Results of my most recent poll.
The first choice "I want her off, I cannot stand to watch her anymore!" received 219 votes.
The second "Let her stay on, she is destroying the Republican ticket single handedly" received 548 votes.
The third "I like her! She makes me feel smart. Keep her on!" received 47 votes.
The fourth "John McCain can't lose with her on the ticket. Keep her." received 50 votes.
And the last one, "She needs to leave the ticket and return to star on "30 Rock" where she belongs." received 51 votes. For a total of 945 votes, which is my most successful poll to date.
I have to say i kind of agree with the results as I certainly think that Palin has damaged the McCain campaign beyond repair. I was a little confused that votes kept being cast for the choice to keep her on the ticket because she would insure victory. But I guess I should expect a few trolls to show up now and then.
Anyhow I would to thank everybody who participated for voting.
I will put up another one when I think of a good subject.
This is what Time Magazine has to say about the Branchflower Troopergate Report.
A harsh verdict? Consider the report's findings. Not only did people at almost every level of the Palin administration engage in repeated inappropriate contact with Walt Monegan and other high-ranking officials at the Department of Public Safety, but Monegan and his peers constantly warned these Palin disciples that the contact was inappropriate and probably unlawful. Still, the emails and calls continued — in at least one instance on recorded state trooper phone lines.
Monegan consistently emerges as the adult in these conversations, while the Palin camp displays a childish impetuousness and sense of entitlement.
This is a point that I made in an earlier post. Rather then be insubordinate it appears obvious that Walt Monegan tried desperately to keep the Governor, her husband, and her staff from potentially breaking the law, or bringing negative publicity their way.
Another amateurish sign: Todd Palin's outsize role in the mess. Branchflower said it was out of his jurisdiction to pass judgment on the First Gentleman, but his report paints an extralegal role for Todd Palin that would have made the Hillary Clinton of 1992 blush. In the report, the head of Gov. Palin's security detail says that Todd spent about half of his time in the governor's office — not at a desk (he didn't have one), but at a long conference table on one side of the office, with his own phone to make and receive calls. It became a shadow office, the informal Department of Getting Mike Wooten Fired.
There is no doubt in my mind, that the reason Walt Monegan was terminated rested solely with the fact that he was called upon to play the parent to a group of adolescents and they resented him for it.
In my opinion Walt Monegan would have made a much more competent and productive Governor.
Rachel Maddow talks to Walt Monegan about Branchflower Report.
If you listen carefully you can hear Monegan's genuine struggle with his feelings about how all of this played out. He is at his heart, a good soldier. He feels he did his job correctly and is still clearly stung by how he was treated.
He also still believes that the main, if not only reason, he was fired was because he would not fire Palin's ex-brother in law. And on that subject I agree more with him then I do the findings of the Branchflower Report.
Rachel does an amazing job of getting the truth out there for everybody to see.
Have I mentioned how much we love her?

Obama has ALWAYS been one step ahead of the Republicans.
The man is cool, calm, and smart as hell!
The McCain campaign is tearing out what little hair it has left trying to trip this man up, and he just sidesteps each of their lame attacks like a matador.
The McCain bull vs the Obama matador. Oooh I like that!
The Legislature just voted 12 to 0 to release the Branchflower Report!
YEEHAAWW!!
This is fucking awesome!
Update: Okay here is the link to the report.
Finding Number two:
I find, that although Walt Monegan's refusal to fire Trooper Michael Wooten was not the sole reason he was fired by Governor Sarah Palin, it was likely a contributing factor to his termination as Commissioner of Public Safety. In spite of that, Governor Palin's firing of Commissioner Monegan was a proper and lawful exercise of her constitutional and statutory authority to hire and fire executive branch department heads.
She tried to get Walt Monegan to break the law! And then she lied about it! She is toast!
This is a great day for Alaskans, and this is a great day for our country!
Update 2: I just watched the Rachel Maddow show and she had Walt Monegan on the phone.
Monegan said, despite the findings of this report, that he still believes the reason he was fired was because he would not go after Trooper Wooten. And I agree.
And what everybody keeps forgetting to mention is that Sarah Palin was essentially asking Monegan to break the law. He could NOT legally fire Wooten! If he had tried he would have had to face the wrath of the Alaska Trooper union which would have challenged him in court, and probably had his job. And if they had made the connection that Palin was pushing the Commissioner to go after Trooper Wooten, she would have found herself facing off with that union as well, and her chances of getting re-elected would have been very badly damaged.
So the truly sad thing here is that Walt Monegan tried desperately to protect Sarah Palin from her emotional vendetta. He told her, and Todd, time and time again not to pursue this personal attack anymore and they simply would not take the advice.
So if Sarah Palin finds her political aspirations damaged by this report, and I certainly believe that she will, then she has absolutely nobody to blame except herself. And possibly that weenie husband of hers.
Hurry up and wait time.
So here I sit.I finally get home after work.
I find that the electricity had gone out while I was gone. Now all of the clocks need to be reset and my computer needs to be restarted.
Then I find that my five year old monitor has decided to give up the ghost.
I frantically run to Best Buy, purchase and install a new one, fire up the internet, and..........nothing.
No news, no rumors, no nothing.
I could post the ridiculous report that the McCain campaign released to inform all of us that there was nothing to see here and that we could all just move along. But if you read the Todd Palin deposition, then you already know what the report said.
So all we can do is wait. And wait we shall.
Alaskans for Truth get a mention in the Anchorage Daily News today.
We have worked very hard on this issue. Nobody more so then our intrepid fellow Alaskan blogger Celtic Diva. She is the author of the above letter and the one who keeps all of us informed with numerous e-mails and updates.
Today is the day for justice to prevail in Alaska.
But make no mistake if the McCain campaign and their Texas lawyers manage to bury this report we will only increase our efforts to get the truth out there.
Top Ten Reasons why it is imperative for the Troopergate report compiled by Stephen Branchflower to be made public
9: It will give Meg Stapleton the opportunity to stop lying about Walt Monegan and Troopergate, and to start lying about why Sarah Palin got her ass handed to her in the Vice Presidential debate.
8: If it doesn’t come out then what will Alaska Progressive bloggers write about all weekend?
7: This investigation has cost Alaskans $100,000. The last time Alaskans spent that kind of money with nothing to show for it, was on exotic dancers and cocaine back in the oil drenched 1980’s.
6: Because the McCain campaign does not want the report to be made public, and when was the last time ANYBODY told Alaskans not to do something and we listened?
5: Once this report is finally out we can all stop pretending to like Dan Fagan.
4: The report will undoubtedly convince the Palins that they need to return home where surely they will be inspired to add yet another offspring to their brood, perhaps this one to be named “Phlegm Palin”?
3: It will allow Alaskans to stop focusing on this distraction and get back to watching for Russians trying to come over the border so that we can shoo them back to where they belong.
2: Once it is released perhaps it can be given as reading material to poor little Bristol Palin who apparently is secreted, along with Cathy Baldwin-Johnson and hockey stud Levi Johnston, in a secret vault deep under the White House, or in a bear cache in the wilds of Wasilla, until her mother’s doomed run for Vice President comes to an end.
And the number one reason why it is imperative for the Troopergate report compiled by Stephen Branchflower to be made public?
1: It will clear the name of Walt Monegan and make his mother, possibly the sweetest woman in Alaska, very happy. I mean just look at her, how can anybody not want to see justice done for her son?
Rachel Maddow, favorite host of Progressive Alaska Bloggers, tells the nation about Todd Palin's Troopergate statements.
Nobody covers our Troopergate scandals like Rachel does.
She has done more to help our cause then all other news programs combined (with the possible exception of Keith Olbermann, another favorite of Alaskan bloggers.)
And listen to how well Senator Bill Wielechowski explains what is happening up here in Alaska. And if you listen to the end you can hear when all of us first learned that the McCain campaign was releasing their OWN report. Yeah like we didn't see THAT coming!

McCain/Palin campaign releases pre-emptive report clearing the Governor, the day before the Branchflower report is due to be realeased.
On the eve of a report on a legislative panel's abuse-of-power investigation into Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, campaign officials released their own report clearing her of any wrongdoing.
Palin, running mate to Republican presidential nominee John McCain, is the subject of two inquiries into whether she abused her power by firing her public safety commissioner. The commissioner says he was dismissed for resisting pressure to fire Palin's former brother-in-law, a state trooper.
Lawmakers are expected to release their findings Friday.
The report the McCain-Palin campaign released Thursday night says the firing was based on a budget dispute. Since then, the report says, the matter has been muddled with innuendo, rumor and politics.
Do you smell that ?
That my friends is the smell of desperation!
There is no freaking way that this transparent attempt to diminish the impact of the Branchflower report is going to work. And I mean no way!
But hey if it does work on you, let me know. I think I might just have a "road to nowhere" to sell you.
And if anybody gets their hands on the actual report send it to me. Because this I have to see.
Top Ten Reasons why it is imperative for the Troopergate report compiled by Stephen Branchflower to be made public
Tomorrow is the big day kids! I have every confidence that this report will be available for all of us to pick through (and blog about) for the entire weekend.
Alaskans for Truth will finally see justice done.
Supreme Court refuses to block Troopergate investigation. Sweet!
The ruling means that Steve Branchflower, the investigator hired by the Legislative Council, will release his report as scheduled on Friday. Branchflower is looking into Palin's dismissal of her public safety commissioner, Walt Monegan, and whether she improperly pressured him to fire a state trooper divorced from her sister.
The state Supreme Court rejected an appeal by Texas-based Liberty Legal Institute and Anchorage attorney Kevin Clarkson, who filed the lawsuit on behalf of the Alaska Republican state legislators opposed to their colleagues' investigation.
The state legislators whose names appeared on the appeal attempting to stop the investigation are Wes Keller, Mike Kelly, Fred Dyson, Tom Wagoner, Carl Gatto and Bob Lynn.( These men just made it to the top of my list of legislators whose careers need to come to an end.)
Their lawyers argued that allowing the investigation to proceed would threaten the right under the Alaska Constitution to a "fair and just" investigation by the Legislature. They allege bias among the legislators who are leading the investigation, and that the Legislative Council lacks the authority to order the probe.
They have brought up lawyers from Texas to fight for them, used the resources of the John McCain campaign to insulate them, refused to respond to subpoenas, started their own investigation so that they could control the findings, and twice challenged the legitimate investigation in Alaska's courts, and still justice marches on in this great state!
I am beside myself with pride right now!
They thought they could come up to Alaska and step all over us like we were nothing, and we have stopped them at every turn!
The McCain campaign, the Republicans, and Sarah Palin, did not give Alaska enough credit and now they are finding out the hard way that this state makes you tough in ways they could never have imagined.
And tomorrow when the Branchflower report comes out we will all get to see the truth that they have tried so hard to hide from us.
Goddamn I love this place!
Todd Palin's subpoena answers can be found here.
It is however extremely enlightening as it seems to reveal a sort macho face off between Todd Palin and Trooper Chuck Wooten.
During his child custody case it appears that Wooten made some angry threat toward the Palin family, clearly out of frustration due to their interference in his battle to continue to see his children.
Todd, being a macho Alaska dude, felt a little intimidated by the fact that Wooten was a substantially larger man who carried a gun, and decided to out macho Wooten by hiding behind his wife. Once Sarah became the Governor it seems clear that Todd felt the playing field favored him, and he decided to use his access in an attempt to punish Trooper Wooten.
Now you can read these answers for yourself by clicking the title, but my take is that Todd was clearly paranoid about Wooten retaliating against him or his family, even though there seems to have only been one threat made against Sarah's father during the child custody case and all of the other perceived threats were only in Todd's head. He makes reference to a fear that Wooten would try to frame one of his children for drug possession or take some other kind revenge against the Palin family. It does not take much imagination to see that Todd had become fixated on punishing Trooper Wooten for his past threats and his perception of possible future intimidation's. In short Trooper Wooten threatened Todd's manhood, and it was time for some payback.
And this document does not do any favors for Sarah Palin either.
According to Todd, the Governor believed that her difficulty in gaining access to a King Air Turbo Prop, the plane the state workers use to travel the Alaskan interior, was payback from Walt Monegan for daring to sell the Murkowski jet. The idea that this one plane was in constant demand by a number of state employees, including the State Troopers to transport prisoners, did not seem to mater to the Governor. It appears clear that Sarah Palin felt that her needs should take precedence over the needs of every other state employee.
Todd also brings up an incident where Walt Monegan informs the Palins that he received numerous reports that Sarah had transported little Trig Palin in a vehicle without using a child safety seat. For some reason the Palins take this as unfounded criticism and a personal slam on their parenting by Walt Monegan. They demand to know who made the charge, something that Monegan would not have legally been able to provide, and then decide that the whole thing is politically motivated.
All in all this thing does nothing but shore up the argument that Sarah Palin and her husband are two extraordinarily petty people who feel perfectly within their rights to fire anybody who does not play ball with them, or who dares to disagree with them.
The thing that I find stunning is that this is how Todd Palin comes across WITH this lawyer helping him to edit his answers before handing them to Stephen Branchflower. I would have paid big money to see Todd's original, unedited, answers to these questions. They must have been a hoot!
Update: It looks like the Anchorage Daily News concurs with many of my conclusions concerning this report.
Update 2: Andrew Halcro delves even deeper into this report on his blog.
Last night's Daily Show rocked! And therefore I have no choice but to post the entire episode.
And then we have the delightful Michelle Obama.
Part two.

What if Sarah Palin were a Garbage Pail Kid? Well she would look like this for one.
I know this is juvenile and low brow humor. But it made me laugh and what other reason do I really need to post it?
Five Wasillians are betting that lightening will strike twice. Hey if Sarah Palin can go from mayor to Vice President, anybody can!
Voters here headed to the polls Tuesday, and they'll be heading right back on Oct. 28.Battling Joe Biden is back!
Oh he is on fire!
Obama did a good thing in getting Biden as his running mate. Joe definitely knows how to take the fight to his opponent.
Sarah Palin joke of the day.
Money for nothing and your perks for free. Ted Stevens son, Ben Stevens, may be the final straw that sends his father to prison.
Former Veco President Pete Leathard, Chief Financial Officer Roger Chan and the company's attorney, Jack Miller, were worried about Ben Stevens' compensation, according to documents filed late Sunday in U.S. District Court in the government's corruption case against Ted Stevens.
"Pete Leathard and Roger Chan do not like Ben Stevens," the documents say. "There was concern in Veco that Ben Stevens was not doing any work and he was billing Veco monthly for work. Both Roger Chan and Jack Miller have stated the Veco is going to get in trouble if they do not have Ben Stevens doing something."
Stevens, a former Alaska Senate president, collected more than $300,000 during a seven-year period working for the now-defunct oil field services company, according to state disclosure forms.
Nobody likes Ben Stevens.
Even those who may support his father Ted Stevens, find the son to be a complete waste of oxygen. He is slimy, he is sneaky, and he is lazy.
The only reason that Ben Stevens is not sitting in Bean's Cafe waiting for his free meal is that he had the great fortune of springing from the loins of a man who is a state icon. Without that connection none of us would have ever heard the name "Ben Stevens" unless we were to notice it on the Anchorage police blotter printed in our local paper.
He worked as a commercial crab fisherman after his father bought him everything he needed to get started. By all accounts he was not very good.
Then he started a consulting business for which his father provided the clients. By all accounts he was not very good.
Then his father convinced then Governor Tony Knowles to appoint Ben to the State Senate. And once there his father used his influence again to get little Ben elected as the Majority leader, and then Senate President. By ALL accounts he was the WORST Senate President in Alaska history.
And now he may finally pay his father back for everything he has done for him by being such a greedy weasel that it will disgust the jury so much that they take it out on Senator Stevens. It simply must make Uncle Teddy beam with joy.
Yeah I know it may seem I am a little hard on creepy little Ben Stevens, but you have to understand that I have actually met this sleazeball. He used to come to my gym.
Even if I did not know who he was I would have immediately disliked him, he simply oozes creepiness, and he is one of those furtive little guys who seems to always expect somebody to knock him down and take his lunch money.
I remember having to use a piece of equipment next to him and being aware that he kept shooting sidelong glances at me, looking from the stack of weights I was lifting to my face, and back again. When I finally decided to meet his eyes to determine if he had a question or a problem, he quickly looked away, left the room, and I saw him dressed and going out of the door a few minutes later.
Apparently my mere presence made him uncomfortable. I simply cannot tell you how happy that makes me.

Who won the debate?
CNN commenter's called it a win for Obama as well.
The Drudge Report has it 68% McCain to 28% Obama .
Fox News also calls the debate in Obama's favor with 61% to 39%. Wow, go figure.
Gee you would almost believe that the Drudge Report was a right wing scandal rag.
Well my daughter said that it was a clear win for Barack Obama, and to me her opinion trumps all others.
So the Immoral Minority calls this debate another win for Obama!
Sarah Palin thinks it is time to take the gloves off. Okay let's do that.
This was former revolutionary terrorist Bill Ayers back in his old Weather Underground days, right? Imagine what Sarah Palin is going to do with this incendiary quote as she tears into Barack Obama this week.
Only one problem. The quote is from Joe Vogler, the raging anti-American who founded the Alaska Independence Party. Inconveniently for Palin, that's the very same secessionist party that her husband, Todd, belonged to for seven years and that she sent a shout-out to as Alaska governor earlier this year. ("Keep up the good work," Palin told AIP members. "And God bless you.")
AIP chairwoman Lynette Clark told me recently that Sarah Palin is her kind of gal. "She's Alaskan to the bone ... she sounds just like Joe Vogler."
What some people fail to remember is that Alaska has only been a state for less then fifty years.
There are still people alive who were against statehood. In bars all across this state, with sawdust on the floor, you can still find an old sourdough or two who will bend your ear for hours about why Alaska becoming a state was the worst idea ever.
So it is not at all strange that we have an Independent Party that still openly talks about the idea of Alaska seceding from the union. Many of the older members probably still don't consider themselves part of the USA anyhow.
But what is strange is having anybody in their mid forties joining such a party.
Okay well Sarah herself was not really a member (though she did make a video to help open their convention), but her husband was. And using the same criteria that Sarah herself uses to label Barack Obama, you are judged by the company you keep. And if Obama having served on a board of directors with William Ayers makes him guilty of associating with a domestic terrorist, then what does sleeping with Todd Palin make Sarah?
If the Daily Show clip did not tickle your funny bone enough then perhaps this will help.
Too damn funny! Do yourself a favor and listen the the whole song, I swear you will laugh out loud. Have I ever lied to you? I mean that you know of?
(There is some NSFW language in the song, so make sure the kids are out of the room.)
Top Ten Reasons why it is imperative for the Troopergate report compiled by Stephen Branchflower to be made public
Number 4: The report will undoubtedly convince the Palins that they need to return home where surely they will be inspired to add yet another offspring to their brood, perhaps this one to be named “Phlegm Palin”?
Todd gets to phone in his answers to Troopergate questions. What is he hiding?
The campaign has fought the Legislative Council's investigation, claiming it's become politicized by Democrats. Todd Palin and various Palin aides refused to testify under subpoena before the Senate Judiciary Committee in September.
The attorney general sued to get the subpoenas of the Palin aides dismissed, but lost the case in Superior Court Thursday.
The McCain-Palin campaign claims Todd Palin's written responses to Stephen Branchflower -- the investigator hired by a bi-partisan group of 12 legislators -- would satisfy the subpoena.
Well the McCain/Palin campaign is full of shit!
This will not "satisfy" the subpoena.
Part of the purpose of a subpoena is to have a face to face interview with the person so that the interviewer can hear the answers for themselves as well as see the body language and facial expressions of the interviewee.
This is not how somebody responses to a subpoena. It certainly was not how I responded to a subpoena during my child custody case. If this kind of response was allowed don't we all think that Bill Clinton would have avoided that whole "it depends on what the term "is" is" debacle during the Monica Lewinsky investigation? If it was an option for him to write down the answers to those questions and have his lawyer look them over before handing them in to the investigators, don't we all think he would have done it?
Only guilty people refuse to comply with a subpoena.
Everything the Palins have done in response to this investigation has demonstrated their guilt.
But it is time for this dance to come to an end.
It is time for justice to be done.
It is time for ALL participants in this investigation to cooperate.
Do you hear that Governor? It is time for you to come back and face the music! You are not special, and neither is your husband! We have watched politicians in this state tried and convicted by the truckload, and if you think you and Todd will escape Alaskan justice then you must have forgotten where you come from lady!
The Daily Show's Jason Jones visits Wasilla to watch the VP debate. Oh God I don't think I can watch!
Wow! Jason Jones managed to get responses that were racist, homophobic, and completely ignorant all in one segment.
Yep he was in Wasilla alright!

Rolling Stone deconstructs John McCain.

Are all conservative Republicans as unhinged as Elizabeth Hasselback? Because if they are then they don't need to vote, they need to be medicated.
Now see this is why I don't watch The View. What the hell is wrong with that woman?
The William Ayers smear is such an incredible reach that I cannot wrap my head around why the Republicans are so desperate to make the connection. Is this really all they have to use against Barack Obama?
In the first place his connection to Obama is completely innocent. While it appears true that Ayers invited local prominent Chicagoans to his home to meet the young Barack Obama in the mid 1990's, and they then served a few years on the board of Woods Fund of Chicago, so what? What does that have to do with anything?
It is not like Bill Ayers spent long afternoons in Chicago teaching Barack Obama about constructing a bomb, or how to make a Molotov cocktail, or how to start a really good riot. All of the evidence simply points to Obama having come into contact with at least one man whose past activities are unsavory at best. Undoubtedly there were others that we, and most probably even Barack Obama, will never know about.
This seems to fall into an ongoing theme with the Republicans. If you spend an afternoon with a man who blew things up in the 1960's, you are a terrorist. If you lived once lived in a Muslim country, you are a Muslim! If you shared a border with Russia, you are knowledgeable about foreign affairs. And if you happen to live in a state with a lot of oil under it, you must be an energy expert. None of those examples make any sense yet ALL of them have been espoused by the McCain campaign.
This is pathetic. And from John McCain, a man who suffered through similar slander in 2000 at the hands of George Bush and Karl Rove, it is especially heartbreaking.
Newly discovered website addresses the Trig Palin paternity issue, with lots of new information to digest.
My fellow Alaskan bloggers have all moved on, but this is still an issue which nags at me almost on a daily basis.
I am not sure I will ever get the proof that will finally put this issue to rest, but I can guarantee I will not stop digging until I am satisfied or the Palin family finally provides proof.
Which brings me to my own personal vigil. This marks day 28 of:
The Immoral Minority's demand for the release of Sarah Palin's Medical Records!!
Update: I have added a new blogroll on the left dedicated to blogs and websites that are focused on the questions surrounding the birth of Trig Palin. Now you know where to come to find the newest evidence and questions surrounding this very important issue.
If anybody knows of other sites that are focused on this subject, send me the links and I will add them to the blogroll if I find them appropriate.

The seven state employees that had previously refused to comply with subpoenas concerning Troopergate investigation have had a change of heart.
Colberg said the decision comes in light of a judge's ruling last week rejecting an attempt to quash the subpoenas.
All seven employees have decided, in light of Superior Court Judge Peter Michalski's decision, to cooperate with the legislative investigation, according to a statement today from Colberg's office.
"Despite my initial concerns about the subpoenas, we respect the court's decision to defer to the Legislature," Colberg said. "We are working with Senator Hollis French to arrange for the testimony of the seven state employee plaintiffs."
Gee I wonder what changed their minds?
Was it a rally last Saturday in which 1,800 Alaskans came out and demanded that Sarah Palin be held accountable for what she is doing to justice in this state?
Or could it be the petition that the "Alaskans for Truth" members delivered to Palin media guy Bill McAllister demanding the resignation of Talis Colberg last Wednesday?
Or could it just be that they have been paying attention to how the poll numbers are going and realize that there is a better then average chance that Sarah Palin will NOT be the next Vice President, and therefore not have enough influence to save them from having their asses thrown in jail.
Well no matter the cause, the important thing is that we may finally see the return of justice to Alaska. And that is all any of us ever wanted.
Now the next step is getting Todd "subpoena dodging" Palin to testify for the REAL investigation and then we can just sit back and wait for justice to run its course.
Ah the joys of living in Alaska!
And yes in case you were wondering this is a little early for snow EVEN in Alaska.
The first snow fall almost always melts off, but this is pretty heavy, so I would not bet the farm on that.
Top Ten Reasons why it is imperative for the Troopergate report compiled by Stephen Branchflower to be made public
Posted without comment.
(Hat tip to Daily Kos.)
Teamster Treasurer Richard Trumka, who could REALLY be described as "Joe Six Pack", talks about racism and Barack Obama.
This guy pulls no punches in describing why people should be honest about why they will not vote for Barack Obama.
And then he goes on to tell them they need to get over it, for the sake of their children.
If you like this PLEASE borrow it and post it yourself.
It is a great speech and deserves to be seen by everyone!
Unlike Philadelphia our Obama rally did not have Bruce Springsteen, but it was a huge success regardless.

This photograph quite literally shows EVERYBODY who showed up for this McCain/Palin event. And the feeling of it was so somber that I kept expecting the pallbearers to walk by with the body at any moment.

In this picture we see Palin spokesperson Meg Stapleton, who stayed out on the fringes of the crowd, more of an observer then a participant.
I have a lot of mixed feelings about Ms. Stapleton. I have developed some anger toward her for her indefensible attacks on Walt Monegan's character and her apparent allergic reaction to the truth, but I watched her play with her toddler during this event and she seemed like a loving mother and that speaks to me on a very primal level. I guess I just believe that when all of this is over Meg Stapleton will have a difficult time looking in the mirror. After observing her with her little girl I just can't believe she is all bad.
When looking at these photos it is just so apparent how much more color there was at the Obama campaign compared to that other gathering. And I should point out that the signs and buttons were not the only things more colorful at the Obama rally. The McCain/Palin vigil could not have been a whiter affair if somebody had unloaded a dump truck full of mayonnaise into the room. I counted the number of brown faces on one hand, where as the Obama campaign was a veritable rainbow of ethnicity's. In Anchorage that is a very impressive feat indeed.
And the sense of purpose and camaraderie was infectious for all that attended. And that, in a nutshell, is the true promise of the Obama campaign. Barack Obama serves as a conduit that breaks down racial barriers and connects all of us in a way that NO other Presidential candidate has ever been able to do.
Barack Obama represents the promise of an America that should be, and the other rally is the world as it is currently. The choice should be obvious to all.
Saturday night Live has fun with the Vice Presidential debate.
Queen Latifah as Gwen Ifill is inspired casting! Her looks of disbelief at Tina Fey's answers are priceless!
I can't believe she mentioned Gladyswood Elementary school in the skit. (That is where my kids used to attend school.)
My favorite line? This one delivered by Tina Fey: "I believe marriage should be a sacred institution between two unwilling teenagers."

I participated in the Obama rally today, and spied on the McCain/Palin rally as well. I have been a naughty, naughty blogger!
I went to the Obama rally downtown. It was chilly and cloudy, not the wonderful clear skies of our last rally, but I do live in Alaska after all so what can I expect?
I met up with Shannyn Moore and we swapped some info about posts we are both working on, and possibly some DNA as a result of the full body hug that I received, which occurred right before she introduced me to her boyfriend. Awkward!
Then I caught up with AK Muckraker from Mudflats, awho said that they were thinking of going over the McCain/Palin rally when it started about an hour later. I thought that sounded like fun and offered to tag along.
So after hanging out at the Obama rally, which looked to be about 1,200 people strong despite the inclement weather, Muckraker and I headed to the Dena’ina Convention Center where the other rally was being held.
When we arrived the first thing I noticed was how quiet it was. Unlike the Obama rally there was not very much energy pouring from the room that contained the so called rally. And when we walked through the doors we quickly understood why.
There were only about 300 to 350 people in the room at the very most. But the most pathetic thing is how they had them ALL scrunched together up near the stage to make it look like more people for the cameras. If you look at the picture that my friend Muckraker took below you can see what I mean.

So we arrived in time to here Sarah Palin addressing her fans on the phone, and witnessed a few Republican candidates mount the stage, genuflect to the importance of being Palin, and then ask for our support, and then we had had enough and made for the door to head back to the rally that did not look like somebody had just died.
All in all it was beyond pathetic. I will post more tomorrow when Muckraker posts the rest of the pictures taken at the events. (There is even has one of Palin spokesperson Meg Stapleton, who surprisingly did not have either horns nor tail. I think I lost a bet on that.)
Todd Palin is going to testify in Troopergate investigation! No not the REAL investigation. The phony one controlled by the McCain campaign.
Todd Palin refused to testify under subpoena last month in a separate investigation by the Alaska Legislature. Petumenos is heading a parallel probe by the Alaska State Personnel Board into whether Sarah Palin, the Republican vice presidential nominee, acted improperly when she fired Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan this summer.
Both are looking into whether Palin, her husband and her aides pressured Monegan to fire a state trooper who was involved in a contentious divorce from Palin's sister and then fired Monegan when he wouldn't dismiss the trooper. Palin says Monegan was ousted over budget disagreements.
This is bullshit! Todd Palin is not going to answer any REAL questions about Troopergate and his involvement in it, he is only going to answer the pre-planned pretend questions that this puppet investigation will pose to him.
They are simply playing a game of hide and seek hoping to put the REAL investigation off until Sarah can be elected Vice President and use the power of the President to quash this thing for good.
Well do I have bad news for her!
Republican stormtroopers, the dark side of the force, and the future of our country.
Now as you probably know since Sarah Palin was plucked form relative obscurity by John McCain and chosen as the spokesmodel for his campaign, there has been an aggressive effort to quash the investigation into "Troopergate".
The attempt to stop this investigation by five Alaska Republican Senators was thrown out of court yesterday by Judge Michalski, but almost immediately these same Senators filed an "emergency appeal" to have the case heard by Alaska's Supreme Court.
The five Senators are being represented by Texas Attorney Kevin Clarkson, who works for the firm of Brena, Bell, & Clarkson.
This is how the firms website describes this attorney: Mr. Kevin G. Clarkson is an attorney with Brena, Bell & Clarkson. Mr. Clarkson received his Doctor of Jurisprudence (J.D.) cum laude from Willamette University. Mr. Clarkson's practice focuses upon state and federal civil litigation at the administrative, pretrial, trial, and appellate levels regarding oil and gas pipeline transportation, professional liability (attorney and accountant malpractice), tort (personal injury and wrongful death), aviation and products liability, employment, construction, tax, RICO, fraud, fiduciary liability, contract, and constitutional issues.
But why would the five Republicans hire this oil and gas lawyer to argue a case concerning the abuse of Gubernatorial power? And who pays his bill?
Well Liberty Legal Institute seems to be footing the bill. This is their Mission Statement:
To achieve expanded religious freedom and family autonomy through litigation and education designed to limit the government's power, increase the religious rights of citizens and promote parental rights.
Now Liberty Legal Institute is a non-profit organization. So they are apparently offering their services for free. But why? How does the Troopergate investigation infringe on anybodies religious freedoms?
Are you confused?
Then let us examine who LLI sent to represent them in this case, Kelly Shackelford.
Kelly Shackelford, is not only the lead counsel for Liberty Legal Institute he is also the president of the Free Market Foundation.
Here is their Mission Statement: The Lone Star Ministry Connection exists to protect the freedom of our churches and ministries throughout the state of Texas to impact the lives of their families, attenders, and congregants with the truth. We are guided by the principles which limit government, promote free enterprise, and uphold Judeo-Christian values.
So once again the question arises as to why these groups are willing to spend so much time and money on a case that has to do with Alaska politics and the Troopergate investigation, and nothing to do with religious freedom or families rights?
But then we learn that Mr. Shackelford is also connected with Focus on the Family's James Dobson.
James Dobson says this about our Governor:
"Sen. McCain’s selection of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is an outstanding choice that should be extremely reassuring to the conservative base of his party. She is a strong executive who hates corruption and puts principle above politics. After floating the names of Tom Ridge and Sen. Joe Lieberman in recent weeks – selections that would have created consternation among pro-family Republicans – Sen. McCain has chosen a solid conservative who has a reputation for espousing common sense.
"Gov. Palin’s commitment to the sanctity of life is not just a political position. She was advised to abort her fifth and youngest child when it was learned he had Down syndrome. She refused. That’s bravery and integrity in action.
"Gov. Palin’s views align with Sen. McCain’s own stated position that human life is precious and must be protected – and that gives us confidence he will keep his pledges to voters regarding the kinds of justices he would nominate to the Supreme Court and the way he would conduct our nation’s domestic and international affairs. This selection by Sen. McCain is a very encouraging sign for his campaign.”
Ah now I am beginning to see what is happening here. Apparently the religious right has decided that Sarah Palin is their new George W. Bush. She is their "chosen one" and they are going to work hard to protect her reputation and get her into the White House.
Now it may, or may not, be a coincidence that the gas & oil companies have ALSO chosen Palin as their "chosen one" since they have pinned all of their hopes on her ability to get the Alaska gas pipeline built.
So to sum up it appears that the oil companies are more then likely donating tax exempt funds to the Liberty Legal Institute to launder their fee which is being paid to Kevin Clarkson to try to stop an investigation which may damage Sarah Palin's career, and put a stop to ALL of their nefarious plans. "Oh what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive".
So how can you help? I am glad you asked.
We Alaskans would really appreciate if you could send a link to this post and this link about the same issue from my fellow blogger Shannyn Moore, who actually confronted Kelly Shackelford in person, to the following e-mail address:
To contact Keith Olbermann or Rachel Maddow go here: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/10285339
(These two heroes should be our first choices. Especially since Shannyn has already appeared twice on "Countdown" and wouldn't it be great to hear her tell her story of telling Kelly Shackelford to "get the f*#k out my state" to a wider audience?)

Top Ten Reasons why it is imperative for the Troopergate report compiled by Stephen Branchflower to be made public
Bill Maher's New Rules from October 3, 2008. Last night actually.
"Governor Avon Lady" is my new favorite nickname for Sarah Palin!
Friday, October 03, 2008
The McCain stormtroopers simply will not take NO for an answer.
They're asking the state's high court to decide by the close of business today whether it will hear their appeal.
The action comes the day after Anchorage Superior Court Judge Peter Michalski threw out their lawsuit attempting to halt the Legislature's investigation of what's known as Troopergate. The suit was filed on behalf of a group of Republican state legislators who oppose the investigation.
Texas-based Liberty Legal Institute and Anchorage attorney Kevin Clarkson, representing the group of anti-investigation legislators, want the state Supreme Court to decide their appeal by Thursday.
This was not unexpected, but I think it is just too late for these guys to kill this report.
But look how freaking desperate they are to keep Alaskans (and you dear reader), from learning the truth! Now be honest, have you EVER wanted to read the findings of a legislative investigation as much as you want to read this one?
This is almost as exciting as waiting for another Harry Potter book to hit the bookstores!
Update: Okay this Liberty Legal Institute mentioned in the article above is some quasi-religious legal agency that specializes in taking on legal cases that defend religious freedoms. This is their Mission Statement: To achieve expanded religious freedom and family autonomy through litigation and education designed to limit the government's power, increase the religious rights of citizens and promote parental rights.
So the question is, what the hell are they doing up here in Alaska?
Okay this article in Time magazine makes me feel MUCH better.
Ah, women, the consistently, tragically underestimated constituency. What the Democrats learned during the primaries and the Republicans might now be finding out the hard way, I learned at my very academic, well-regarded all-girls high school: that is never to discount the ability of women to open a robust, committed, well-thought-out vat of hatred for another girl.
Women are weapons-grade haters. Hillary Clinton knows it. Palin knows it too. When women get their hate on, they don't just dislike, or find disfavor with, or sort of not really appreciate. They loathe — deeply, richly, sustainingly. I do not say this to disparage my gender; women also love in more or less the same way.
Now this article was obviously written BEFORE last nights debate, but as I learned from many very vocal female commenter's who visited this site yesterday, Sarah Palin's little show did not impress them ONE LITTLE BIT.
I argued that Palin was able to give the Right Wing the ability to argue that Palin is better when she is talking to the American people and not so good when the so-called "liberal media" interviews her. I also argued that from a male perspective she may have gained a lot of points by acting flirtatious toward the cameras, winking like a prostitute picking up a john, and using words like "betcha" and "gotcha".
But what I learned from the ladies who called me to task for daring to suggest that by some definitions she may have actually performed well, was that THEY were supremely unimpressed by her antics.
This article just reinforces the fact that for the women who have seen right through Sarah's little act, there will be no recovery for Palin after this debate. Though she may have made some men forgive her past sins, she more then likely just made the women who dislike her, dislike her even more! So the only women who will support Sarah Palin and John McCain in November, are the women who were ALWAYS going to support her no matter what.
So now having spent all day fretting over what this debate will mean to the election, I am very confident that it will not do a damn thing for McCain! And that the reason it will have no real impact must be credited to the woman voters in this country.
Thanks ladies!
The dark side has an ENTIRELY different take on last nights VP debate.
Okay now I am aware that this is just FOX News and therefore a journalistic joke, and that Frank Lutz has the credibility of a carnival barker, but my point in posting this is how Sarah Palin gave them a performance just good enough for them to run with it.
And Joe Biden could not call her on her bullshit because of her coquettish approach to the debate. He would have looked like a bully and he knew it.
So since Biden was biting his tongue Sarah got to skate through another debate just like her Gubernatorial debate in 2006, which allows the rabid Right Wing to call it a win for her.
Can't imagine such a thing? Then meet the boneheads at Little Green Footballs, and at Power line, and the crazy ass self loathing Michelle Malkin, and from the man who may be the most responsible for Sarah Palin being on the ticket, we have this from Rush Limbaugh.
There are many others but this is a fairly good sampling of how these Right Wing soldiers have received just enough from Sarah to start talking about media bias, and medai filters, and garbage like that to explain how Palin could look so incompetent while talking to Katie Couric and appear much more competent during the debate.
For George Bush the mainstream media lowered the bar of expectations to limbo height so that he could get over it, for Sarah Palin they buried it in the sand.

Vice Presidential debate redux.
Here is the Vice Presidential debate in its entirety.
I am posting this mainly for my daughter who could not watch the debate last night, but also for anybody else who missed the debate or wants to watch it again.
(If you cannot sit through the entire video, you can simply click the title and it will take you to a transcript instead. Have fun.)

Did tonights debate damage the McCain/Palin ticket? No. Did it help? God help us it might have.
Did she lose? Not entirely.
Did she win? Hell no!
Joe Biden was smart, well spoken, dapper, and boring as hell.
Did he lose? No. Did he win? Yeah but who did not expect that?
Things I learned:
Sarah Palin, unlike every other politician, does not have to respect or answer the questions posed by the moderator.
Sarah Palin will not be allowing the filter of the MSM to keep her from connecting the American people anymore. (Take that Katie Couric!)
Sarah Palin did not know what the hell she was talking about, even though she delivered her prepared answers with a high school debater's level of competence. The Republican base will eat it up with a spoon.
All in all, Sarah Palin ruined my night by not crashing and burning. And I will simply NEVER forgive her for that.
Snarky comment of the night: So at the end of the debate Palin trotted her whole dysfunctional family up on stage, with the noticeable exception of son Track, who is in the military now, little Piper, and Bristol.
Why no Bristol? She should only be about six months pregnant about now. And since she is so motherly toward little Trig, why not have her help with him to foster her maternal instincts before she gives birth to her own little hillbilly? I just can't help wondering why she was absent. It is one of those things that makes me go hmmmm.
Judge refuses to halt "Troopergate" investigation!
Superior Court Judge Peter Michalski heard arguments from both sides this morning and ruled just before 5 p.m. this afternoon.
"I think it's great. It's a big day for the state of Alaska," said Peter Maassen, the lawyer representing the Legislative Council, which ordered the investigation.
Well that is great news for Alaskans!
I knew Judge Michalski would not put up with this nonsense!
Alaska Attorney General Talis Colberg said he didn't know whether he'd appeal or if he'll now advise the subpoenaed state officals to cooperate with the investigation. He said he needed to consult with them.
"I'm going to talk to the clients before I talk to you," he said.
In other words he has to check with the McCain campaign to find out what they want him to do next.
Creationists attempt to use new argument, called the"strengths and weaknesses" provision, to challenge evolution in public schools.
The group worries that social conservatives on the 15-member board will insist that public schools teach the "weaknesses of evolution." The board plans to adopt new science curriculum standards next year.
"We are here to support and promote strong, clear, modern science education in Texas schools," said David Hillis, professor of integrative biology at the University of Texas at Austin. "Texas public schools should be preparing our kids to succeed in the 21st century, not promoting political and ideological agendas that are hostile to a sound science education."
Scientists contend the "strengths and weaknesses" provision is simply an excuse to expose students to "supernatural and fringe explanations" instead of sticking to traditional scientific principles.
"We should teach students 21st-century science, not some watered-down version with phony arguments that nonscientists disingenuously call 'weaknesses,' " said Sahotra Sarkar, a professor of integrative biology at UT. "Calling 'intelligent design' arguments a weakness of evolution is like calling alchemy a weakness of chemistry, or astrology a weakness of astronomy."
Wow these "intelligent design" proponents are getting trickier. You think they might be evolving?
I will again point out that even if these people were to uncover a flaw in the evolutionary theory, that it would in no way immediately mean that the answer to the question of man's origins would have to be found in the Christian bible.
It would be like finding that there was a discrepancy in the findings by a famous Anthropologist and then deciding to sit and watch reruns of the "Flintstones" in an attempt to uncover the truth about prehistoric people.
It is the kind of simplistic argument that only somebody who received their education in a bible college could possible believe was logical. Since logic in a bible college is a rare thing indeed.
Top Ten Reasons why it is imperative for the Troopergate report compiled by Stephen Branchflower to be made public

Want to know where Alaska bloggers will be this weekend?

A rally last Saturday, a rally this Saturday, I am turning into a rally groupie lately.
Oh well, what else do I have to do with my time? And I think this one is gong to be HUGE!
The voices of 1,200 Alaskans were heard in the Governor's Anchorage office yesterday as the Alaskans for Truth delivered their petition.
Before long the group crowded into elevators and hit the governor's office. They asked for Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell and got Palin spokesman Bill McAllister.
Biegel read the petition, which accuses Colber of witness tampering and blocking the Legislature's investigation of Palin, before handing McAllister the paperwork.
"I'm accepting the physical documents. Not the premises," he said.
Someone asked when the governor or attorney general would get the petition.
"There's no specific process involved here. ... You've turned in some signatures, so I'll ask them what they want me to do with them.
The scene then turned into a kind of impromptu press conference with cameras rolling on the bloggers as they grilled McAllister.
Blogger Philip Munger asked how often Palin and Lt. Gov. Parnell talk. Had the governor spoken to the attorney general in the last week?
“I don’t know specifically. The attorney general has been given his direction and he’s following it. We’re in uncharted territory here legally,” McAllister said.
There were fewer of us then I had hoped would show up, but those that did show up were certainly both eloquent, when asking questions or being interviewed, and passionate about ensuring that justice is done in Alaska.
Celtic Diva did an amazing job and, even though she was fighting a case of nerves, delivered our petition to Palin mouthpiece Bill McAllister with confidence in her voice. She did all of us proud.
The one disappointing thing from my perspective was the lack of follow up questions coming from Jason Moore of KTUU, and the other reporters on the scene.
It was left up to bloggers Philip Munger of Progressive Alaska, and Shannyn Moore to ask the only really probing questions of the impromptu press conference.
Here is KTUU's video of the event.
And their written account can be found here.

Top Ten Reasons why it is imperative for the Troopergate report compiled by Stephen Branchflower to be made public
(There will be a new one of these everyday until October 10th, the day the report is supposed to be made public.)
The "unethical" Katie Couric asks Joe Biden and Sarah Palin some of those dreaded questions, this time about Supreme Court decisions.
Watch CBS Videos Online
Katie Couric: "What other Supreme Court cases do you disagree with?"
Sarah Palin: "Hmmmmmmm..Well..lets see of course in the great history of America there have been rulings that there is never going to be absolute consensus by every American and, um, there are those issues again like Roe v Wade where I believe are best held on a state level and addressed there so, again going through the history of America there..there would be others but um..."
Katis Couric: "Can you think of any?"
Sarah Palin: "I would think of..of..any again that would best be dealt with on a more local level, maybe I would take issue with..but..hum..you know as a mayor, and a governor, and even as a vice president if I am so privileged to serve would be in a position of changing those things but in supporting the law of the land as it reads today."
So go ahead and tell me how this airhead is going to beat Joe Biden in a debate.
Unless they put Dick Cheney on the stage wearing a Sarah Palin mask this is going to be a bloodbath!
Sarah Palin claims that Katie Couric and Charles Gibson are unethical journalists.
She continued: "But Im not going to pick a fight with those who buy ink by the barrelful. Im going to take those shots and those pop quizzes and just say thats OK, those are good testing grounds. And they can continue on in that mode. Thats good. That makes somebody work even harder. It makes somebody be even clearer and more articulate in their positions. So really I dont fight it. I invite it." ( I learn something new every time I listen to Sarah Palin being interviewed. It is a little like spending the day in an Ivy League school, in a class taught by the janitor. For instance I learned that as an Alaskan I am an expert on Russia, that was news to me. I also learned that we can solve the issue of Global Warming without paying any attention at all to how it happened in the first place Who needs all of those "facts"? And now I learn that CBS and ABC News buys their ink by the barrel. Since they both broadcast their news stories on TELEVISION I cannot imagine why they need so much ink. But since Sarah Palin said it, well then it must be true.)
I hear that this Gwen Ifill lady that is moderating the Vice Presidential debates is planning on asking questions too. Poor Sarah Palin! Will she ever find an ethical journalist who will just let her sit quietly in front of the cameras and look pretty? Is that too much to ask?
Jon Stewart is not buying the Bush administration bailout plan.
I think that Jon is working on having himself a stroke.
Calm down Jon, you need to remain calm and cool during these troubled times.
If only you knew somebody who could hook you up with some sort of substance that could help you to relax. Oh look Bill Maher is your guest tonight.
Problem solved.
Sarah Palin admits she is an alcoholic!
She simply attempted to categorize herself as somebody who is a "Joe six pack" type of person. Nobody gets labeled a "Joe six pack" for drinking ONE beer. Oh no. "Joe six pack" is a description of somebody who drinks at least SIX beers in a sitting.
And to earn this sobriquet you don't just do this once in a blue moon, you do this all of the damn time!
And if you "do this all of the damn time" what does that make you? An alcoholic.
Anybody disagree with that definition? Of course not, it is all logic-like and everything.
Now do I REALLY think Sarah Palin is an alcoholic? Of course not.
She just called herself "Joe six pack" in a desperate attempt to paint herself as an everyday person who represents the beliefs and values of the average American. But that is a load of bullshit!
Unless the "average American" is a fundamentalist, creation teaching, power hungry whackjob then the only person she represents is herself.
I actually doubt very seriously that Sarah Palin even drinks alcohol. How could mere alcohol compete with the incredible intoxication that power and the abuse of that power provides?
But we are catching on to the obscene mischaracterizations of Governor Sarah Palin by the McCain/Palin campaign and the MSM. Even in Alaska, where she bribed every man woman and child with a $1,200 dollar check, her numbers are slipping.
Today begins the "Countdown for Truth".

The Branchflower Report on the independent “Troopergate” investigation is due to the Legislative Council on October 10.
Alaskans for Truth has been informed that members of the Legislative Council have been put under incredible pressure by the McCain Campaign to VOTE AGAINST releasing the report to the public.
The Legislative Council MUST accept and release to the public the final report from Independent Investigator, Stephen Branchflower!
What we can do: TAKE ACTION!
· Starting Wednesday, October 1st email and/or call all 14 members of the State Legislative Council each day! (contact information listed below)
· Respectfully urge the legislators to stand up for truth and vote YES to accept Branchflower’s report and make it available to the people!
· Alaskans, call and email the legislators from your districts. Send the message that you expect them to support the Legislative Council’s investigation and reject the McCain campaign’s attempt to stonewall the democratic process!
The McCain campaign is attempting to stonewall, subvert, and remove the Legislative Council’s investigative rights through lies, smears, and legal wrangling.
LIE: The State Legislative Council is a group of partisan Democrats.
FACTS:
· Ten Republicans and four Democrats are voting members of the State Legislative Council.
· All Council members who were present (eight Republicans and four Democrats) voted unanimously to hire Stephen Branchflower, a former prosecutor, to investigate possible wrongdoing by the Governor’s office
SMEAR: Walt Monegan was fired for poor job performance.
FACTS:
· Sarah Palin has changed her explanations as often as she changes her shade of lipstick. Since July, she has claimed that a) she didn’t fire Walt Monegan -- he quit, b) she did fire Walt Monegan but it was only in order to go a “new direction,” c) she claimed it was for poor job performance; and the latest one d) Walt Monegan is insubordinate and a rogue cop. She seems unable to make up her mind.
· Walt Monegan has a record of 30 years of exemplary public service to the State of Alaska, including his role as of Commissioner of AK Dept. of Public Safety.
LEGAL WRANGLING: Talis Colberg, on the advice of the McCain campaign, has filed suit to quash legislative subpoenas.
FACT:
· This is an attempt by Colberg to protect himself from the consequences of his blatant and possibly illegal intrusion in the legislative investigation, and to prevent the release of the Branchflower report!
Urge our lawmakers to accept Steve Blanchflower’s report on October 10 and promptly make it available to the public. U.S. voters deserve this information!
