her modelling career. 

The newspaper had reported allegations that Melania Trump once worked as an escort, but later retracted the claims. 

The story was published during the US election campaign last year. 

Mrs Trump accepted damages and an apology from the newspaper at London's High Court. 

The article was published by the Daily Mail newspaper, and subsequently the paper's digital operation Mail Online. 

In a statement, Mrs Trump's lawyer said that she is "very pleased" and "will remain vigilant to protect her good name and reputation from those who make false and defamatory statements about her".

Personally I think that there are still some very troubling things about Melania's past, such as the fact that she worked on modeling gigs here in the US illegally, and that she also may have been married previously in order to get a green card.

We also know that she did nude modeling, which is really no big deal, except for the fact that she is now the First Lady of the United States of America.

As for being paid to have sex....well what do you call her relationship with Donald Trump?

Conservative radio host Alex Jones apologized Friday for promoting an anti-government conspiracy theory that allegedly inspired one man to open fire in a Washington restaurant last year. 

Broadcasting from his website InfoWars, Jones said he was not the author of the so-called "Pizzagate" conspiracy theory, but regretted prior comments made in support of it. He specifically appealed to James Alefantis, owner of Comet Ping Pong. The Washington pizza place was one of several that the theory's supporters believed hosted a child-sex trafficking ring sponsored by Democratic Party officials. In December, 28-year-old Edgar Maddison Welch entered the restaurant and opened fire with an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle without any reported injuries. After his arrest, Welch claimed he was motivated to take action based on his belief of the theory and that he was an avid listener of Jones' radio show. 

"I want our viewers and listeners to know that we regret any negative impact our commentaries may have had on Mr. Alefantis, Comet Ping Pong, or its employees. We apologize to the extent our commentaries could be construed as negative statements about Mr. Alefantis or Comet Ping Pong, and we hope that anyone else involved in commenting on Pizzagate will do the same thing," Jones said in a prepared statement. 

A lot of this apology is made up of bullshit excuses, however it IS the first time that I can remember Jones taking ANY responsibility for the damage done by his careless spreading of unfounded conspiracy theories, so that is at least something.

Now I am just waiting for him to apologize to the parents of the children killed at Sandy Hook who he accused of participating in a "false flag" operation designed to help President Obama take away people's guns.

Yeah, I won't be holding my breath for that one.

US forced to apologize after White House Spokesperson accuses Britain of spying on Donald Trump for President Obama. Update!

The US has made a formal apology to Britain after the White House accused GCHQ of helping Barack Obama spy on Donald Trump in the White House. 

Sean Spicer, Mr Trump's press secretary, repeated a claim on Thursday evening – initially made by an analyst on Fox News - that GCHQ was used by Mr Obama to spy on Trump Tower in the lead-up to last November's election. 

The comments prompted a furious response from GCHQ, which in a break from normal practice issued a public statement: "Recent allegations made by media commentator Judge Andrew Napolitano about GCHQ being asked to conduct 'wiretapping' against the then president-elect are nonsense. They are utterly ridiculous and should be ignored."

Intelligence sources told The Telegraph that both Mr Spicer and General McMaster, the US National Security Adviser, have apologised over the claims. "The apology came direct from them," a source said. 

I swear every day I wake up thinking we cannot possibly go any further down the rabbit hole than we did the day before, and every day I am wrong.

You would think I would stop allowing myself to be shocked, but I guess I keep assuming that there must be a limit to the incompetency of this White House.

There must be, right?

Update: Nope there is no limit, here is Sean Spicer saying he has no regrets for accusing Britain of spying on his boss:  

White House press secretary Sean Spicer flatly denied Friday that the White House apologized to the British government after citing an uncorroborated Fox News report to allege that a UK intelligence agency spied on President Donald Trump at the behest of former President Barack Obama.

"I don't think we regret anything," Spicer told reporters at a gaggle Friday afternoon. Asked by CNN's Jim Acosta if there was an apology by the administration to the British government over the matter, Spicer replied, "No, we were just passing on news reports."

Unbelievable. 

Sarah Palin apologizes to Julian Assange for not realizing that someday he would be on her side.

As I said at the time of being targeted and my subsequent condemnation, though, the line must be drawn before our troops or innocent lives deserving protection would be put at risk as a result of published emails.

Okay the first thing that should be mentioned here is that Sarah Palin NEVER apologizes.

She never apologized to her followers for leading them on about the possibility she might become a candidate for the White House.

She never apologized to Alaskans for making them all look like imbeciles in the eyes of the world.

She never apologized to her children for being the worst mom ever.

So for her to apologize to Julian Assange is a pretty big deal.

But why in the hell would she apologize to Julian Assange?

Well because right now Wikileaks is functioning as Donald Trump's very own intelligence agency.

He, and his sycophantic followers like Palin, are throwing shade on the traditional intelligence agencies that we have relied upon for years, and going all in with their support of Julian Assange and his wacky band of anarchists.

So now all past indiscretions are forgiven because Donald Trump desperately needs Wikileaks to help him push back on the findings of the intelligence community which will surely find that the Russians hacked and released information through Wikileaks to hurt Hillary's chances to win the presidency, and helped to ensure his victory.

Fox News retracts fake news story about food stamp fraud.

Fox News has retracted a Tuesday story that claimed "an all-time high" for food stamp fraud. 

“We reported that back in 2016 $70 [billion] were wasted on food stamp fraud,” Fox News contributor Abby Huntsman said on Friday's "Fox and Friends." 

“That was actually incorrect. The latest information from 2009 to 2011 shows the fraud at 1.3 percent, which is approximately $853 million for each of those three years. Nationally food stamp trafficking is on the decline. So sorry about that mistake.”

Okay well I guess it is somewhat of a good sign that Fox is finally starting to take responsibility for some of the bullshit that they put out.

However if you notice they picked one of the most attractive and pleasant people in their news stable to give the apology.

"Let's go ahead and admit we were wrong, but let's distract them with something pretty while we do it."

Personally I would rather see Bill O'Reilly making the apology so that I can despise him and the network for lying in the first place and then mock them for having to apologize.

Pope Francis says that the church needs to apologize to gays, women, and children. Yes it does!

The Catholic church and other Christian communities must apologize to gay people and to many groups they have let down or offended throughout history, Pope Francis has said. 

In a press conference Sunday on the flight back to Rome after his weekend trip to Armenia, the pontiff said bluntly: "The church must say it's sorry for not having comported itself well many times, many times." 

"I believe that the church not only must say it's sorry ... to this person that is gay that it has offended," said the pope. "But it must say it's sorry to the poor, also, to mistreated women, to children forced to work." 

"When I say the church: Christians," Francis clarified. "The church is healthy. We are the sinners."

As I have pointed out before I am very reticent to trust this Pope on the things that he says, but damn I have to say that this is a very powerful statement, And one that I would really like to see at least Catholics around the world take to heart.

There is indeed quite a lot for the Catholic church to apologize for, as it has caused great harm in many places around the world.

Perhaps, just perhaps, this is the first step towards taking real responsibility for some of the most horrific policies of the church and a step toward having more inclusive policies moving forward.

Sarah Palin threatens to sue female rapper who suggested that the "biggest burliest blackest Negroes" should "run a train" on her.

Palin told PEOPLE exclusively in a statement that she will take legal action against Banks "on behalf of all reasonable women of every age, race and political leaning." 

"I've had enough of the unanswered threats and attacks against my family and me," Palin said of Banks' NSFW social media suggestion that the former governor should be sexually assaulted. "So, for the first time I'm going to enjoy the only retribution some protected 'celebrities' seem to understand – I'm suing Azealia Banks and can't wait to share my winnings with others who have gone defenseless against lies and dangerous attacks far too long." 

First off we all know that Sarah Palin is never going to sue ANYBODY. And if she tried in this case, as disgusting as those comments were, I think she would find herself fighting against the first amendment.

For her part this Azealia Banks person DID issue a sort of barely coherent, meandering apology.

However as it turned out she could not let it go at that and later added a PS that really did not seem all that apologetic:

-I am an EXTREMELY intelligent woman, Mrs. Palin. -“Hey Female Rapper,” was your way to euphemize what you REALLY wanted to say. What you wanted to say was, “Hey little Stereotypical Black, Thing!”
 -Realize that stereotypes are a product of what I like to call the “Critical White Gaze.” The basic fundamentals of the Critical White Gaze are Fear, Ignorance, Curiosity, and Fetishization. 
-Intelligence is not something which can be quantified in 140 Characters. 
 -Twitter is not real, neither is your opinion of me!

Damn!

Look I hate to take Palin's side here, but this rapper went way over the line in my opinion, and the Grizzled Mama has every right to be a little pissy in response.

Not only that but her initial comments were in response to an article written as parody that in reality had nothing really to do with Sarah Palin.

Of course to be fair some of Sarah Palin's past statements have made it almost impossible to tell which terribly racist comment she made in real life, and which terribly racist comment are parodies of things she has said in real life.

If yesterday's attempt to take credit for inspiring Hillary's "Scooby Van" did not convince you of the depths of Palin's pettiness, this should do it.

Surprised a recent dust up with Hollywood became an actual news story today – People magazine pretty much summed it all up (http://www.people.com/article/sarah-palin-is-a-Louis-CK-fan-after-his-apology-for-mean-tweets). A takeaway, though, is that wearing ammo in my ears was purposefully not a subliminal message; it was blatant in contrast to liberal MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry's choice of earrings. 

Okay this took me a second because I did not know the context of MHP's tampon earrings, however as it turns out she wore them on her show as a protest against Texas signing that abortion bill in 2013.

Of course Palin wore her bullet earrings during SNL's 40th Anniversary in a desperate attempt to attract attention.

The rest of Palin's ghost written post has to do with an apology that Louis CK admitted to Howard Stern that he delivered to Palin during that SNL appearance.

Palin of course was so excited that somebody was actually talking about her that she immediately rang up People magazine to give her side:  

"Maybe it surprises people, but I was sincerely humbled and appreciative," Palin tells PEOPLE of her encounter with the comedian at the Saturday Night Live 40th anniversary special's after-party in February. 

Yes it does surprise people, and they don't believe you.  

Louis C.K. told Stern that he's "never in a million years" apologized for any of his jokes before, but added that that night, "something came over me emotionally and I said, 'Well, I owe you an apology.' " 

That's where Palin picks up the story: "I had to ask C.K. what it was he was apologizing for. ...C.K. explained he'd said some things about me and was sorry, and went on with such a nice, humble apology. I laughed and said he didn't need to apologize, for I hadn't even heard it. Then I teased him that, 'If you really did say nasty things about me, well, then you're the only person to have ever said mean things about me, so for shame!' "

By a show of hands who here does not believe that Palin has a little book where she jots down the name of every single person who ever said anything even remotely critical of her. 

Yeah me too.

"I wish I could have spoken with him longer. And again, I sincerely appreciated his unexpected and character-revealing apology," she says. "I think he's the only one in Hollywood who's ever done that." 

And he's the last one who ever should. 

I have said it before, and I will say it again, nobody, and I mean NOBODY, should ever apologize to Sarah Palin. It just sets a bad precedent.

Now I realize that some of the things that Louis CK said were pretty horrible, but trust me she deserved every single nasty epithet, and so much more.

The woman is a nasty, hateful, destructive, force of nature, that destroys the lives of everybody who gets close and who grifts from the most ignorant, pathetic group of barely human like beings on this planet.

If you apologize to her that lends legitimacy to the idea that she is a victim. But she's no victim.

Was Genghis Khan a victim?

Was Joe McCarthy a victim?

Was Judas Iscariot a victim? (Okay well actually he might have been.)

Sarah Palin is no victim. And apologizing to her is akin to saying you're sorry to a KKK member for splashing mud on their nice white outfit.

James Carville apologizes for calling Grover Norquist "pond scum." Well kinda.

So a couple of days ago James Carville wrote a letter to the editor of The Daily Reveille, the Louisiana State university's student newspaper.

Here is what he wrote: 

The news from the Governor’s office and the State Legislature has attained a level of buffoonery and comedy before unseen; in a state with a long history of both. Our beloved university is being systematically dismantled and as a result of our Governor and a significant portion of our Legislature (twenty-six) pledging allegiance to a Washington lobbyist with the long history of shady dealings. Your future earnings and the quality of your education is being adversely affected by the fact that a pledge was signed to a Washington operator by the name of Grover Norquist that under no conditions could taxes be raised. 

Three things you need to know about Grover Norquist: 

1-The anti-tax fanatic founded Americans for Tax Reform in 1985 and his shady dealings was linked by a congressional committee to Jack Abramoff. 

 2-Norquist was described by fellow conservative, Tucker Carlson, as a, “cash-addled, morally malleable lobbyist.” Norquist is the human equivalent of pond scum. He was a fellow traveler of pond scumite Abramoff and according to the Senate Indian Affairs Committee, Norquist’s organization served as a “conduit” for funds from Abramoff’s clients and conservative lobbying campaigns. 

 3. Our elected officials have allowed him to become the most powerful person in our state. Proposed legislation is routinely sent to him by the Governor to seek his approval. Trust me its true. 

Now for the comedy part, the Governor and Legislature constantly refer to how can they maintain their purity, or as it is sometimes referred to, their “tax virginity.” You have to be kidding me. This reminds me of two over-sexed teenagers dry humping in a backseat of car parked behind a levee wondering how far they can go while maintaining their purity or virginity. We are literally at the mercy of buffoons and comedians. While they’re humping, our university burns. Our only recourse is to stand up and fight for ourselves. Geaux Tigers.

Apparently after writing that Carville received quite a lot of blowback from outraged conservatives over the fact that he called Grover Norquist "pond scum."

This was his response:

"Since the publication of my Letter to the Editor yesterday, I have received a considerable amount of comments on my comparison of Grover Norquist to pond scum. As someone who has spent so much time in the public square, I understand how words and characterizations can be hurtful and unfair to those involved in the comparisons. After prayer and deep reflection and consultation with my spiritual and ethical mentors I am forced to take a step I rarely approach in my public life and that is to apologize to- pond scum."

I am not always in agreement with Carville, but considering the damage that Norquist has done to this country due to his ridiculous "no raising taxes" pledge,  I agree that pond scum should be angered at the comparison.

One thing you can say about Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, he never lets the facts get in the way of a good anecdote.

That is an amazing bit of footage.

There is a British reporter, a man who actually lives and reports the news about Britain, telling Jindal that he is mistaken, and yet he continues to stick to his bullshit story about "no go zones."

 Speaking in London, Governor Bobby Jindal of Louisiana condemned Europe for the existence of “no-go” zones — despite the fact that the Fox News has corrected the statement about them made by guest Steve Emerson four times. But on Monday, Gov. Jindal told the Henry Jackson Society that “in the West, non-assimilationist Muslims establish enclaves and carry out as much of Sharia law as they can without regard for the laws of the democratic countries which provided them a new home.” 

“It is startling to think that any country would allow, even unofficially, for a so called ‘no-go zone,’” he continued. “The idea that a free country would allow for specific areas of its country to operate in an autonomous way that is not free and is in direct opposition to its laws is hard to fathom.” 

When asked about those remarks by CNN reporter Max Ford, the governor said that “I’ve heard from folks here that there are neighborhoods where women don’t feel comfortable going in without veils. That’s wrong. We all know that there are neighborhoods where police are less likely to go into.” 

“I think that the radical Left absolutely wants to pretend like this problem is not here. Pretending it’s not here won’t make it go away,” he added. 

Ford then asked him to elaborate, specifically, about those areas, but Jindal brushed the question aside, saying “I think your viewers know absolutely there are places where the police are less likely to go. They absolutely know there are neighborhoods where they wouldn’t feel comfortable.”

As Raw Story reports Fox News was forced to apologize for those "no go zone" stories not once, not twice, but four different times after they were called out over them by just about everybody. Including British Prime Minister David Cameron who called Emerson "a complete idiot."

So one has to wonder did Bobby Jindal simply not get the memo that the "no go zones" were a bunch of nonsense? Or did he hear that and decide "Screw it. This is too good to let a few facts screw it up for me."

Fox News affiliate "apologizes" for selectively editing and misrepresenting protester's chants to make it seem they were calling for the murder of police officers.

A Baltimore Fox affiliate station apologized to a Black Lives Matter protester on Monday after the station deceptively edited a chant by protesters to say “Kill a cop.” 

According to Talking Points Memo, the chant, led by protester Tawanda Jones, actually said, “We won’t stop, we can’t stop, ’til killer cops, are in cell blocks.” 

On Monday, Gawker noted the deceptive editing, juxtaposing Baltimore Fox station WBFF’s footage against actual footage from the protest event, which the site acquired via C-SPAN. 

The Fox station apologized to the protesters and to Jones both on its Facebook page and in an interview with Jones. 

The Facebook post claimed that the station’s engineers misheard what the protesters were chanting and called it an “honest misunderstanding.”

"Honest misunderstanding?"  Seriously?

As I reported before it appears that the Fox affiliate went out of their way to make the protesters appear scary and bent on violence.

Below you can see the interview with Tawanda Jones, during which the affiliate plays an unedited video of her chants, which is NOT the same footage shown on WBFF originally which also featured a voice over completely misrepresenting what she was saying, and then attempts to make it sound like it was an honest mistake.

It clearly wasn't.

Sarah Palin offers global apology to America on last night's Hannity. Well it's about time! Oh, and GMA interviews witness to the brawl. Update!

I think Palin looks visibly upset during this segment (Which is only a little over four minutes.), especially when she is listening to Hannity attempt to feed her the answers.

At one point Palin says "And as I watch the speech last night Sean, the thought going through my mind is I owe America a global apology. Because John McCain through all of this, John McCain should be our President."

So is Palin finally admitting that she damaged McCain's chances of winning in 2008?

Because that would be huge!

This woman never admits any fault.

Later, after much babbling, Palin tries to compare ISIS to Hitler, at which point Hannity decides "Oops, all out of time now."

So apparently THAT was Sarah Palin trying to change the conversation and get people to stop talking about the throwdown at the hoedown.

However it did not work out for her like that, because when I woke up this morning I saw them discussing it on Morning Joe, Seth Meyers had it last night, and Good Morning America interviewed a witness:

“She was punching him [another man] in the face like six times; it was an assault if I’ve ever seen one,” Eric Thompson said, adding that he was among 70 guests at the birthday party in Anchorage Saturday.

“It wasn’t a light punch either she really hitting him I’m surprised he just sat there and took it.”

The Palin family was asked to leave the party after Track Palin, 21, allegedly attacked another party guest who had previously dated his younger sister, Willow Palin, Thompson said. 

“I heard Sarah Palin yell do you know who I am? All of us could not believe it. We thought we were watching an episode of Jerry Springer,” he added. 

“I gave a statement to police; my wife did and like 10 other people did,” Thompson said.

So that just happened. And it confirms just about everything that we have been hearing about the brawl from our other sources.

And speaking of other sources Amanda Coyne has all kinds of juicy new details, including the actual name of the guy that Bristol Punched, Korey Klingenmeyer, and the fact that Todd tried to choke out somebody who was trying to break up a fight started by the Trackster.

After that ended (The Track fight), Conner, Steve, and Melissa Cleary huddled together close to Thompson, who spotted Bristol and Willow from a distance, walking straight towards them with purpose. 

“They were on a b-line, coming straight at Melissa,” Thompson said. 

The owner of the house, Klingenmeyer, was trying to head them off at the pass. He approached them and told them to leave. Bristol, according to Thompson and other witnesses, planted her feet, “stood straight up, brought her arm back and cold-cocked him right in the face,” Thompson said. 

And then she did it again, about six more times (I actually heard it was more like nine or ten.), before he pushed her away, and she fell, and Todd appeared. 

“I was thoroughly amazed at the restraint Korey showed. He’s a total gentlemen,” Thompson said. 

Another melee. This time Sarah got involved and began to scream profanities at everyone. One source, who didn’t want to be named, said that she was “nearly crawling on top of people,” trying to get into the scrum.

Clearly this story still has legs, and it looks like today it is going to move from the blogs and websites to broadcast TV. Oh boy!

Ted Nugent apologizes to President Obama, but not really.

Controversial rocker Ted Nugent said his remarks calling President Barack Obama a “subhuman mongrel” crossed the line on Friday, after his campaign appearance with Texas’s Republican gubernatorial hopeful caused a stir. 

Nugent was asked by conservative radio host Ben Ferguson on his show if he would apologize to the president. 

“Yes I would,” Nugent said according to audio aired on CNN. “I did cross the line. I do apologize, not necessarily to the president, but on behalf of much better men than myself, like the best governor in America, Gov. Rick Perry, the best attorney general in America.” 

“On behalf of those professional politicians and those who put their heart and soul into representing we the people so aptly like the gentlemen I just mentioned, I apologize for using the street-fighter terminology of subhuman mongrel instead of just using more understandable language such as violator of his oath, the Constitution, the liar that he is,” Nugent said. “I apologize for using the term subhuman mongrel and I will try to elevate my vernacular to the level of those great men that I’m learning from in the world of politics.” 

Asked one more time if he was apologizing directly to the president, Nugent said, “Yes.” 

By the way "subhuman mongrel" is not any "street-fighter terminology" that I have ever heard, and unlike this poopy pants pansie ass I actually WAS a street-fighter.

If Nugent had REALLY wanted to man up and offer a sincere apology he would not have run with his tail between his legs from the CNN interview with Erin Burnett.

No this is no apology in my opinion. However it is an indication that Nugent went way too far with these insults. Too far for even the likes of Rand Paul and Ted Cruz to provide cover for him.

After all once you have lost the support of the fringe, what option do you have left but to fake an apology?

Of course it is really a little late as the damage to Greg Abbott's campaign has already been done as demonstrated by the fact that a local Dallas paper is now asking him to defend Nugent's song "Jailbait" which is about having sex with underage girls.

You know I think the days of Ted Nugent being asked to help with anybody's campaign are now pretty much a thing of the past.
