So first we had Joe Miller's supporters put forth this rather ugly political ad aimed at Lisa Murkowski.
Which the Murkowski supporters have now responded to with this fairly immature advertisement of their own.
The next thing you know Joe Miller will tell everybody that Murkowski has cooties and Lisa will call him a doo-doo head while she is chasing him around the monkey bars at recess.
Now just for contrast take another look at the ad put out by the only Democrat in the race.
Now my fellow Alaskans ask yourself this, wouldn't you rather have the only grown up in this race representing you in Washington? I know I would!
If you are looking for even more reasons to vote for Scott McAdams then head on over to the Daily Kos and prepare to be impressed.
Morality is not determined by the church you attend nor the faith you embrace. It is determined by the quality of your character and the positive impact you have on those you meet along your journey

Are Sarah Palin's "Mama Grizzlies" much like REAL grizzlies in the wild, "aggressive, irrational and mean?" Oh I think we know the answer to that question.
From Newsweek:
Palin first described herself as a mama grizzly during her 2008 vice presidential run. She floated the current usage—as a movement—in a speech before a pro-life women’s group in May, and soon she was reflecting on the special qualities of mama bears on her Facebook page. “Mama bears not only [forage] for themselves to prepare for winter, they [work] twice as hard to slay salmon for their cubs, too.” By late June, Palin’s political-action committee had realized the emotional power of the image, and made an Internet ad—nearly half a million views to date, titled “Mama Grizzlies”—which is as plaintive and urgent as a 1960s protest song. It calls America’s women to a sisterhood of grizzlies “because moms kind of just know when there’s something wrong.”
With few exceptions, the grizzlies have been disinterested in the issues and policies that their political opponents say are good for children—despite new numbers from the census showing that rising numbers of America’s children are poor. Most of these candidates have vowed to fight to repeal President Obama’s health-care plan, for instance, and Bachmann and Haley have taken special aim at CHIP, a federal program aimed at helping low-income kids get health insurance. In 2001, as a member of Nevada’s state Assembly, Angle voted no on a domestic-violence bill that would recognize restraining orders issued in other states. In 2007 Haley, a state representative, voted against a measure that would have created a kindergarten program for at-risk kids. As governor of Alaska in 2008, Palin slashed funding for Covenant House that included resources for teenage mothers. In 2009 Bachmann voted no on a bill that would give federal employees four weeks of paid parental leave.
Palin, Haley, Bachmann, Angle, and O’Donnell all declined to comment for this story. (Most grizzly candidates regard the mainstream press as the enemy.) But a review of their positions suggests that a grizzly’s first priority is to protect her cubs by keeping government the heck out of their lives.
“Government,” in this sense, generally means broad intrusions, such as taxes, the U.S. Department of Education, and federal stimulus money, as well as smaller ones, such as proposals to increase Pell Grants (designed to make college more affordable, opposed by Bachmann). From a grizzly’s point of view, the government is everywhere, and it needs to back off. “We’ve watched the tentacles of big government weasel their way into every part of our lives,” said O’Donnell at a Values Voters speech in Washington, D.C. “Bureaucrats and politicians in Washington think they should decide what kind of lightbulb we use, what kind of toilets we flush, what kind of car we drive…They’ll buy your teenage daughter an abortion, but they won’t let her buy a sugary soda in a school’s vending machine.” O’Donnell, who doesn’t have children, refers in speeches to “our grandchildren,” thus forging a conceptual alliance with her sister bears.
Fundamentally, the mama-grizzly phenomenon is not really a movement or even a political term that represents a fully coherent set of ideas. It’s mostly a marketing tool, meant to draw attention to Americans’ broad dissatisfaction with the way things are. Fair enough. Many people are dissatisfied, and they want to vent and they want to change Washington. But in the wild, real mama grizzlies are known to be aggressive, irrational, and mean. The issues facing the country are complex, and bears are not.
I know that Newsweek is going out of business so perhaps they do no feel they have much to lose, but I am VERY gratified to see them joining Rolling Stone, Vanity Fair, and a number of courageous blogs in refusing to allow the Palin media machine to intimidate them into avoiding important stories that might piss a certain ex-half term governor, and her crazy ass followers, off.
My feeling is that the more people who speak out and hold their ground against the backlash from the Palin-bots and Fox News, the more people will then be willing to speak out in the future.
As my daughter says "She is only one little nothing of a person, who is not even a politician anymore, why are people still afraid of her?" Why indeed?
BTW please take the time to click the link above and read the entire Newsweek article. There is much more to it than what I cut and pasted here, and they certainly deserve the hits.

James O'Keefe, the fake "ACORN Pimp." tries to punk CNN.
You can read much, much more about this set up over at CNN.
A conservative activist known for making undercover videos plotted to embarrass a CNN correspondent by recording a meeting on hidden cameras aboard a floating "palace of pleasure" and making sexually suggestive comments, e-mails and a planning document show.
James O'Keefe, best known for hitting the community organizing group ACORN with an undercover video sting, hoped to get CNN Investigative Correspondent Abbie Boudreau onto a boat filled with sexually explicit props and then record the session, those documents show.
The plan apparently was thwarted after Boudreau was warned minutes before it was supposed to happen.
"I never intended to become part of the story," Boudreau said. "But things suddenly took a very strange turn."
This O'Keefe kid is a punk.
This is the sorry excuse for "journalism" that is inspired by watching Fox News.
And by the wya do any of you have ANY doubt that Fox would have aired the footge if O'Keefe had provided it?

The truth behind Sarah Palin's "stalker."
A number of you voiced your doubt that the story about Kristen Cole and Palin having to swear out a restraining order to protect themselves against a dangerous lunatic was on the up and up, and as usual you were correct.
From The Times-Tribune:
Mr. Christy and his family say things aren't as they seem.
Father Craig Christy said the matter began when Shawn, without his parents' knowledge, left home, boarded a Greyhound bus and headed to Washington, D.C., in November 2008.
Mr. Christy ran out of money and had nowhere to go but said he felt safe around the White House and decided to hang out there, his father said. Eventually, he drew the attention of the Secret Service and was questioned by agents but not arrested.
That December, Mr. Christy said his cell phone started clicking and making strange noises. Also, when he used a public computer at a library in Tamaqua, it started malfunctioning. He said he began to call the Secret Service to see if the agency had somehow altered his phone and the computer.
After getting no response, Mr. Christy said he tried to reach Mr. McCain and Mrs. Palin and left repeated messages. Still with no response, he began to send them threats, thinking that would get him the attention he needed to get his phone fixed. He also called the White House for action but said people who spoke to him began laughing at and antagonizing him.
Mr. Christy claims he turned himself into authorities in Washington for the threatening message but was never charged. Soon, his parents were involved, and Secret Service agents visited the family at their home and interviewed Mr. Christy on June 18. He still wasn't charged with a crime but was ordered to undergo a psychological review, according to his father, though Shawn was found to have no problems.
Mr. Christy said he admitted making threats to Mr. McCain, Mrs. Palin and President Barack Obama. He also admitted to trying to contact Mrs. Palin through Ms. Cole, Mrs. Palin's family, her attorney and the Alaska governor's office. He said he found the numbers by looking them up in online phone directories. Shawn also said he called Mrs. Palin's office in 2008 because he was a supporter and wanted to know more about her views. When explaining how he contacted Ms. Cole from a phone with an Alaska area code, Mr. Christy said he purchased a pay-by-the-minute phone for which he could select the number and area code. He said he called Mrs. Palin's mother from the same number in an effort to reach the politician.
Mr. Christy said Wasilla police called him and read the protective orders over the phone to him, and his father said the family received hard copies of the documents, which were delivered by McAdoo police Tuesday.
McAdoo police declined comment Wednesday.
Craig Christy said his son was never in Alaska. Mr. Christy said he purchased a one-way ticket this spring, but never went on the trip because he couldn't afford a return ticket.
Mr. Christy said he sent Mrs. Palin receipts for a gun but that it wasn't intended as a threat. Rather, he sent the receipt from when he sold the gun to a gun shop in Tamaqua in April to let Mrs. Palin know that he wasn't going to shoot her. He claims he didn't contact Mrs. Palin, Cole or anyone else after July 3; according to court documents, he did contact Cole again.
Mr. Christy said the religious talk mentioned in the court orders was misconstrued. He said when he referred to being evil, he meant that all humans are considered sinners by God. He said he was raised Christian and wouldn't actually hurt someone.
Karen Christy is now concerned for her family's safety, and claims they've been the targets of threats.
"I wish honestly, I could go back and it didn't happen," Mr. Christy said.
Palin and Cole have requested a long-term protective order. A hearing on that request is scheduled for 10 a.m. Oct. 13 before Anchorage Master John E. Duggan, according to the Frontiersman.
Craig said the family, all of whom receive treatment related to Lyme disease, can't afford to hire an attorney or fly to Alaska for the hearing, so Shawn will have to participate by phone.
The 20-day protective order prohibits Mr. Christy from following, approaching, confronting, watching or otherwise staking or threatening to stalk or assault Mrs. Palin.
If Mr. Christy violates the order, he can be arrested without a warrant.
I will admit that Mr. Christy's behaviors were more than just a little bizarre, and that both Kristen Cole and Palin had every right to be a little freaked out by his attention. I also believe they were within their rights to get a restraining order, even though Christy claims he did not contact either Palin or Cole after July 3.
However what Sarah Palin should NEVER have done is go to the press and blow this thing so far out of proportion. She could have quietly filed this restraining order with the court, and instructed her attorney to simply say the matter was taken care of and they had no further comment, and left it at that. The kid was never going to be a real threat and he did NOT need to have his life, and that of his family, turned upside down by Sarah Palin's need to play the victim.
She completely overreacted to this JUST like she overrated to Joe McGinniss moving in next door, to David Letterman making a joke about her daughter, and to the audience of DWTS booing her!
She cannot do anything quietly and out of the media spotlight. Every single thing has to be this giant drama filled episode where she plays the poor damsel in distress while the hapless protagonist is portrayed as evil, deviant, and dangerous. (And yes I speak from experience.)
It absolutely boggles my mind that there are actually people in our country who believe THIS WOMAN would make a good President of the United States.

Glenn Beck might be too embarrassing for Fox News. Really? Too embarrassing for FOX? Is that even possible?
I thought I would start the day with this extremely pleasant news.
Anything story about Fox News being pissed off at cry-baby Glenn Beck is a story worth watching.
Now the only question remaining is how long will it be before the reporters and staff at Fox News get so embarrassed by Sarah Palin to start speaking out?
Please make it before election day, pretty please?

Joe Miller faces $50,000 fine for failing to file his personal finance disclosure form. I believe his definition of transparency is the same as his puppeteer Sarah Palin's.
From Think Progress:
Sarah Palin-backed Republican Senate candidate Joe Miller (R-AK), who defeated incumbent Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) in the primary in August, skyrocketed to power partially by demanding more transparency and ethics in Washington. In his 12-point campaign promise, Miller says he will “end czar layer of government” that “clouds transparency in government.” Miller’s campaign endorsement page features Alaskans praising him for having higher ethics and a greater commitment to transparency.
However, ThinkProgress contacted the Senate Ethics Committee and the Senate Office of Public Records yesterday and discovered that Miller has not filed a personal finance disclosure as a candidate for the U.S. Senate, as required by law. According to Title I of the Ethics in Government Act of 1978 and Senate Rule 41.1, candidates for U.S. Senate must file a disclosure form within 30 days of raising or spending $5,000. According to the Federal Elections Committee, Miller raised well over $5,000 as early as April of this year. Asked again today by ThinkProgress if Miller has filed his personal finance disclosure, or has contacted the Senate Office of Public Records with any request for an extension to file, a staffer with the Office responded:
“We haven’t received anything from him. He hasn’t sent us anything.”
According to law, “failure to file or report information required to be reported by section 102 of the Act may subject” Miller — a Yale Law School graduate — to a “civil penalty of not more than $50,000 and to disciplinary action by the Select Committee on Ethics and/or any other appropriate authority.” As of today, Miller is at least five months late with his disclosures.
It is one ethical violation after another with this guy! This cannot be the person that Alaskans want to send to Washington to represent our great state.
If you are living in Alaska, please make sure that you are going to vote in November, and tell your friends to register to vote as well. And then drive them t othe poling booth if you have too!
The only way such a terribly flawed candidate like this can be elected is if those of us with half a brain stay home and let it happen.
This is your chance to send somebody to the Senate to represent you who....well who REALLY represents you! This is our chance to show the world we have learned our lesson and will NEVER elect another Sarah Palin type to an important political office. For me personally that is all the motivation I require to get me to the polls at the crack of dawn.
Won't you please join me?

Is it a prerequisite that ALL Teabagger candidates must be liars?
From Yahoo news:
First, reporters discovered that Delaware GOP Senate nominee Christine O'Donnell did not attend Oxford University, despite her claims to the contrary. And now Claremont Graduate University says O'Donnell never attended its institution.
"Claremont Graduate University has no student or education record for an individual named Christine O'Donnell," a school spokesman told Christina Bellantoni of Talking Points Memo, who confirmed Gary Scott's blog report.
As of Wednesday morning, O'Donnell still listed "Claremont Graduate University" in the education section of her LinkedIn Page.
So we have Christine O'Donnell lying about going to college, Joe Miller fudging the facts about taking farm subsidies and lying about traffic accidents, Jan Brewer lying about law enforcement finding headless bodies along the border, and Sharron Angle seems to never stop lying.
And these are the people that the Teabaggers, who refer to themselves as "We the people." are fighting to elect? I guess this new strain of Republican is much like the old one, as long as they spout the proper talking points, honesty and integrity are just not that important.

Levi Johnston continues to receive very bad advice.
Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy
It is like watching a slow motion car accident. O'Donnell just plays with Levi like a pinata and then feels so bad that he tries to provide some cover for him, but it is too late.
A non-reading Republican global warming denier, who doesn't understand science, obviously Levi is a Teabagger.
I believe I mentioned the interviews I did in Wasilla that showed universal revulsion at the idea of Levi running for mayor. Nobody takes his campaign even remotely seriously. But even as a publicity stunt this is a complete, and total failure.

Joe Miller Games the System to Get Special Hunting/Fishing License
Reports by the Anchorage Daily News indicate that Alaska Republican U.S. Senate nominee Joe Miller, while drawing a $70,000 yearly salary, accepted indigent hunting/fishing licenses intended for low-income Alaskans.
“It seems Joe Miller has again been caught trying to game the system, this time with hunting/fishing licenses,” said U.S. Senate candidate Scott McAdams. “Trying to get something for nothing is what people do in Washington D.C., not in Alaska.”
At the time, indigent hunting licenses were available to Alaskans who had resided in the state for a period of at least a year and received welfare or had an annual family gross income of under $8,200 for the previous year.
The ADN story indicates that receipt of the license overlaps with Joe Miller’s claim to be earning an estimated $70,000 a year as a lawyer. At the time, July – August 1995, Joe Miller was still accepting farm subsidies from the United States Department of Agriculture for land he owned in Kansas.
“I hope it doesn’t take a week for Joe to tell the truth about this,” said McAdams. “Alaskans will expect a quicker response than when Joe admitted to receiving farm subsidies. These actions stand in dark contrast to who the Senate candidate claims to be and describes someone who Alaskans will certainly have difficulty trusting.”--

This is exactly what the Democrats in Alaska, and across the nation need to keep doing, And that is to call the Teabaggers and Republicans out on their blatant lies and hold them accountable.
The voters need to see this happening again, and again so that they know WHO stands for integrity and honesty, and WHO stands for deception and obfuscation.

Go Scott!

Jimmy Kimmell has a little fun with Sarah Palin's DWTS appearance.
Obviously that footage of Bristol dancing was from LAST week, but to be fair I don't believe that Jimmy Kimmell's people had access to the most recent video.

Sarah Palin and Kristen Cole get restraining orders against man who claims to be Sarah's lover. Just when you thought things could not get any weirder!
From the Frontiersman:
Sarah Palin obtained a protective order Monday against an 18-year-old Pennsylvania man who sent her receipts from a gun purchase, along with a letter saying “he tried to follow the Bible but had evil and wickedness in him.”
Palin, 46, filed the request in Anchorage District Court against Shawn R. Christy, a man she says began stalking her by e-mail and phone since the summer of 2009. Palin’s friend, Kristan Cole, 48, filed for and received a similar protective order against Christy.
The 20-day protective orders Anchorage Magistrate Colleen Ray signed Monday prohibit Christy from following, approaching, confronting, watching or otherwise staking or threatening to stalk or assault Palin or Cole.
The protective orders say Christy has been stalking the families since 2009.
Cole said she became concerned about Christy’s letters and e-mails 15 or 16 months ago, but it ended up in court yesterday after the man called her to say his plane had landed in Alaska.
“When someone sends you proof that they’ve purchased weapons. Proof that they know where you live. And said that they are looking into purchasing a one-way plane ticket to Alaska and then calls from a cell phone with a 907 number, it’s over the line and we need protecting.”
Cole testified that Christy sent a letter in August 2010 saying that “he tried to follow the bible but had evil and wickedness in him.” She said Christy told her that he is convinced she is evil and must be punished.
Christy also claims to have had a sexual relationship with Gov. Palin, the documents say. “Petitioner testified that respondent has told her that he has had an affair with Gov. Palin and that petitioner needs to tell the FBI the truth about the affair.”
Palin testified that she has not had a sexual relationship with petitioner, the filing stated. (Wait! Isn't the "petitioner" Kristen Cole? Is Sarah saying she did not have sex with her female friend? What about the guy saying he poked the Mama Grizzly? Or is that just a typo?)
Okay before I start let me just say that I hope they catch this guy, and that Palin is kept safe, and that I am completely against anybody making threatening remarks about ANYBODY.
However I can't help thinking that if this guy really HAD had sex with Sarah Palin that it might explain how he lost his mind. I mean just look what it did to Todd.
I do have to agree with this lunatic on one point, I actually have it on good authority that Kristen Cole IS indeed evil and probably should be punished. However I imagine that the appropriate punishment might be a nice long jail sentence.
I am also thinking it is good that Sarah nipped any potential rumors in the bud by denying that she had a sexual relationship with this young man (At least I think she denied it). You know like she did when that rumor about her affair with Brad Hanson was all over the tabloids.
What? She NEVER denied that affair? Oohhhh!
I really doubt that Sarah is in any real danger, but I cringe at the idea of how the Palin-bots are going to blow this thing completely out of proportion. I can just see it now.
"The Queen is in danger! the Queen is in danger! Palin-bots form a protective circle around her blessed Palin womb and activate the Prayer Warriors! The Palin compound must be protected! Repeat the Palin compound must be protected!"
I cannot help but notice that this guy is not a left wing atheist Democrat who is going after Palin. No I believe he is a white, right wing, religious wing nut. You know, a person firmly in her demographic. Unfortunately for her, he is just a little more wing-nutty than the usual nutjobs that are attracted to her. You never can tell when one of these crazed Grizzly cubs of hers might snap and go rogue on her ass. I mean honestly how connected to reality ARE most of these people to begin with?
And once again, all kidding aside, I do hope that they catch this guy and get him the hell out of our state! We have enough lunatics of our own, thank you very much.

Sarah Palin goes after the Alaska media for not doing their jobs. For once Palin and I are in agreement.
The Twit tweets:
Alaska media slept on the job for how many years re: Obama senior advisor Pete Rouse's claim to be AK resident and "local" voter? For shame.
about 16 hours ago via Twitter for BlackBerry®
Now for those of you who are asking themselves "Pete Rouse who?", Rouse is a Democrat who spent a four years working in Juneau for then Lt. Governor Terry Miller. Since then Rouse has worked for Senator Tom Daschle for a number of years and now works as President Obama's Senior Advisor. There is also a lot of talk recently about Rouse taking Rahm Emanuel's Chief of Staff position once Rahm leaves to run for Mayor of Chicago.
Palin's particular bitch "du jour" with Rouse may be that she doubts he is really eligible to be a registered voter in Alaska after all of these years, and blames the local media for not ferreting out the truth. However it appears that Rouse is, or at least was as of January 21, 2009, still registered to vote in Alaska as reported by the very "Alaska media" that Palin swears has fallen down on the job.
Of course Sister Sarah has had a bee in her bonnet about Pete Rouse for a number of years now, even "suggesting" in her book that HE stole Obama's "CHANGE" theme from her. She also believes that he is part of the shadowy conspiracy of Obama operatives that inspired the filing of ethics charges against her and is behind the Alaska bloggers.
Like I said in the title I AM in agreement with Sarah on this issue. NO, not the part about Pete Rouse going after her on behalf of Barack Obama! The part where she points out that the Alaska media did not do its job for "many years." Because let's face it, if the Alaska media HAD done their jobs there would have been no need for the investigative reporting, and scrutiny provided by the bloggers.
In fact if the media had been doing their jobs all along there is a fairly good chance that today Sarah Palin would be nothing more than an ex-mayor of Wasilla and a stay at home mom. And the only damage she would be doing would be to the embattled psyches of her children Track, Bristol, Willow, and Piper.
Because do you know what else? I would bet dollars to donuts there would never even have BEEN a Trig Palin! I mean if she had simply remained a stay at home mom, and part time political dabbler, WHY would she need her little pro-life poster child?
So now don't you find yourself agreeing with Sister Sarah about the failure of the Alaska media as well?
And here I bet you thought you would NEVER agree with Sarah Palin about ANYTHING!
P.S. By the way to address that ridiculous meme that the Obama administration is behind the ethics charges, let me just say that I have met and talked with a number of people who filed them, and not ONE person has ever been approached by a representative from President Obama either before, or after, he took office.
Ands as for the Alaska bloggers? Well we were simply responding to a request by Sarah Palin herself who famously said "Hold me accountable!" So we did!

Joe Miller supporters are bringing out the nasty.
From Huffington Post:
A conservative PAC is raising money to run an ad on Alaska airwaves that paints Republican Sen. Lisa Murkowski as an entitled 'princess' and crybaby for deciding to stay on the ballot as a write-in candidate in November after her loss to to tea party favorite Joe Miller in last month's primary.
The ad, which Let Freedom Ring PAC is currently trying to get on the radio, coldly describes Frank Murkowski's decision to pass his Senate seat onto his daughter, Lisa, after he was elected governor in 2002.
Jesus! So THIS is how the Joe Miller people go after a respected Republican when she refuses to walk in lockstep with their wishes.
If Miller does not come out and condemn this ad I believe it will tell the Alaska voters quite a lot about his character. Not that I personally have much respect for his character as it is.
By the way is it just me, or did any of you immediately imagine the words spoken in that ad coming directly out of Sarah Palin's mouth?

Who DOESN'T want this guy to be their Senator?
Scott has also gone to the Daily Kos to let people know a little more about him:
I’m a big guy from a small town. I was raised by a single mom in Petersburg, AK. I grew up in an Alaska where we looked out for one another, and that spirit of community is what drives me to this day.
I couldn’t have been a school board member, a mayor, or a Senate candidate without the love and support of my beautiful wife of 17 years, Romee, and our three wonderful children. The hardest part of this campaign has been being away from them for so long.
Why should you care about a small town mayor running for US Senate in Alaska? As we’ve seen, a single senator from any state, whether next-door or far-flung, can become an almost insurmountable impediment to progress. I’m running for the Senate because I think Alaska needs a senator who understands what it means to do a hard day’s work, who helps build communities, who watches out for his neighbors and gets them the help they need in a changing economy. I’m a guy who sees problems and tackles them, who rolls up his sleeves with Democrats, Republicans, and independents alike to get results on the local and state levels. I know that my young state needs continued federal investment to keep developing our natural resources. This race is about Alaska. But Alaska is inextricably linked to the rest of our great country: as goes one, so goes the other. Policies that are good for Alaska will help build a stronger America.
It only gets better from there.
And do you know what? I am pretty damn sure he wrote it HIMSELF!
Suck on that Joe Miller supporters and Palin-bots!

Must read Rolling Stone article about the Teabaggers. Don't miss it!
From journalist Matt Taibbi:
It's taken three trips to Kentucky, but I'm finally getting my Tea Party epiphany exactly where you'd expect: at a Sarah Palin rally. The red-hot mama of American exceptionalism has flown in to speak at something called the National Quartet Convention in Louisville, a gospel-music hoedown in a giant convention center filled with thousands of elderly white Southerners. Palin — who earlier this morning held a closed-door fundraiser for Rand Paul, the Tea Party champion running for the U.S.
Senate — is railing against a GOP establishment that has just seen Tea Partiers oust entrenched Republican hacks in Delaware and New York. The dingbat revolution, it seems, is nigh.
"We're shaking up the good ol' boys," Palin chortles, to the best applause her aging crowd can muster. She then issues an oft-repeated warning (her speeches are usually a tired succession of half-coherent one-liners dumped on ravenous audiences like chum to sharks) to Republican insiders who underestimated the power of the Tea Party Death Star. "Buck up," she says, "or stay in the truck."
Stay in what truck? I wonder. What the hell does that even mean?
Scanning the thousands of hopped-up faces in the crowd, I am immediately struck by two things. One is that there isn't a single black person here. The other is the truly awesome quantity of medical hardware: Seemingly every third person in the place is sucking oxygen from a tank or propping their giant atrophied glutes on motorized wheelchair-scooters. As Palin launches into her Ronald Reagan impression — "Government's not the solution! Government's the problem!" — the person sitting next to me leans over and explains.
"The scooters are because of Medicare," he whispers helpfully. "They have these commercials down here: 'You won't even have to pay for your scooter! Medicare will pay!' Practically everyone in Kentucky has one."
A hall full of elderly white people in Medicare-paid scooters, railing against government spending and imagining themselves revolutionaries as they cheer on the vice-presidential puppet hand-picked by the GOP establishment. If there exists a better snapshot of everything the Tea Party represents, I can't imagine it.
Seriously you HAVE to click the link provided at teh top and read this entire article, it is awesome. Perhaps my favorite line is this one: But after lengthy study of the phenomenon, I've concluded that the whole miserable narrative boils down to one stark fact: They're full of shit. All of them.
If that does not sum up my impression of the Teabaggers than words simply won't do it.

An audience member reveals the truth about why the DWTS audience was booing last night.
From Sarah Palin is a Phony (Boy I LOVE that blog name!):
Having been an audience member on DWTS when Sarah Palin was there, people have been asking me if the audience was actually booing at Sarah. The answer is absolutely yes. It pretty much stopped though when the production assistants were encouraging the audience to cheer. But there's no doubt we were booing at her once it became clear that she was about to be interviewed by Tom Bergeron. While you can hear it before they pan the camera to Sarah Palin, they didn't capture her on television during the booing. Suffice to say, she was looking back at everyone in the audience rather incredulously (just up to the point where the camera focus goes to her and you see her shaking her head in disgust).
First of all, keep in mind, this is a Hollywood television production. I've never been to such an event before. It's not quite like what's seen on TV at all. Actually, much of the time you can't even hear what the hosts are even saying, since the mic is often tapped purely into the television feed and not the room speakers. It's most certainly a made-for-television show. The audience is actually a lot smaller than it seems on TV too, and a good 80% of them were booing, loud and clear.
I don't usually keep a blog, but I want to get the truth out there. There are some articles out there where a producer from ABC is reporting to have said that the booing was because the audience was disappointed about Jennifer Grey's score. Total TV production BS. Going to this kind of event was quite an experience, but in a way, it's actually increased my cynicism about Hollywood.
So there you have it. The Palin-bots and ABC executives can try to alter reality all they want, but WE know what really happened, and it is time that people started to call bullshit on Sarah Palin's attempts to obfuscate everything that shows her in a less than flattering light.
As many of you remember this was not the first time that Sarah was embarrassed on national television. Remember this guy from back when Sarah did her "stand up routine" on the Tonight Show?
In his report on Daily Kos earlier this week, Stinson said: "After sitting through the taping of the show in the studio I can recount many portions where there was little or no laughter or response, but at the later broadcast they are smoothed over with applause and laughter that WERE NOT THERE at the taping. Groans, hoots, grumbling, or just dead silence - all missing."
Perhaps it was the embarrassment from THAT appearance that had the Palin-bots perched over their keyboards ready to do damage control as their fragile queen was exposed to he harsh light of reality?

Sarah Palin gets booed on Dancing with the Stars.
Here it is on YouTube!
From Gawker:
Sarah Palin is in tonight's DWTS audience to support her daughter, Bristol (watch Bristol's grody routine from last week here). Tom Bergeron interviewed Palin a bit ago, and—just beforehand—the audience booed. Loudly! What gives?
Sorry it took me a little bit to regain my composure after I was doubled over laughing at that clip. So good.
Oh that just made my night. You see Sarah? Once you leave the safety of Fox News THIS is what America really thinks of you! Still want to run for President?
Update: The Daily Beast has a write up on this as well and a video with MUCH better audio!
By the way the Palin-bots are VERY upset about this and have launched a coordinated effort here, and all over the blogosphere, to minimize the embarrassment for Sarah. It almost seems like they were prepared for something like this to happen.
Update 2: Here is a link to watch Bristol's dance. After watching you can ask yourself if she REALLY deserved a score of 22, or whether or not the judges are a bunch of pussies who are too intimidated by the prospect of having their e-mail in-boxes overflowing with threats from Palin-bots to give out the score the dance actually deserved.

Having turned the Wiccans, the scientists, and the masturbators off to her campaign already, now we see video that will turn the gay community against Christine O'Donnell as well. Personally I believe she turned off just about EVERYBODY with that anti-masturbation stance.
If I may just cut to the chase of Ms. O'Donnell's argument, I believe what she is saying is that if the homosexual community would just stop acting so........freaking gay, then the government would not have to spend so much money fighting a disease that could easily be prevented if everybody would just follow O'Donnell's example and become an uptight, self loathing, crazy ass frigid bitch.
See? Problem solved!

It looks like Mama Grizzly WILL be in the audience at DWTS tonight. Update!
There you have it folks!
The woman who wants to be the leader of the free world, her daughter "little miss personality", and perhaps the cutest toddler on the planet (No snark in that last observation.)
You can read more over at X17online.
I cannot help but wonder if Levi has had Tripp even one day of his court ordered two days a week of visitation time?
Update: You know how they say a picture is worth a thousand words?
Now I am just this side of absolutely certain that Bristol was pregnant earlier this summer, but I kind of believed that she must have taken a bottle of Wite-out to the problem before flying off to LA. Doesn't DWTS have their contestants take a physical?
Update2: I just had my daughter check out those two pictures and her opinion is that Bristol is NOT pregnant, just overweight. I am not sure what to think, so I will leave it up to all of you, especially the women who have had children, to enlighten the rest of us.
Step aside Baby Boomers, "Generation We" is hot on our heels and they are better educated, more socially conscious, and more progressive than any other generation before them.
If you are a progressive, reading the results of this survey will put a smile on your face the entire day. (Survey is in pdf form.)
A new generation is about to seize the reins of history—the Millennial generation.
Born between 1978 and 2000, the Millennials currently include 95 million young people up to 30 years of age—the biggest, most diverse, and best-educated age cohort in the history of the nation.
Self-aware and committed to generational solidarity. .Millennials do not see themselves at odds with older generations of Americans, but they do believe their generation has a unique set of experiences that set them apart.
Strongly progressive, socially tolerant, environmentally-conscious, peace-loving, and poised to lead the biggest left ward shift in recent American history.
Sober but optimistic in their assessment of the future. The Millennials worry about being the first generation in American history to be worse off than their parents—but they believe this fate can be avoided through shared effort.
Enthusiastic about the power of collective social action. Millennials don’t see government as a panacea, but they believe in its potential and want to take it back from the special interests and the power elites.
Unselfish and socially committed. The Millennials are not a “Generation Me” but rather a “Generation We.” They volunteer in record numbers and declare themselves ready to sacrifi ce their
self-interest for the greater good.

This is the generation that helped elect President Obama, and gets their news from Jon Stewart, and watched James Cameron's "Avatar" and identified completely with the alien race while viewing the forces attempting to strip the planet's resources as the selfishness of the generations that preceded their own.
Perhaps the most important characteristic of the Millennials is their across-the-board rejection of the country’s current leadership and dominant institutions. Whether it be Congress and the federal government, major corporations, or organized religion, these young Americans believe the large institutions that dominate modern society have comprehensively failed, placing narrow self-interests ahead of the welfare of the country as a whole. Frustrated and seeking an outlet for their innate idealism, they are eager for wholesale change. The Millennials have already begun shifting the nation’s politics. Having come of age with Washington dominated by Republicans, they leaning strongly the opposite way. Although they reject both “liberal” and “conservative” labels, they are especially scathing in their denunciation of conservatism, which they associate with hypocritical moralism, administrative incompetence, ideological rigidity, and corporate scandal.
Regardless of how many Fox News lies spill into living rooms all over America, or how much money is spent on television advertising by special interest groups in the years ahead, or how ignorant the Republicans try to keep the voters of America, THIS is the generation that is emerging.
I talked to my daughter about this study last night, and to her the findings in the study were something that she felt should be completely obvious to anybody paying attention to her and her friends. She said the days of partisanship are finished once they take over.
She sees a future where racism, sexism, and homophobia are things of the past. Where each person is judged individually and not based on a pre-determined label or prejudice.
She also believes that organized religions are seeing the last of their influence on the morals of Americans and that instead the day is coming when a more simplistic, yet accessible type of morality will be the norm throughout the country.
In other words the generation about to take over is the worst nightmare for the Fundamentalists and Teabaggers. Yet for me it is a dream that I almost did not dare to imagine might one day come true.
I only hope I live long enough to enjoy the beauty of the America that their compassion and sense of unity will create.
Namaste my friends. The future looks very bright indeed.

Oh I like this news very much!
From PR Buzz:
WashingtonDCHotels.com reported that booking demand for hotel rooms in Washington DC for Steven Colbert's "March to Keep Fear Alive" and John Stewart's "Rally to Restore Sanity" rallies scheduled for October 30th is outpacing Glenn Beck's "Restoring Honor Rally" for the same comparative period.
According to Gerri Smyth, Washington DC Hotel's Director of Reservations, booking demand for comparative periods show about a 25% higher demand with less than 6 weeks to go. "We can't say that this higher demand for hotel rooms means Colbert's and Stewart's rallies mean these events will be better attended than Mr. Beck's Restoring Honor Rally. There are other factors at play, including the lead time from the initial announcement to the event, which can either compress or extend out booking patterns. Also, within about 2 weeks of Mr. Beck's event, there were effectively no hotel vacancies in Washington DC. So, we can't extrapolate and say we are going to see a bigger event. Perhaps the data shows liberals and moderates tend to be more conservative and book more in advance or maybe it means that conservative activists tend to be more self-reliant and liberal with risk taking. Or, most likely, it doesn't mean much of anything. As Mark Twain would be apt to say, perhaps 'figures lie and liars figure', so we'll just let somebody else do the figuring," said Smyth with a grin.
My hope for this rally is that it attracts over 500,000 people.
And I mean ACTUALLY attracts 500,000 people!
You know 500,000 that AirPhotosLive.com can count independently and does not have to rely on the estimates of Glenn Beck, Ann Coulter, or Sarah Palin..

Isn't this how the Spanish Inquisition began?
From Talk to Action:
Cureton is vice president for church ministries for the Family Research Council. During the FRC's recent "Values Voter Summit," he warned attendees at a breakout session on churches and politics to be ready for some intense action.
"The battle that we're fighting," he said, "is not just a political and cultural battle, it's a spiritual battle."
And when a battle is spiritual, you can be sure that some people are serving the wrong side.
"When you think about it, you know, the real enemy is not the poor, deluded souls who are advancing these evil agendas," Cureton said. "Really, they're just simply pawns in the hands of their malevolent master. They're simply doing the bidding of the devil, OK?"
But Cureton, a Southern Baptist pastor and former denominational official, wasn't done there. Imploring right-wing evangelicals to politicize their churches and blanket them with "voter guides" (documents that are always stacked to favor the most right-wing candidate), he insisted that the last thing you want to do is turn out the vote across the board. Only the people who agree with the Religious Right should be targeted on Election Day, he said.
"We're not just encouraging people to vote however," Cureton said. "That's what happened in the last election. That's how Obama got elected - a bunch of stupid evangelicals who didn't even use their biblical values when they went in the voting booth."
It is always important to remember that much of the energy fueling the engine that drives the Republican party forward is this fundamentalist religious fervor that believes the country is a Christian nation and despises all interlopers who they see as not puritanical enough.
Of course the truly ridiculous part is that many in the GOP are only Christians on the surface and continue to lie, whore, and cheat as much, and probably more, than the next guy, However so long as they say the right things, bow their heads at the right times, and appear to stand for the right issues, they easily get the support of this crazed fundamentalist right wing network that accepts that they are superior to any candidate who refuses to jump through their religious hoops.
Even George Bush really only used the "Moral Majority" and their brethren to get into office. But he did provide payback for their support by starting the Holy War they had lusted after for the last 170 years, and by putting Roberts and Alito on the Supreme Court, but not nearly enough to appease the fanatical hunger of the Rapture Ready crowd.
But now the fundies have learned their lessons to some degree and are starting to demand their own "loyalty oath." And if THAT ever becomes the norm in the Republican party all of us still living in the reality based world had better start to fight back in a big way because there is no telling how much more damage these wingnuts could do if their Representatives really believed some of the bullshit they have been spouting all of these years.

Sarah Palin's crazy political pals and her plans for 2012.
(This video was created by the brilliant folks at Flat Earth TV. Take a moment to visit their page and take their pledge.)
That video was a fun to watch but let us not forget that the message is dead serious. The individuals that Sarah Palin is endorsing are extremely dangerous to our country and our hopes of moving forward and dealing with the very real problems that we are currently facing.
Lately there has been a change in the creativity and professionalism that is being demonstrated by new websites dedicated to Sarah Palin and in Palin's messages as they appear on Facebook and in the media.
This is very troubling to me.
Take a look at this new interactive website called Take back the 20 which is dedicated to targeting House Democrats in districts that McCain/Palin carried in 2008 that voted with Obama on the health care bill:
Join me in standing against those who stood with Obama and Pelosi in voting for this disastrous bill. The Democrats from 20 districts we carried in 2008 voted for Obamacare. Now we can vote against them.
Let’s replace them with good conservatives who will vote to repeal and replace Obamacare with patient-centered, results-driven, free market reform that provides solutions to people of all income levels without bankrupting our country.
The message is the same, but the slickness of the website reveals that there is more money being spent on making it a more forceful and compelling presentation..
The same could be said for this new website called Organize4Palin that appears to an off-shoot of the C4P site, but which is dedicated to gathering donations for "worthy" candidates and helping them to get elected. (Candidates that clearly would owe Palin a favor or two if elected.) It is also very well put together and looks very much like the previously mentioned Take Back the 20 website. There is also this very well put together conservative news aggregate site called The Blaze that she recently promoted on her Facebook page. (Just to give yourself some idea of the vast number of pro-Sarah Palin blogs and websites out there on the blogosphere you could visit here and have your mind blown.)
And if that were not enough to make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up, there has also been a change in the professionalism of the writing in Sarah's Facebook rants. In this recent attack on President Obama's healthcare bill the writing is much, much improved over the angry rants of Rebecca Mansour and speaks to the fact that Palin has brought in a more polished team to get her/their message out. (For a some perspective on this lie riddled, yet well written, Facebook post please read Sarah Jones brilliant take down over at Politicususa.)
I guess the point I am trying to make is that whether she really hopes to win or not (And for many of my progressive friends the jury is still out on that), Sarah Palin is definitely preparing to make a run for the Presidency. And considering the amount of money being spent, and the amount of time people are putting into polishing up her image, there are some people behind her who are dead serious about the idea of a President Palin being elected in 2012.

Bristol Palin's appearances do far more harm than good for impressionable teenage girls.
From Visalia Times-Delta:
"There's no doubt that her [Bristol's] celebrity helps to promote abstinence," said Bill Albert, spokesman for the National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy. "She is the most famous unwed teen mother in the world today."
This statement absolutely boggles my mind.
Bristol Palin has achieved fame and fortune by getting pregnant, and while her spoken message to teenage girls is "say no", the more obvious message she is sending is "Look what saying yes did for me!"
Bristol is being paid for the speaking engagement, Kesterson said, though contract privacy provisions do not permit public disclosure of exactly how much. It is known, though, that 800 tickets have already been sold for the event for an average of $65 each — making the event worth $52,000 so far. Single Source Speakers, which coordinates Bristol's speaking engagements, is paying her between $15,000 and $30,000 per engagement, the company has disclosed.
How do parents attempting to tell their young daughters to either wait to have sex until they are married, or to use protection if waiting is not realistic, when Bristol Palin is appearing on television and making thousands of dollars for speeches SOLELY because she got knocked up by her teenage boyfriend?
Doesn't ANYBODY see the hypocrisy of this?
Some critics have said Bristol Palin, born into a family with relative affluence and ample child-support resources, misrepresents vast numbers of unwed teen mothers who wrestle with poverty, neglect and abuse in dealing with their pregnancies. Albert, though, said statistics speak otherwise.
"Studies show that by far the largest percentage of unwed teen mothers do not themselves come from single-parent or poor families," Albert said. "Most single moms are from stable two-parent families, and families that are 200 percent or more above the poverty line in income."
Well there you go, THAT is exactly what I am talking about.
So knowing that how do these organizations justify paying Bristol Palin to so completely misrepresent what it is like to be a teenage mother in the REAL America?
As for the Tulare-Kings Right to Life organization, all that counts is the child.
"She had the baby," Kesterson said. "That's our primary concern. Everything else is secondary."
I have no words.

The President's Weekly Address
Transcript courtesy of Daily Kos:
This week, the economists who officially decide when recessions start and end declared the recession of 2008 to be over. But if you’re one of the millions of Americans who lost your home, your job, or your savings as a consequence of the recession, this news is of little comfort or value.
Yes, the economy is growing instead of shrinking, as it was in 2008 and the beginning of 2009. We’re gaining private sector jobs each month instead of losing 800,000, as we did the month I took office.
But we have to keep pushing to promote growth that will generate the jobs we need, and repair the terrible damage the recession has done. That’s why I’ve proposed a series of additional steps: accelerated tax breaks for businesses who buy equipment now; a permanent research and development tax break to promote innovation by American companies; and a new initiative to rebuild America’s roads, rails, and runways that will put folks to work and make our country more competitive.
Taken together with the small business tax cut and lending plan we passed through Congress last week, these steps will help spur jobs in the short run, and strengthen our economy for the long run.
Now, the Republicans who want to take over Congress offered their own ideas the other day. Many were the very same policies that led to the economic crisis in the first place, which isn’t surprising, since many of their leaders were among the architects of that failed policy.
It is grounded in same worn out philosophy: cut taxes for millionaires and billionaires; cut the rules for Wall Street and the special interests; and cut the middle class loose to fend for itself. That’s not a prescription for a better future. It’s an echo of a disastrous decade we can’t afford to relive.
The Republicans in Washington claimed to draw their ideas from a website called “America Speaking Out.”It turns out that one of the ideas that’s drawn the most interest on their website is ending tax breaks for companies that ship jobs overseas.
Funny ting is, when we recently closed one of the most egregious loopholes for companies creating jobs overseas, Republicans in Congress were almost unanimously opposed. The Republican leader John Boehner attacked us for it, and stood up for outsourcing, instead of American workers.
So, America may be speaking out, but Republicans in Congress sure aren’t listening. They want to put special interests back in the driver’s seat in Washington. They want to roll back the law that will finally stop health insurance companies from denying you coverage on the basis of a preexisting condition. They want to repeal reforms that will finally protect hardworking families from hidden rates and penalties every time they use a credit card, make a mortgage payment, or take out a student loan.
And for all their talk about reining in spending and getting our deficits under control, they want to borrow another $700 billion, and use it to give tax cuts to millionaires and billionaires. On average, that’s a tax cut of about $100,000 for millionaires.
Instead of cutting taxes for the wealthiest few – tax breaks we cannot afford – I’ve called for tax cuts for middle class families who saw their incomes shrink by five percent during the last, lost decade. We’ve already cut 8 different taxes for small business owners to help them hire and grow, and we’re going to cut 8 more. We’re challenging our states and schools to do a better job educating our kids and making college more affordable so America can once more lead the world in the proportion of our kids graduating from college. And we’re putting an end to the days of taxpayer-funded bailouts so Main Street never again has to pay for Wall Street’s mistakes.
America is a great country. Our democracy is vibrant, our economy is dynamic, and our workers can outcompete the best of them. But the way for us to remain the greatest country on Earth isn’t to turn back the clock and put the special interests in charge. It’s to make sure all our people are getting a fair shake. It’s to make sure everyone who’s willing to work for it still has a chance to reach for the American dream. And that will remain my mission every single day so long as I have the honor of serving as President.
Have a nice weekend, everybody.
There is still something very comforting in hearing Obama speak. Even while the Republicans do everything in their power to tear him down, and the media seems to criticize every small setback while missing the huge achievements, he still seems as solid and dependable as the rock that the lighthouse of hope for our country is built upon.
"Barack the rock." That works for me.
Now if we could just get some of our OTHER Democrats to plant their feet as firmly in the ground as their President we might just have a chance of turning back the red tide headed our way in November.

Alaskans respect confident aggressive candidates.
Remember Ted Stevens?
If Scott McAdams were to aggressively define himself and his outrage at the outside interests trying to steal our election he could make a serious impact. And the same goes for Ethan and Diane.

Yep BOTH of her boobs were exposed to about 200 people at the Curtis Menard Center.
From KTUU:
“I wish Sarah Palin had shown up. It would have been perfect for me,” said Miller supporter Lloyd Arms.
Oh she was there alright buddy. And if these two idiots get elected her influence in Alaska will continue for many years to come.
So come on Alaskans, vote Ethan Berkowitz and Scott McAdams!
Alaska has seen more than enough of Sarah Palin and her boobs, it is time to class the place up and use our votes to put her her political decolletage out of the public eye for all time.

Mercede Johnston's Star magazine interview.
Many of you have been asking for my opinion on this article and whether I knew about Bristol's surgery or not. Yes I did know about the second surgery, but not the first.
However I feel I need to clear up some misconceptions about the interview.
The writing is very small, and the only way to really read it is to save the picture and then blow it up on your computer.
Because it is so small some have leaped to the conclusion that Bristol had TWO breast surgeries. However that is not what Mercede said. She stated that Bristol had two plastic surgeries that she knows of, and that the most recent one, which I believe was several months ago and before she and Levi got back together, included breast reduction. (BTW I don't believe there is any significance to the fact that Star picked that first photo of Bristol, other than that it shows her with larger breasts than more recent pictures.)
I am not all that comfortable talking about a young woman's breast surgery, but there is one part of Mercede's interview that I found somewhat startling. Sadie says that in December of 2007, when Bristol was a young girl of only seventeen years of age, she received plastic surgery.
I talked to Mercede about this and she says Levi told her the surgery was for the area beneath Bristol's chin. Now for Bristol to receive that surgery one of her parents would have had to have given their permission. I doubt that Todd is allowed to give the okay for anything as important as plastic surgery, so I feel comfortable in saying that Sarah would have undoubtedly been the one to sign off on that one.
I find that kind of interesting because it raises few questions.
Palin was the Governor at that time and, as we are now all too aware, VERY concerned with how she was perceived by the public. So it beggars the question as to WHY she would have allowed Bristol to get surgery? Even for an individual as chronically shallow as Sarah Palin, why would she have thought it appropriate for her SEVENTEEN year old daughter to have had cosmetic surgery?
Unless, and I am only postulating here, there was more than just some minor facial surgery involved?
Sadie said she and her mother pestered Levi for an answer as to WHY Bristol would not come into the house and open the presents that they had bought for her. And that he finally broke down and told the chin surgery story. But Sadie did not SEE Bristol at that time so she only has Levi's word about what kind of surgery that Bristol had done. (I am not calling Levi a liar I am just stating the facts.)
I can tell you without equivocation that the Alaska Native Hospital does NOT do cosmetic surgery, nor does insurance usually cover selective surgery of this kind. So Sarah and Todd would have had to come up with this money out of pocket. Why?
That is a very good question.
By the way this is what Bristol looked like less than four months later, the day after Trig Palin was supposedly born.
You have admit, her chin does look nice and slim. But one has to wonder WHY a relatively slim girl like Bristol would have gained enough weight in her face back in 2007 for her mother to agree to spend hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars to rectify?
Just another piece of the puzzle. Could it be an important piece? I think it just might be.

Witchcraft dabbler Christine O'Donnell's goal is to stop the whole country from having sex? WTF?
This video comes to us courtesy of "Morning Joe" from 2003.
O'Donnell is talking to MTV's Eric Nies about how to educate our children about sex. (Transcript is courtesy of the Huffington Post)
NIES: I tell them to be careful. You have to wear a condom. You have to protect yourself when you're going to have sex, because they're having it anyway...There's nothing that you or me can do about it.
O'DONNELL: The sad reality is -- yes, there is something you can do about it. And the sad reality, to tell them slap on a condom is not --
NIES: You're going to stop the whole country from having sex?
O'DONNELL: Yeah. Yeah!
Seeriously? Who would vote for this woman?

Joe Miller, California's favorite candidate in the running to be the Senator for the great state of Alaska. Update!
As anybody who has been paying even the slightest bit of attention to Alaska politics knows, Joe Miller won the Republican nomination to run for the Senate by squeaking past incumbent Lisa Murkowski by a mere 2006 votes. Now much of the credit for that successful run has been given to the California based Tea Party Express which gifted Joe Miller with nearly $600,000 to help him run negative campaign ads attacking Murkowski.
Now we learn that since Murkowski has decided to stage a write-in campaign to get her old job back that the Tea Party Express has decided to keep throwing money at our Alaska state elections in the hopes of ensuring a victory for THEIR chosen candidate.
The tea party group helping to upset the status quo in several races this election year is coming back to Alaska to fulfill a vow to do whatever it takes to beat U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski.
The Tea Party Express painted Alaska's senior senator as a liberal and Republican in name only, and it vowed to work twice as hard to defeat her if she mounted a write-in campaign, which she is doing.
(By the way the Tea Party Express is also responsible for financing the campaigns of national embarrassments to the Republican party Christine O'Donnell and Sharron Angle.)
Yep the Teabaggers have managed to buy their candidates victory in state, after state, after state. And so far they have been successful in doing so up here in Alaska as well. And in return their candidate has almost completely ignored the citizens of Alaska and focused his attention on sending a message, via Fox News (And filmed exclusively in Palin's home studio in Wasilla), that he represents the ideals of the Tea Party Express FAR more than the ideals of the hard working people of our great state.
And now Joe Miller is driving this point home by proving to the whole world that he is, now and forever, Sarah Palin's butt boy and tagging along with her to San Diego to address the Combat Veterans for Congress. (Gee I wonder how many Alaskans will be attending THAT gathering?)
The only hope Alaska has to elect somebody who really understands what we stand for, what we need from our Federal government, and what we want them to keep their hands off of, is Scott McAdams. And if you want to make sure that Alaska is represented by a Senator who represents Alaska, and NOT California or the interests of big oil, then please take a moment to donate. Every little bit helps.
"It's safe to say that Joe Miller is a friend of patriots," Norm Olson, commander of the Alaska Citizens Militia, told Salon. "His beliefs and platform favor Second Amendment rights as well as the power of nullification when the federal government intrudes into the private lives of Alaskans."
Olson, who lives on the Kenai Peninsula, claims that his group has several hundred members and supporters, adding, "what fuels the militia is fear." The militia's ideology is outlined in a list of 17 "acts of war." The list includes "firearms restrictions or other disarmament," "mandatory medical anything," "federal patrols," "taking control of children under duress or threat," "federalization of law enforcement," and "surrender powers to a corporation or foreign government."
This comes from the Alaska Citizens Militia handbook:
What protection do the citizens of Alaska have as long as such immunities provide this possibility? What force exists to prevent the state or federal government from denying the citizens of their rights under the Constitution? In simple terms, "What force exists to prevent a state or federally orchestrated massacre like the one in Waco from occurring in Alaska?"
Can it be contested that the organized militia at all levels belongs to the government? It should be clear by now that ALL militia agencies established either by the federal government or the state constitute the ORGANIZED militia because they are organized by and for the established government. Since this is true, there exists no standing force able to keep the state's forces at bay should they desire to move against the citizens. Do we believe those patriot citizen soldiers at Lexington and Concord were part of the organized government at that time? Of course not! It was clear to the early patriots that the militia was independent of the organized government and made up of people who stood ready to repel a tyrannical government from denying their liberty under natural law and reflected later in the Constitution. It is equally clear to the members of the Alaska Citizens Militia today. Furthermore, the founders of our government believed that power should remain in the hands of the people to stop the usurpation of power by government. For this expressed reason they believed in the militia system where all citizens should keep and bear arms.
So there you have it. Joe Miller is almost solely financed by out of state money and supported by the group who threatens to take up arms against the Federal government if they dare to move against a person who breaks the law in Alaska.

(Does that banner say that Joe Miller is ALREADY the Senator from Alaska? Arrogant son-of-a-bitch!)
Clearly the ONLY thing Alaskan about Joe Miller and his carpet/tea bagging campaign is that it happens to be taking place right here in our great state. Essentially this exact campaign could be held in Delaware, or Nevada, or Florida, or Kentucky, and do you know what? It is.
Look I am not exactly a fan of Lisa Murkowski either, the money for HER campaign is literally dripping with oil from the big energy companies. And voting for her at this point is essentially a vote for Miller.
Because, let's face it, if Miller wins than this really WILL be Sarah Palin's Alaska!
Update: I am sorry I forgot to mention that there is ONE group in Alaska who are big fans of Joe Miller, and that is the rapidly growing number of Militia members.
